I fix all sorts of electronics, though of late, mostly phones and gaming consoles.
I also explore broken electronics that may or may not at all be repairable. I'm still learning micro-soldering, but am able to do much of the basics, such as port swaps, trace repairs, component replacements, and basic circuit diagnostics. I generally release a video on every Monday and Friday

Ima just reuse the battery that was already in the phone for the new housing. Still in good shape
I've done that before. My parts provider occasionally leaves the battery in the frame for pulls. Has saved me some time
Enjoying these... Thanks 👍
I need note 9 screen How much is it
@@ConfidenceIzuchukwu-c5d depends on what country you're in. Prices vary. I recommend googling the part you need, plus the country you are in. Something like "Samsung Galaxy Note 9 screen replacement sale Canada" is what I would use if I didn't have a local parts provider
@TalmiiorFixesStuff am from Nigeria 🇳🇬
It's a simple question of logic. Of course, a factory reset does not bring a battery to 100%. Otherwise, there would be nowhere used iPhones with not 100% battery. As far as I know you need just an additional battery tag for the programming, which is reusable afterwards.
@@haigha-qb4kf the tag on flex does not work with iOS 17 unfortunately.
Interesting fix. I’m sorry it took much longer than expected (because that will mess up your calculation). I’ve some fingers in my family’s iPhones now and then and except from battery changes most stuff takes longer than I estimate. Well, for the next iphone 14 display, now you know... 😂
12:22 Thank you very much for explaining how to figure out where the shorter screws are supposed to go. You're the only person I've seen who's done a note 9 teardown who explains this.
happy to help :)
i have this phone and it just broke today. it has a green, black, and purple line about 1 inch thick going from the bottom to the top and from right to left. i am trying to switch over to my new google phone but it is having trouble being touched and occasionally freezes. Samsung smart switch is what i am trying to use but i cant see what I'm touching making it very difficult. if you have any tips or anything that could help it would be very much apricated. Thank you!
@@Carter_7-xl4zx try to find yourself either a busted screen that still works, or another A8, busted screen or not, as long as it works, just cracked glass. Transfer the motherboard over to the A8 with the functional screen. Then you should be able to install smart switch. If ya have difficulties doing that, a technician might be willing to do it on the cheaper side if you don't expect it to be anything other than just functional. The freezing bit is a little concerning. It might just be the screen doing it though. The back glass on the A8 is made of glass, so be careful, wear safety glasses and gloves, especially if you have never worked on an android phone before
Same problem
Great work! There's only one question: why?
@@stefangozda3441 why what??
@@TalmiiorFixesStuff Why are you bothering to repair such a piece of junk? Wouldn't it be much cheaper to buy a used one in good condition? I don't know what the cost of spare parts is in your country (screen, back glass, battery) or what the labour cost is, but in my country it would be absolutely unprofitable. The spare parts alone would be twice the value of whole good phone.
@@stefangozda3441 I fixed it for far less than the phone was worth. So it is worth it. You may want to look around for other parts providers, as it sounds like your sources are expensive. Try REWA as one example. Screen and battery are cheap, back glass is extremely cheap, though the machine that helps remove it is a fortune
@@TalmiiorFixesStuff What was the cost of spare parts you used?
@@stefangozda3441 I think around $60 Canadian
Just my 2 cents : Theres a Screen + frame part so you don't have to go through the hassle of having to remove the screen from the frame
@@ca280491 it was a bunch more expensive compared to just the screen on its own so I went for just the screen
Update the phone to iOS 18. Then you can pair the new battery to the phone and get 100% battery health back.
I tried this with another phone. It doesn't work unfortunately. Also, the main reason it doesn't work is because this isn't a different battery charge control board, from a different phone, but from the same phone. I have also tried using a used battery from another iphone on another phone I was working on, expecting it to do the sync thing, but it just gave me the normal stupid "unknown battery" error message.
very good as usual👍👍
what kind of batterie do you recommend me for this same model ?
@@deadlight5570 I buy most of my parts from mobile sentrix. You should be able to look up your phone's model on the site. They have a Canadian website and a USA website. Be careful with ebay batteries. They can be pretty bad scammers. One last recommendation! I have purchased batteries from REWA in the past and their batteries are very good, just expensive to ship, so you need to buy in bulk.
did the wrong camera in wrong slot short something?
@@Rainaman- yup, the cameras in reverse order I believe may have shorted the graphics chip
@@TalmiiorFixesStuff You have to actually be kidding me, there is literally no way, that had to have been 100% intentional, as there is literally NO reason that it should be that way. I'm sure someone down the chain probably raised a concern of "Huh these two components shouldn't have the EXACT SAME ribbon cable. That could cause issues down the line and cause someone to lose their entire phone." Only to be told to shut up and compartmentalize it by a higher up. Even if one of our repair technicians in house mess up and swap the two." like AT LEAST it should have had a little letter on the board and back of the camera housing to indicate which goes were. @@TalmiiorFixesStuff I am livid cause there is literally no reason that. If they are physically interchangeable. There should be no reason it’s not interchangeable in the software. Are semi finished batteries easy to install just like normal battery or not?
I'm assuming you're talking about blank, or raw terminal batteries? I'd say they do take more time to prep to install. Carrying over and connecting up the phone's old battery charge controller takes usually an additional 20 minutes or so, and you need a low powered spot welder made for lithium batteries for the process. It's possible to do this also with a soldering iron, but I've found it takes more work to get it to work.
@@TalmiiorFixesStuff yes you are right.. it’s was just for the sake of research purposes and gaining knowledge.. Thanks for the feedback
Note! If after cleaning the speakers, they are still buzzing, it is very likely that the speaker has some material inside of it. The most common reasons for buzzing outside of a dirty speaker grill is either iron dust has gotten into the speaker, or the speaker itself is damaged. In either case, the only fix is to replace the speaker
Do you still have to reprogram the screen if the new ios18 came out and it is fine to swap parts between two original apple phones.
@@MattyMeCubic I honestly don't know. iOS 18 came out two days ago, so I haven't encountered iOS 18 yet. It's possible reprogramming may no longer be necessary. It will be though if the screen is an aftermarket

