Fern was one of the saddest characters in adventure time he was forced to do things because of the emissary from beyond pretty sure that’s what the demons name was and when he was in control he disintegrated as nothing was keeping him stable

I wish Fern was able to go to the human island and see his mom like Finn was able to for closure. I feel bad knowing he never got to see her face or hug her.

Fern as a character is just so sad to think about. It’s literally just finn but in a grass body, he’s not a fake Finn, he’s literally the Finn we all know but in a grass body. Imagine being you your whole life, and then one day you wake up to find yourself being shunned and antagonized because you’re an alleged demon version of somebody else. All the friends u thought were friends act like they don’t know you, all the things you enjoyed you no longer can experience, and then you have to compare yourself to the “real” version of you just to find out you’re inferior in every way, even tho up until this point that person was you. And it hurts even more when characters like jake force themselves to treat fern like an equal, and then probably makes fern feel even worse because he can tell nobody wants anything to do with him, except Finn, which is the person fern lost his humanity to essentially. Such a miserable existence, this may sound bad but it was probably for the best that he ended up losing his life at the very end, because even though he ended up slaying the demon that made him malicious, it still would’ve more or less been the same life.

Fern is a copy of Finn from another timeline, combined with a cursed sword that contained a demon, who then died after freeing himself of his demonic influence, became a seed which was then planted in the ruins of his home, grew into a new tree. Which, thousands of years later, grew a sword which came into the possession of what if I understand things right, is the reincarnation of his other self. Only in Adventure Time people.

I oddly relate with fern and finn, fighting yourself in a figurative way, theres so much emotion with these two, yea there was that fictional character aspect to it, but there was also that mental anguish we have in reality, I need to rewatch adventure time
