8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth Controller left stick drift
I've just received my new controller from 8bitdo with hall sensors. I tried to update software and calibrate, but without success.

I don't have drift issue yet, but I have joystick bounce issues. e.g. choosing option A (top) and option B (down) placed horizontally. To choose option B from A, I would simply bring the (left) joystick down. But sometimes the recoil of the joystick returning back to the center would bounce too hard that it goes way above center, thus causing the selection to be on option A again. Obviously I'm no expert, so I hope anyone reading this can understand, and if there's an official name for this issue. My guess is something about deadzone?
It's hall effect stick though?
yes. Maybe it's just me being so lucky, but it's a defect that can't be fixed without good electrical engineering skills. Here's a link to what it looked like in the game mega.nz/file/op1wXBZS#msMjiO1Q5JrRrBY44fUzimr0BinK-Qao2G5Nb6FxnNY
Did you try to blow hard inside the stick? It temporarly solves the issue for me, so I guess it's some dirt. I'll have to open it and check...
yep and it was useless
@@antisaint87 Mine is still on warranty. i sent him back, hopefully they'll give me back the money and I'll get a GameSir T4 Pro for less money....
Stop being so rough with your controller
it’s 2024, U think Gamers nowadays take it easy?
I just got this controller and thr right stick is already drifting lmao
@@slayer8790 Bruh I've had ut for 3 months my controller works just fine
That's not even close to rough
sad, i got mine like around 8 month ago. but suddenly mine start drifting like this even tho i'm not touching it. it's really annoy me, and I am upset because it's my fav green controller damn duh. of anyone somehow find out the solution please let me know :(
This is low battery
terrible company, got 4 ultimate controllers, they all have they same issue, analog movement is not linear, each firmware fixes one thing and breaks another. the best I can do is use v1.4 where I have to hold the button down to boot the controller turn the sticks in circles, then unplug and replug the controllers back in and then they still slightly snap lock to the cardinals. if anyone knows how to fix them once and for all , let me know
Hi friend, did you fix it?
No.
What aoiut the right stick? I seems to have a little stick drift. Mine have it on both sticks, about 0-1%, buit it seems to bo couse of inner mechanism doesnt center the stick. It`a about 0.5mm loose until I can feel resistance from springs. Is it normal? It`s only a week old.
Same issue with my cotroller. 4 months only.
Maybe its dirt or a defect, but this version does not have the hall sensor...
It was new, right out of the box. And this is the hall sensor version (ultimate bluetooth). You can clearly see it by the color of the buttons
why you didn't returned and buy another one, this seems to be a fabric default and should have warranty
I could return it, but shipping it back to China would cost half the price of the gamepad + a high chance that the package could be rejected by customs in China. Aliexpress refunded me half the cost, that's all I could get.
any update? mine just started drifting today, don't know how to fix it
Try to fix drift by calibration in the software.
How long did you have the controller bro?
It was new and didn't work straight out of the box.
This is happening to mine, (Bluetooth version, playing on Switch) which I only purchased and received 3 days ago. Updated firmware, have calibrated, repeatedly, fully charged still happening. Going to return it but, I’m commenting here as all reviews of this controller highlight that it SHOULDN’T suffer from stick drift, but this seems to be a common issue.
Yep, my controller just got worse and worse and now I'm googling fixes. Something must be wrong with the sensors because mine are drifting and flickering even though their position remains 100% static.
Same. If you find a solution, let me know.
Did you fix it?
No, I couldn't. The problem is not with the sticks or the hall sensors, some electrical interference appears out of nowhere and interferes with the operation of the hall sensors. I tried to solder a capacitor, it helped a little but did not fix the situation completely, I was able to calibrate somehow, but the next day after I turned it on again, it got worse and now I can't even go into the calibration menu. Customer service refused to send me a new board even though I was willing to pay for it. At this point I'm done.
@@antisaint87 it's a shame this controller was looking quite sexy. I'll just get the King Kong Pro 2 instead
t4 kaleid
It shoudnt do that, perhaps theres something interfering the magnets on the hall sensors?
I swapped magnets and result was same, so I'll try to replace hall sensor
@@antisaint87 Yes do that, if the problem still persists on that exact spot and same drift pattern. You mightve got a defected gamepad but not the analogs. Edit: you can also calibrate controllers through windows own software not the 8bitdo’s. might wanna look on that
Did you update the firmware?
Yep.
calibrates it, it seems to be some kind of calibration error
Calibrating didn't help(
