Beautiful Van ! Have a look at the Boss Jockey Wheel system !
A good topper fixes the mattress problem yes all Caravans come with a prison mattress !
Have you had any issues with your Lotus leaking water? We got our Lotus OffGrid with Trooper Spec Electrical 2 years ago from the Sydney Show, and the last 12 months can't stop it leaking. Friends got a Lotus Trooper at the same show at the same time and theirs leaks as well.
That’s unfortunate to hear. We havn’t had any issues with it leaking luckily. Have you gotten in contact with the warranty team to solve it ?
@sandyexpeditions Yes already been fixed under warranty once but still leaks.
Great video guys!! Looked like a fun trip!! 👍👍
Thanks mate 🤙
Congratulations guys, another enjoyable video,I personally love the wildlife and beautiful views. Well done
Very nice
That 79 is so nice should be in more trips
We put a black jack elec jack. The wind up was horrible to use. Ours is a trooper
We actually purchased a Black Jack, we’re looking at doing an install/ review video in the near future 😀
how much did it cost?
3 days water from 95+95+50 litre? I listened to that part a few times to make sure I was hearing that right. That's a bit higher than the 10-15 litres a day that I use including a shower.
Gal chassis for our new 19’6 van added 80Kg.
Oh wow, I didn’t realise it was that much of an increase. Good to know, thanks for the feedback 🙏
Same old story, unfortunately you can’t road test a caravan so you must do your research and talk to as many current owners as possible.
The only way is to get out there and do your own testing and research, as you can never be too sure.
Our favourite getaway close to home. Love this area of the south coast
Definitely a beautiful spot that’s for sure
Great video guys, love it when you bring the doggo’s. Our little jack Russell comes everywhere with us 🤙🏻
Glad you enjoyed it mate, part of the enjoyment is seeing the dogs having a good time.
@@sandyexpeditions Yes I agree 🐶🐾🐾👍👍
Love your work guys and the doggos 🐾 we’ll done, you showed us another great spot !
Thankyou 🙌🙌
Another great video, very enjoyable, well done guys 👍
👍👍
Well done guys great video. Beach driving in dark looked awesome 🤙🏻
Spider fobia😢
All part of the fun! 😅
Hey mate, when towing through there, are you using 4h or 4l
Hey buddy, was in 4L, had the rear locker on in a couple of spots and engaged the fronts also on the last climb out 👌🏼
Good god, turn down the volume of the music!
Be Jesus, you got your hearing aid set too high.......
Thanks for the feedback. Audio is something we're working on... stay tuned!!
Hi Guys, thanks for the advice, we don't own a Lotus but used You Tube for advice, and it was valuable in buying our van. Our Van is 16Ft and a few things I didn't want to compromise on, was the door at the rear as I didn't want my door opening at my bed. The compromise was I lost my cafe lounge to the L shape which doesn't really bother me. I also didn't want a Shower / Toilet combined.
Thanks for tuning in! Setting up a van is definitely a personalised experience! We recently visited the Sydney Supershow and must admit, loving the new designs coming out with the double doors (front and rear). Separates the spaces really well, especially if you have kids or are planning to in the future. Happy caravanning!
Another 79 series…. Like lost sheep
Was either a 79 or chopped 200 series to tow our size van and suit our needs. Wasn’t a fan of a Ram as they aren’t as practical on the tracks. But it’s not for everyone 😉
Rams are actually brilliant. Have more power for towing, far more comfortable than a 79, better turning circle, heaps better sounding V8, silky smooth auto. And they would be better on fuel than a 79. 79’s are a farmer vehicle, old in every way really, and the small v8 is underpowered. Better in the 200, but still short of a petrol v8
Looks like a awesome spot guys, so good you brought the doggos too 🐶🤙🏻
Thanks mate, have you been before ?
@@sandyexpeditions no never been, but I’d like too 👍
Its Billy goat bluff track. Not goats. And going down is easy. Want a challenge. Try Crooked river going up Billy.
Thanks for the tips! A few places in the Vic High Country yet to be ticked off our bucket lists. More of Crooked River is definitely up there!
