Is House Music Dead? The Genre's Impact & Future | Sonic Threads
Просмотров 3986 месяцев назад
There’s a long argument that exists on where house music originated? Did it start in Chicago? Detroit? New York? Pioneers like Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles and The Hot Mix Five to name a few would create a genre and culture that’s influenced fashion, art music and club culture worldwide. That genre today is known as house music. Host Kelli Lemon takes us a journey on the sound that house built...

R.T. Coleman's brother Beverly Hill "Bundy" Coleman is my 5x great grandfather. They left out the fact that their parents were Mary Sims Coleman (1809-1870) and THE ENSLAVER Samuel Allen Coleman (1796-1870). LOOK IT UP! I applaud VPM History for making this amazing discovery, but that was an important detail.

I think the recipe is actually mud, sand, and straw. Mud is mostly clay and water, pure clay, sand, and straw would work the best.

This is awesome. I don't have the blood tribe but i do have a relative that married into my great grandmother's family in the 1600's on my peepaw side. Her name was keziah. Not sure how to spell her othee part of her name without looking at it in front of me. I figured i would look more on her tribe because i didn't know this one existed until today. I have cousins that do live on a reservation near the canadian border.

This is my grandparents 4 times over - and I am connected to Tuckers of Bermuda - I am connected to Tuckers two more times one by my mother making tue total 6 times over to William Tucker and Isota Ashe of Devon, England that lead to Henry St. George Tucker whose mother was a St. George family. That leads to this grandparents. I didn’t know this about my grandparents- most of my Tuckers ended up in Irwin, Berrien, Lowdens, Thomas County South Georgia and North Florida as Original Cowboys who had black Cowboys of the Tidewaters called Cow Hunters who hunted left over Spanish Cracker Cattles - which Ziba King also part of our family went to Florida to be called the King of Cattle. After Civil War one of Richard Tuckers slaves Elijah Tucker wanted to go back to Africa in 1865 so he paid for him and his wife and 9 children to return. Yet 3 children died in Africa and Elijah asked my great etc grandfather to return to he paid for their return and my great etc grandfather gave him land and cattle and they still live next to each other doing Cattle and Tobacco. So that is what happened to my side of the Tuckers from this family. I grew up on Plantations in Georgetown Coubty at Pawleys Island next to my cousins Tucker Plantation that became Litchfield Beach Country Club next to Brookgreen Gardens which my Henry Crawford Tucker of REv War wife was a Crawford of the Crawford Whitehouse Plantation near Georgetown that sells Andy’s Charleston Carolina Gold Rice under a different family who now owns the estate. Yet the Gullah I grew up where Cow Hunters as well and were some of the early Cowboys which some ended up in Georgia with Tuckers and my many other Cowboy families. I wonder if the 1619 Anthony Tucker and Isabel Tucker was slaves of Tuckers - my Jacob great grandmother is a descendent of George Tucker who grandparents where on that White Lion 1619 ship. That was given to Gov. Yeardley whose son marrried Cutis and gave my 10th GGFtaher famous slave George Jacobs to John Cutstis - later Martha Custis took some of my Jacobs to Mt. Vernon when she married George Washington yet George Jacobs son Daniel Jacobs my 9th GGF was released and freed in 1705 after being in Arlington Plantation when John Custis IV went to Williamsburg to live. These Jacobs went to Carolina and mixed with Gullah and then ended up with Tuckers in South Georgia - so the Slaves of 1619 of my family are mixed with the Tuckers that go back to Virginia in 1600’s and Bermuda hence St. George Bermuda with the Tucker house there. So that is how well the slaves and Tuckers, and other families cared about each other. We are all mixed - my Y-DNA even shows this to be true. History is so strange / my 4th Great Grandfather Jacob descendant of 1619 a Mulatto by census records and I have his Cowboy pic also married Martha Tucker which goes back to these Tuckers as well. But that is what is Tuckers became - first cowboys with Black Cow Hunters of Tuckers and Jacobs. History is so wild So cool we bore the first Christmas Tree - so cool

Well not exactly just mix mud, water and straw ! Clarify, mud already has water, what you need is the correct mixture of clay soil, correct mixture of rough sharp edged sand and then you can add some handfuls chopped straw to the mix (not hay, hay is for horses)! Not all soil is good for making adobe either, as you don't want soil that is too expansive when it gets wet, as that could literally crumble your building when exposed to moisture ! A good ratio of mixture to shoot for to make good strong adobe is 33% clay and 77% rough sand !!

House was started by gay Blk men on the south side of Chicago. this is not an argument. It just came at a time of increasing media attention, but even though jazz has been in NYC within a few years of it being in New Orleans, no one thinks it comes from NYC. the disrespect.
