Midseason 2021 Tomato Talk... Dozens of Varieties and How They Are Growing
Kept all of our volunteers!
Hope you love your trellis as much as I do!!
Everything is so far behind
Just trim off one of the tops and replant, it will be completely fine
I planted it in the compost pile next to a couple others I left to do or die 🙂
Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 for some good rain!!!
I can’t believe how big your peony is!!! Mine just broke ground
😮wow!!!
Does spring seem late to you this year?
No, the lilacs are 2 weeks early!
I wondered what your lettuce had done to be put in jail like that lol everything looks great Lanette
Nice idea about making a tomato powder from dehydrated skins (0:44). If you don't already have a video showing this process,, please consider making one. I am a new subscriber and I have clicked the bell icon so that I am notified when you post your videos.
I just dehydrate the tomatoes then chop them using either my Vitamix or a coffee grinder. There's nothing to it!
Let my mom try a purple Cherokee last night and she accused me of salting it I hadn't she said it was the best she had in 74 years!! Pretty cool 😎👍
Looks nice!
All my sunflowers have been eaten by a magical rabbit!! No access to garden but he gets in anyway
The dark tomatoes are the very best, teenagers have no idea.
Looks great Lanette 💕
Sometimes you need to threaten them into production!!
I didn't even know what they were when they were here!!!
Yeah for expansion!!!
Get better tasters.
Great tips
Eyes closed, Sun Gold all the way
Could you describe the flavors or how you use the squashes?
Cushaw is mild, I love it in breads and pies. This is the first time we've grown the other two, so I'll let you know!
Sun gold are the best flavored ever
I know, I know!! I didn’t label any of my tomatoes this year! I do know what a few of them are and I know what the cherries are…but the slicers…no clue. So I know what varieties I started but don’t know which is which. Next year I will label. This year’s fall garden I will label
Bravo for you being out so early in this heat! That lettuce will bolt today! How often do you have to replace the Slugo niblets? We are using diatomaceous earth around beds successfully but it needs to be replaced after any watering and rain. I am wondering if there was a cold event while the plants were growing that caused the shortened stems on the Bells of Ireland and others? It used to happen occassionally for me too. Never figured it out. Looks so peaceful in your garden. Enjoy!
Bells are a cool season plant, so more likely it was the first heat wave last month... The Sluggo Plus can take rain, I reapply every other week or so. Just don't sprinkle the DE on any blooms bc it's not good for the bees. I tried it last year around the peppers and it didn't help... Those earwigs are sneaky!
@@armstrongacres Thank you for the recommendation on Sluggo Plus. We will try it. Also we make a circle around the beds not on the plants. Those earwigs are nasty!
Looks great!! I’m relieved to see my dahlias are the same size as yours, thought something was wrong. Victoria blue salvia is an annual for us 😉
Garden looks great! Which state and city is the garden located? Thanks!
What is your zone or nearest city. I am south of Jacksonville Fl zone 9a.

The lettuce us just gorgeous! Tasty!
Great information! Thank you!! I actually just bought green bean seeds for the first time. I was going to have the kids start them inside in little dixie cups. I'm so glad I learned to wait until next month to plant them outside.
Thanks for sharing such good information!
Yummy!!!
I keep hearing good things about Homestead toms. And sund gold cherries .
Thank you for this video! I grew tomatoes for the first time last year and learned a lot with this video!
Hey Lynnette!!
Thank you so much for doing this! I finally was able to watch and learned sooo much!!
My first time growing vegetables was last year and I learned a lot. Just did tomatoes in too small containers but it made me want to try other things. My yard is too small for a large garden so I plan to get larger containers and try out tomatoes, summer squash and lettuce this year. Thank you for all of this information, I took a lot of notes and have ordered some seeds 😊
the people saying red only should make them do a blind test they clearly were rating them with their eyes and not taste stubborn I have family just like that don't like change.
I am zone 6 as well, thanks for sharing! I am very very new to gardening so looking forward to what I can learn in your videos.
Hi! Sew Grateful sent me your way. Know your stitching and love the ideas, now I can learn gardening. Off to start at the beginning!
Love Dalene! Where are you gardening?
Armstrong Acres well first year and am doing in buckets cos can’t bend well and squating is impossible. I am in Annapolis valley Nova Scotia Canada.. so our numbers are diff than yours we are in 6a /b in Cdn numbers
@@cindygaudet1390 check out Maritime Gardener. He's somewhere up there, too!
Armstrong Acres yes he is. And found equivalent, I am a 6a so in US that be a 7a.
Thank you Lanette!
The tomatoes look quite happy! I think calendula seeds look like dried up caterpillars lol
Great tour! Looks like everything is growing in really well
My garden looks really refreshed, too. Only had 3 cuke seeds left, but put them in.
Definitely keep the sexy pig!!!
Who would've thought?!
Oh wow L, your garden looks great! I look forward to watching it bloom. Here in NZ we're going into winter so not much is going on in my garden - got some brassica seedlings to transplant, and general tidy up.
Great video!! Those Moskovitch will keep producing until frost! Black cherry are AMAZING as well!!
