HOW and WHERE to fish for WINTER CHINOOK Salmon
TR3 screams 🔥🔥🔥
Do you ever use plugs on the west coast
Absolutely! Plugs did very well in winter harbour this year. Less hits but the fish that hit were all 25lbs +
@ Wow that’s awesome ! That’s pretty much all i fish around here in Campbell River !
My favourite part of this series is seeing a bunch of guides (both hosts and every guide they have interviewed) that truly seem like good guys to hang out with. I've never hired a guide because I've always preferred the company of close friends and bad fishermen but I might just have to rethink that. On a day of heavy rain and high winds it is nice to see some blue sky and fish on, even if just on video. Thanks guys, I love your channel.
It’s one our favourite parts as well, getting to know the different guides, their personalities and all the different tips and tricks each one brings is truly special. Thanks so much for watching.
I think you are referring to the Fishing Deep for Winter Chinook episode
Great dudes. Which episode did you guys go over the three colors you need to fish for the season. TIA. Keep em coming.
Each episode we go over different gear that works in specific areas. Let us know if you have any questions. Happy to try and help.
Sure is. Very popular with Kayakers
Looks like a great place to paddle also
👍🏻🇨🇦
What month was this episode? Thanks for the great tips!
This was first week of June 2024. Thanks for watching!
Haida Gwaii is maybe the best fishing in BC, so doing THAT would be great.
We would love to get up there. 2025 is getting booked up but we will do our best to get up there in the near future.
Awesome episode! Love your guys' energy, can't wait for the next westcoast fishing trip!👏🙌
Thanks so much for watching! Enjoy your next trip to the west coast 🎣🎣
Great job boys. Come and fish our special place on the Westcoast
It’s in the works! James is on it
Always interesting to see guys many different set ups they have confidence in.
We find it so interesting ourselves. Being able to jump on other guide boats and see how each one does it a little different is so cool! Looking forward to bring you many more setups to look at.
We love you guys!
Thanks so much!!
Can I get the rod make and model for you center-pin reels?
West Coast fishing tackle 🔥🔥
The rod model is a TS88i 10’6 mooching rod. The reels were using are islander mooching reels which have a drag system. So they are not a true centerpin but are a single action reel. There is a true centerpin rod available through WCFT the model for that rod is RS77i 11’3. Shot us a DM on IG at theguidesguide if you need like more info. Happy to chat with you.
@@GuidesGuide Here in Sitka, Alaska - love using this type of equipment, although not many here use it. Thanks for your help!
Wow looked like a whale in the background at 11:28
Sure was! Thanks for watching
This was probably one of my favourite episodes! So many fish and the weather looked incredible for a west coast kind of day!! Amazing 🤩
It was! What a fantastic day! Thanks for watching
Great episode! It looks like a nice place to fish.
Beautiful place to fish. Highly recommend. Thanks for watching
Another amazing episode!! Well done guys!!
Great day out there. Love to see a show on Hali fishing out there.
Absolutely it’s coming!! Stayed tuned spring 2025!!
Another outstanding epiisode!!
Thanks so much!
What an absolutely epic episode gents!
Thanks for watching!! Tight lines
Thai chilli salmon bites? Tell me more!
Great info! 1) love that offset hook trick 2) nori and canned salmon is genius 3) chasing gear up off a shallow bite is brilliant 4) wind is a fisherman’s nemesis 😂 Nice work dudes
Awesome! Thanks so much for watching
I don't see a "Thanks" button (which some channels have), so I can't pay you guys.
We’re working on it! Thank you
Great video. Coal Harbour launch (west of Port Hardy) would be a great place to do a video on, as well.
Awesome! We will get out there for sure
Incredible!!
Keep this up, and you guys will RULE RUclips! (British Columbia fishing videos). Most videos by the other guys are just "hot fishing action".....which doesn't really help ME catch fish, I'm afraid. Entertaining, but not instructional, unfortunately.
Awesome! We’re glad to hear you’re getting value from our channel.
Great vid! Would love bottomfish tips, as well.
Good idea. Bottom fishing on its way in the not so distant future
I'd LOVE to learn Winter Harbour (Vancouver Island), and Haida Gwaii/Langara/Massett!
It’s coming!
More videos!
I can attest to the salmon and nori snack - it is DELICIOUS!! Great video you guys!
Awesome! Thank you!
Great video and thanks for the great local knowledge of where and when. Keep these vids coming!
@@ivanchu1164 Thank you. Much appreciated
Love Hardy! Great job on the video and edit. Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it! Much appreciated
Me and buddy fished there three years ago with wade he took us across to the main land in the morning for the three days we were there on a guided trip we brought it was amazing we got lots of fish Now I’m thinking of bringing my boat there
That's awesome! There’s many spots we’d like to feature in future episodes. Let us know how you do when you bring your own boat up. Tight lines 🎣
👍🏻🇨🇦
Absolutely odd #’s on DR’s. 47’ and 57’ unless fishin the Central Coast 27’ at some locals. Communicated with Wade on several occasions always helpful. Thanks for the vid. 🎣
Glad you enjoyed the episode! 47’ is a dynamite depth 🎣
@@GuidesGuideLooks like the Tackle Shack has been rebranded. Wade buy it?
Great video guys. Been enjoying all of them
Appreciate it! Thank you for watch
great tips and video ! just wondering which app you using for weather forecast ? thx
Thanks for watching! I’m using Windy app and predict wind
The most valuable info I have ever seen put in a video. 90% of the fish are caught by 10% of the fishermen. Everything wade talked about has to be put together to be that 10% . Only passed port hardy on the way to rivers inlet in 90s, hopefully someday make it back up that way.
Awesome! We’re glad you enjoyed it and you’re absolutely correct! Hopefully you get to fish there this year.
fun fact. a fish scientist i know told me that perches (the entire perch family) are the most common fish species on the planet and exist in every aquatic ecosystem.
Very interesting!
In most Western Washington lakes Yellow Perch are the largest biomass, I believe.
Tips are gold! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for watching brotha!
Next time I boat down to Hardy we need to go fishing!
That would be awesome!
Great production mates! Interesting that Wade was talking about the chinook substituting perch in their diet when the anchovies and herring aren’t in the area. For a couple days early last August we were catching high-twenties nooks with 12” rockfish in their stomachs.
Thank you! The feeding patterns of the Chinook in that area is definitely interesting. Looking forward to getting out this year and seeing what we can find.
Just found your channel and love it. Saying hi from port hardy
Awesome, Thank you! We’re heading to Hardy in the next episode. Stay tuned.
Great video, but turn off the disturbing music ;-)
lol “disturbing” 😅
Nice video! Can you do one for fishing in the Vancouver area?Familiar with the ocean, but new to fishing 😅
Absolutely! Sand heads is on the list among others.
nice wet release. are you aggressive with the depth, ie. bottom bouncing? i'm afraid to lose gear.
Thanks! Bouncing bottom and bringing it up about 2 ft. James likes to be aggressive with the bottom Tyler fishes more suspended. The key is to map the area you like to fish. Put in way points for shall spots or pinnacles that could interfere with your gear.
Great video. I have subscribed.
Awesome! 🙏 Thank you for subscribing
