Chicago would have been amazing. A lot of the big names at parties in Seattle were from Chicago and I loved it. The night i saw Bad Boy Bill was big for me. also got to party in San Fransisco and Vancouver, BC. It was good to be 19. I was heavy on the NWRaves email list. I'm sure Chicago had a similar thing going on. It felt so good to party that summer (1998). It felt like the future.

Thanks for your question! Miss Velvet and DJNANCYGIRL are the same person (me). Miss Velvet is my fashion design company. DJNANCYGIRL was my dj name from when I spun vinyl in the late 90's/early00's. I record using the Serato DJ Pro program onto my computer. Then we make all the images for the set. Then I edit them together and post. The images are made using and AI program (Stable Diffusion), but the editing is all done by a human. We make the images especially for the set.

@@positivibeespreadingpositi6439 i love jungle! that's cool you still spin vinyl. my vinyl was cruelly taken away from me. but it's okay. i don't miss carrying it around. i spun a lot of (new school) breaks which isn't exactly very popular. i still like it! a lot of the uk bass and breaks sound really good still. so much good music coming out every week in every genre.

so good to hear from you, my favorite commenter. i thought you forgot about me! i recorded a new set this week and it will be up like in a day or so. it's speed garage again with an extra half hour of sketch at the end. the weather has been extra hot here so i've been lazing around in the 90 degree sun. it's gonna be snowy soon and i'll have nothing to do but stay indoors and make more darkwave sets. also have a jungle set ready to go. do people still listen to jungle?

had some copyright issues with the set. don't know why i am telling you this. you don't care. when i record a set, i upload just the set before i put any pictures on it so to make sure there are no copyright issues. i did this and there were none. then i put all the pictures on it and uploaded. suddenly youtube had a problem with three of the songs. totally copyrighted, can't play out loud. so i had to take these songs out. they were: Caribou - Broke My Heart, Tommy Holohan & Megra - Show Me The Sky, and Lu.Re - Take Me Up. they are all on youtube but i guess they aren't dj songs. that's why this set is late. because youtube sucks. and those labels suck and everyone sucks. hold tight for the new set! should be up within the hour if there are no new problems. one of those songs isn't even garage so who cares.

it's probably my fault for not knowing what is popular. i used to listen to the BBC but i stopped in 2020. couldn't deal with it anymore. i'm so out of the popular music loop now. pete tong could be dead and i wouldn't even know. i'd rather die than listen to ts.

i record with the Serato DJ pro. so yeah the S11 works in that. i didn't have to pay extra for the pro or anything. i love this mixer. but do i wish it had kill switches like my old mixer in the 90s.

Thank you for your comment! The visuals were made as a social commentary on visual AI and how stupid (or stupidly wonderful) it is. Money shall never be made from this. Actually losing money because I buy the music. And the music I play has many AI generated covers. And many businesses doing advertising right now are using AI. We should boycott them? The cat's out of the bag. Legitimate art will still be made. All of fashion is a copy of other fashion. And I how do I know you are not an AI ragging on AI? AI a part of our life, and I want people to be able to spot it. Let’s have some fun before the world ends.

i have no internet until wednesday. then we will have fiber and i can get going again on more often mixes. rural slow internet is killing me. it took 24 hours to upload this set. i keep dreaming it's wednesday already.

So happy you like the video! We use a computer drawing program to make the pictures. We fed in the first picture (the three girls is a real picture I took in the past) to re-imagine other computer made pictures to get a 90's rave vibe. The computer can take a picture of a real person and draw them at any age in any situation. The program we use is Stable Diffusion with a style adapter, sometimes called an IP adapter. We also feed in themes from the songs and artists. And then I edit them together, which is the most time consuming. But it's fun to edit video! Here's to more sunny days in the UK. God knows you need it.

@@missvelvet Holy crap! That sounds insane! Haha! Does this program use artificial intelligence? I would love to see how this works in real-time! You can seriously feed in themes from *songs* to influence the picture? I've honestly never heard of such things. That seems like absolute witchcraft to me! Lol. And thank you! It's raining today :) I don't mind it. Our weather just does whatever she wants. UK weather really suits my temperament.

@@Good.Luck.Friend777 The computer program is considered artificial intelligence but it isn't that smart. A lot of the pictures aren't appropriate for the community standards of youtube (as I found out the hard way). It takes the computer 3 to 20 minutes to make one picture depending on how many steps you want to do. More steps gets a better picture. After I record the set we listen back to it to find all the themes and the computer makes pictures for two or three days straight. All our themes are queued up, and then they are edited into the video. A lot of the pictures are garbage but it's fun to see what you can get the computer to do. Our normal computer can do it but if we had a really fast one, we would be able to do live pictures with a live set, but it probably wouldn't be safe for work. It would be neat visuals for a party though. We just moved out of a rainy place into a high desert. I am loving the hot weather. But in the winter it will be straight snow. Snow if fun!

@@missvelvet Heyy! I hope you have a great time in the snow! This Summer seems to be going by lightning fast! Haha! But it'll come around just as quickly. I hope I can make the most of the ones we have left. I just looked up Stable Diffusion. To my understanding, it's a free-to-use software with an upgrade plan. Microsoft Designer offers a similar service but with much fewer options, I think. I would love to play around with it when I get the time. It sounds like the way you're doing it is kind of complicated, though...

@@Good.Luck.Friend777 we only started making pictures 4 months ago. This is our first project: ruclips.net/video/u1LBSJneiv0/видео.html it's a rough video with no editing and really random pictures. It has seven down-votes! More than any other video we put out. We didn't know what we were doing back then. There are modules you can download that make certain looks. Like if you wanted to make things look like they are made of cut paper or honey. It's really fun to see what's new in the community of AI people. They are putting new things out all the time. It's cool because the program already knows about most things so it doesn't use any internet. Like, it will draw a picture of most celebrities. One of our videos has Queen Victoria as a 20 year old eating burgers and fries in a burger king. lol. not sure if she really looked like that but it works for me.

it is only on youtube. is there a website to upload sets where people can download besides torrents?

thanks! just moved to the middle of nowhere (La Pine, Oregon) and the internet is spotty until they can bury some fiber next month. haven't had slow internet since the 90s. might be a couple weeks before i can upload a new set. it's killing me. i haven't heard any new songs that came out last week because i literally got this slow internet 5 minutes ago. and this is what i did first. i mean, it's great here in la pine. got the dream property in the mountains. all kinds of wildlife and stuff. tolerant oregon is a wonderful place.
