    Just watched this video again….my new Cadillac is running 1:58 at its fastest and 2:01s consistently. Love that I can relook at this with much more experienced eyes and see where I can make up some more speed. My car is not a momentum car….but I am wondering if I can somewhat treat it like it is. EX. My car can hit 140 on the straights but I have to scrub a ton of speed and overs,ow turn 1…slowing turn two…I am thinking if I brake earlier ..just before the first set of cones…and just brush the brakes to scrub some speed a little and load up the front end…can I hit turn one with momentum vs on throttle and just carry speed through. Things to practice on the sim I guess:)

    Funny thing that happened: I tried going into turn one the way you did in the s2000 in my car and ended up exceeding the track limit. One of the SCCA organizers appeared to be pretty upset. I was okay with the learning experience and not rattled at all. I lost a skidplate and had a red-faced guy practically yelling at me and when he asked me how fast I was going, I don't think he liked it when I smiled and said, "Almost 140 mhp." He told me by downshifting and doing that, I upset the balance of the car. To be clear, you did say most cars have a legitimate braking zone and it was totally my fault and a fun learning experience.

    SICK!!! Amazing! Passin' that Porsche with better driving skills was nutty! I got a wrx, goin to the Ridge soon, so I figured I'd download the map for asseto corrsa, and watch some tutorials first. I'm new to the racing scene. This was CRAZY COOL! Nice job teachin' and even better driving. 200HP , I got over 350 and you'd smoke me. I'm meeting a friend who has m3, stock. He says since he's got more ponies, he's gonna smoke me. • @karltaht2370
      @karltaht2370 10 месяцев назад

      The back section (especially 5-8) is really fun, but after a while the straight does feel like waiting. It's an interesting trade-off because T1 at 150 is exhilarating every time. Overall there's definitely more risk here vs the ridge, so you know you're leaving a decent amount on the table but its tricky to figure out if you should push for more.

    • @karltaht2370
      @karltaht2370 Год назад

      I honestly forgot how much I loved this track. I think the pavement was resealed here, it definitely has more grip than I remember. If everything was the same, and it was just the actual track that was different, I think I slightly prefer ORP, by narrow margin. It's definitely more technical, and can be an absolute riot to nail some of the blind corners and banks. But when you factor in the proximity of the Ridge, the facilities, and how professional they are, Ridge is an overall better experience. It's definitely worth coming to ORP at least once a year though!

    Aggressive reporting in. 😅 It was easy to be aggressive when I was in my early 30s, single, and driving my 05 STI and 94 Miata. STI is just so stable and wants to slide, and Miata was just too slow to get in trouble. But since those days I did a lot of R/C racing which taught me the importance of consistency. We'll see what happens in my new chapter of track days with my BRZ. So far I'm just slow, lol. I do think aggressiveness can still be a useful tool to break a plateau, or improve setup, though. Your Ridge track analysis was hugely helpful in preparing me for my first track day at the Ridge a couple weeks ago. Looking forward to more vids!