Hoping some van company decides to do a downforce fan just above the door to create an air curtain to keep the bugs out.
This is at the top of our wish-list too! 🧞♂️🤞
Yes good one guys your right the air bags are a must
100%. Once you have them, they’re a non-negotiable!
I wonder if having the shower adjacent to the kitchen whether you’d lose less water keeping both hot water taps close?
Interesting thought! Our guess is you’d probably lose a little bit more the further the water has to travel through the pipes.
Iv had 2 Lotuses. Got a new one coming in September. I should start a blog on what the dos n don’t s are 😂 We live in ours and have 2 kids. Been on the road full time for 4 years now. Have learnt a lot 👍
Thanks for watching. I’m sure you’d have a wealth of knowledge and we’d love to hear about your experience! 😊Hoping we’ll be able to hit the road full-time within the next 12 months, if not sooner🤞
Yes please Anton
I see a lot of caravans put the toilet cassette access hatch on the same side as the awning near where people cook and eat when outside. This is a complete deal breaker for me
That’s a great point! Lotus have a few different floor plans but for us, we haven’t experienced any issues. Our slide-out outdoor kitchen is on the same side but a fair distance away and the cassette hatch is lockable and well sealed so we haven’t noticed any stench.
I can see as a couple not as much as an issue but with kids think it would be an issue at some point. I am looking to buy and I like having an annex more than an awning and it would be like emptying into a room
Another great point, can see how that’s not ideal. We’ve actually thought about getting an annex but we’re yet to consider the impact of emptying the cassette. Currently we are emptying every few days to keep it fresh and as we do more touring and weekend trips rarely stay in the same spot for more than 2 nights so it hadn’t crossed our minds.
Great clip with some good advice. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences
Thanks for watching, hope this video has helped in some way 😊
Great video guys! Hopefully this helps someone in making a decision. Thanks for sharing 🤙🏻
Thanks for tuning in! We hope so too 😊
~2500kg trailer, extra water and batteries and you guys worry about 12 kg for a galvanised chassis 😂
Thanks for your feedback. Tare weight is just under 3 tonne from factory unloaded. Setting up a van is a personalised experience and different set-ups suit different trips. It requires compromise, especially with 3 dogs weighing over 100kg combined 😅 If we did add an additional water tank, we’d compromise in a different area to reduce the weight. Cheers
Rewatching it. Defintively awesome. Splendid and brilliant!
Thank you, we really appreciate your support and feedback!
Fantastic video guys, thanks for sharing such a spectacular views.
Thank you! 😊
Great country. Be up there again in a few weeks. Love Dargo
Great track, can’t wait to head down that way again… Craig’s Hut is still on the list!
@@sandyexpeditions yep, beautiful country. Pop Merijig, Jamison, Kevington and Woods Point on the list when you are over that way.
Fantastic shots. Thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks folks. The swag toss off the roof made me laugh lol. Seeing the hotel rules was a nice touch (they need those rules at every campsite hehe). Yep, definitely looks bloody steep! The cruiser loved it. How does it ride on those bumpy rocky tracks seeing it is set up for heavy towing? Cheers
Cheers mate - it’s definitely some steep country. The Cruiser performed exceptionally well, being twin locked definitely helps. When we aren’t towing we let the bags right down. We opted for a lighter spring set-up so we’re still able to enjoy the tracks without the van and also have the option to pump the bags up when towing, makes a difference!
Cracker video guys! Would’ve been an unreal experience 🤙🏻
Thanks Archie - indeed an unreal experience. Might have to plan a trip once you get your Cruiser!
@@sandyexpeditions most definitely mate 👍👍

Amazing views and great footage.
Glad you enjoyed it!
What track was that car rolled on .
It was the powerlines track in Glasshouse Mountains QLD 🤦 Edit: Based on the title of the video, I'm going to guess the roll over occurred early on on the Billy Goat's Bluff Track?
@@intimatespearfisher Junction Spur Track, a few km south of Billy Goats.
It also features in this video by some one else coming down hill on a motorbike. ruclips.net/video/m4yu8JKhAQI/видео.html