I wish they would make phones like the GS5 again. Reviewers always complain if a phone isn't made from glass and metal, but everyone shoves their phone in a bulky plastic case :/ Just cut out the middle man and give us plastic phones back again that we can drop without them smashing or getting huge dents in.
@Vanu-i4o would be nice, but even the iPhone 5 had a glass screen. They were super hard to work on and the frames tended to bend. Still, I don't think using glass for a back cover has ever been a good idea. EDIT: Just realized you were probably talking about the Samsung Galaxy S5, which would make more sense, since its frame I think was mostly plastic. That was a very good phone
hi love your videos, my I ask you something, what's the best to do when the back glass is broken , replacing the frame or taking lot of time to remove parts of the broken glass and replace it ?
@deadlight5570 thank you for supporting my channel! :D If you have the laser machine, it's cheaper to replace the back glass, but very messy and time consuming. Replacing the entire frame and transferring the parts over will always result in a better repair, as sometimes the laser overshoots and burns the frame, or the frame is dented and scratch from what broke the back glass. A nice new frame and back glass module together is definitely the way to go if you're fine with the extra cost of the part.

Have you damaged the board or flex laser while using the laser machine. And what brand do you recommend it ?
I haven't damaged the board or flex (ribbon) cables using the machine, though my machine does have a template that as long as you have sited in the plate that holds the phone, it will not hit any cables or the board. I have a while back broke the flash on an iPhone 11 before while clearing the glass away around the cameras. Never again! I have been extra careful around the flash and cameras ever since. Wasted an hour replacing a $5 part. Was so frustrating. The one I use is from REWA, Refox brand. You don't need the one with the screen. The standalone version ya hook up to a computer works just fine, but whatever is easiest for ya. I've liked it so far. I do usually 3 passes, since it's just I think a 5 or 10 watt laser.
@TalmiiorFixesStuff is the software from refox updatable for the latest iPhone models ?
@@aktech3271 They usually keep pretty up to date. What I currently have on my machine is up to the iPhone 14 pro max. The 14 plus and 14 though aren't worth doing a backglass replacement on, since it is more of a back cover than a back glass. Don't need a machine to laser it to replace it. I think that is the same with the iPhone 15 series.

I completely agree. I have a white iPhone XR I uploaded a video of not too long ago, and it's pretty messed up. I could just replace the back glass, but I'd prefer to just do a full frame replacement, which is what I'll be doing. Replacing the back glass is the one job I hate doing the most. @@Evan-zr4dd unfortunately it means there is damage to the display itself. I don't know of anyway to fix that damage. I would just replace the screen. If you can go with Apple and it's still under warranty, try going to Apple. They might do it for free if it's under warranty. If not, try a local aftermarket repair tech and ask for their price points on a screen replacement

No problem. I think I misread your comment somewhat. If you plan to do the repair yourself, make sure you buy from a reputable supplier, or has at least a very good rating. Recently I heard of a shop I'm not affiliated with, installed a screen for someone, and it had a virus embedded in the screen's firmware.

Lol that's got to be an odd experience!
I'm sorry this wasn't the best framed video. I don't record at my soldering desk nearly as much as my standing work desk, so I keep forgetting where the camera is pointing.
No tag on flex or programmer?
@@xddarko what I used is a pre programmed tag on flex , as seen in the video. Note though that as of iOS 17, until another workaround is discovered, it is no longer possible to get 100% battery health, unless the device you are working on is below iOS 17 (iOS 16.X and below)
Pls get a proper pry tool, also you don’t have to take off front screen just put tape or a protector over it, for the back glass you have to get a flat tool and really get the edges or it will never sit right
My pry tool works perfectly fine. I've tried the "proper pry tools" and they leave much to be desired. I've been doing this for a couple years now. First! Yes, you really REALLY need to take the screen off. One piece of glass gets inside, and it will, because there are holes that lead into the interior of the phone, you will have a damaged screen. It has happened to me listening to advice like yours, TWICE. The screen needs to come off. For this one, it didn't sit flat, but this almost never happens to me. Using the #17 chisel blade has been a very reliable method of finding glass remnants and getting rid of excess glue down to the metal of the frame for the edges. My guess is, once again, there was a bend or break in the frame from the drop and I just didn't notice it. Please don't be sharing around such bad advice as leaving the screen on. These screens can be very expensive, and taking a chance of not removing the screen is a chance you will never take again once you damage the screen just once, just because you wanted to save 10 minutes on the repair. The last time I left the screen on, that was a good screen, a piece of glass slipped inside the phone and worked its way down between the camera lens shield and the screen. This was an iPhone 12 Pro Max in that occasion. That screen is expensive. When I put the phone in the press to let the glue dry evenly, it came out with dead pixels when before there were none. Another thing is that when you have it shut up like that with the screen still in place, it leaves a lot of soot from the laser burning the back glass. That is not something that should remain inside the phone and can damage the camera, and generally, leave a perpetual nasty smell coming from the phone. So no, YOU MUST REMOVE THE SCREEN
Yes, you can use direct voltage!!! You connect 3.7V (positive and negative), and the white and green each one you connect a resistor to negative or ground. These last cables are to enable shipmode, which is basically hibernating the speaker. Finally, you connect the micro USB
@@antonio_stradivari are you saying doing that will fix the won't turn on issue?? I can give it a go. What resistor value should I use?
Yeah! It worked for me because a battery mosfet was damaged, so I tried to do that. In the case of this model, there are problems with the USB port, due to the soldering.
The resistors I used were 10K
let me know anything issue
@@antonio_stradivari I'll make sure to give that a go. Sounds like a really may need to just replace the whole battery with its charge controller in the end though, if it's a blown mosfet
