Added a third bearing block for mainshaft support.I was going after a bad vibration and wobble which seemed to happen all of a sudden.Found that one of the metal balls on the elevator servo was gone leaving only one rod in control. This was giving it a bad flutter in the blades causing the wobble.I averted disaster thus time.

This is a sweet build man! It looks awesome! Cheers
Thank you for the compliment and commenting. I was building this for a buddy and near the end of the build he offered it to me at a good deal.He was afraid to fly it.
Красивая модель, для управления нужны стальные яйца и опыт.
Man, thats a beauty!!
@@JohnVHRC Thank you!
Todd, I must say you have a awesome fleet of helicopters and they all fly so perfect. I’m gonna try my hand at building my first 700 jet ranger waiting on the airframe to come in and I still need to purchase the fuselage. Might call you if I need some help.lol
Thanks for the compliment.Feel free to message me with any questions and I'll be more than happy to help if possible.
Thats awesome, hope my longer mainshaft shows up soon so I can get mine going!
@JohnVHRC Thanks John.I know you will enjoy flying it once you get it going!
What's the maximum flight time possible on a 700 size heli?
@@datvik7187 Depends on flight pack size and how aggressive you fly.Me using two 6000mah packs flying moderate scale,I can safely get 7-8 minutes.
@@todddemaria9600 thank you for insight! Hope to get my self a Roban 700 soon!
@@datvik7187 you're welcome. They are definitely a cool bird to fly.
Hello, beautiful heli! May I ask if you reversed the rotation of the Trex mechanics? Also what length main blades are you using? I am currently researching so as to build one. Cheers!
Yes I reversed the rotation by flipping the one way bearing and reversing motor.Blades are Roban 700 size blades that are 600mm.I am also using longer tail blades to help counteract the inertia if a 5 blade head.Hope this helps!
Great job my friend! Always one of the best!
Thank you Mark!Greatly appreciated!
Love this! The tone and the soulfulness of Todd’s playing is so much fun to listen to. ❤🎸
Thanks Kirk!Coming from you that means alot because your a beast on guitar!
What scale is your pilot?
10 inch.I believe about 1/7th scale.From warbirdpilots.com
Dumb question, who the heck is Jon Ellis. Isn't that a Roban 800 super scale kit?
Lovely job what size trex mechanics have you in it ?
Align 700.It was my 3d heli for years so I knew they were tough mechanics.I retired them into the MD.
that's is so cool i love it . sounds grerat !
Thank you!

You play that horn beautifully ! I love the Getzen Severinsen . its my favorite horn to play ! Very beautiful unique sound and you certainly have it mastered ! May I ask what mouthpiece you are using ?
Thank you Ed.I believe I was using my Doc Severinsen piece from Pickett Brass.
Would it be possible to have photos of your Shockwave Sound system installation?
May I know what size or speaker and location u install the speaker? Thank you
may i know what kind of speaker you are using, thank you
I am using two 2" transducers and a 4" Visaton 8ohm speaker
@@todddemaria9600 It was just what you are looking for. May I ask where can I find the audio file? Can I use it with MrRCsound Aspire? Thanks for the reply
@@mariocascella6946 Audio file comes with the Shockwave system from Model Sounds Inc. It is a company based in Canada.
@@mariocascella6946 modelsoundsinc.com/index.php
Brilliant Todd. I have just received mine here in the UK from Motion RC Europe. I was considering putting the ESS in it, now your video has convinced me. Well done.
Thank you Kevin!
How do you like the Severinsen horn? I just picked one up, a 1974 model, hope that I can play half as well as you do, excellent performance.
Thank you John for the kind words!I really love the horn.I have 3 of them but the 75 plays the best.As with any type of horn, they all play a little different. Not worse, just different.Im sure you will be happy with yours.
@@todddemaria9600 How would you compare the Getzen to the Conn Connstellation (36B)?
I believe from what I remember, the Constellation seemed a bit tighter and had to back off the air some.Sound was more focused and not as wide.Problem with comparing is changing the mouthpiece to match the horn would change that.
@@todddemaria9600 I hate to bug you, can you recommend a mouthpiece? Kurt Thompson speaks very highly of the Bach3E.
@@johncifra531 As you probably have heard, mouthpieces are like selecting shoe sizes. What are you playing on now?
NICE !
Thank you! Cheers!
Are you flying your stock blades?
Jon crashed this heli a year ago but he was flying the stock blades. He hit a power line and totaled it.
Good, i like it Helicopter Film Air wolf
Super video. Very nice. Like airwolf
Thank you Leon!

Thank you John
Beautiful!
Thanks John!
Cool, what FBL do you use?
I am using the AR7200bx.The mechanics are a Trex 700e.I flew it 3d for 7 years before I decided to give it a life of ease in the MD500 lol
@@todddemaria9600 Nice, Im in the same boat on a trex500, but cant the ar7210bx to dial in on mine. Thanks. Putting mine in an airwolf, my first scale heli if I can get it to work
What isn't dialing in on the 7210?Its basically the same unit.I also use Ikon FBL on several other helis.I like them more than the 7200's.They are blue tooth so I can do set up or make adjustments with phone or laptop without having to access any wiring.
@@todddemaria9600 My trex was flying perfectly on a different FBL, then I switched to this one, the tail I cant get right, I lower the gain enough to keep it from wagging so bad, now it wont hold solid when punching the throttle.. Also the cyclic, isnt solid and it doesnt feel very responsive. trying to research what else to do other than the 3 dials?
Sounds like you should try a different fbl.Other than mechanical and fbl gain,I dont know what else you would need to change if it was flying good before.
Guten Tag wo kann man ihn kaufen so ein airwolf
The fuselage is Roban from Motion RC.The mechanics are Phoenix Tech from Motion RC. Phoenix Tech is almost like Align helicopters.
I’m starting back at 68
Totally amazing Todd. What’s the top speed
Maybe 120mph
Todd Do you fly or have you flown a helicopter ? Do you think you could knowing the dynamics of the Craft? Love this
I have not flown a helicopter.Been in many though and believe I could with proper training.I have flown many planes over the years with friends.
Nice!
Thank you Bill!
Great job of flying I see you have skills. Well done!
Thank you.I will pass that on to Neal.He was the pilot.I was just recording.
Where did you find your pilot at? Did you have to polish your front windscreen?
Hey Terrence!Got the pilot at warbirdpilot.com.They have civilian and military pilots.I believe this one was 1/8 scale. As far as the windshield,I didn't really polish it.Just used Maguire's detailer and a micro fiber cloth on the entire bird.
Right on. It looks really good. I have built the black, white and red version. I’m thinking about making some Trump emblems to give it a controversial livery. I too use Adam Martin’s pilots in mine, but yours look more size appropriate.
Thanks Terrence.+1 on the Trump livery!
So I have to ask. Did you modify your pilots arms and legs? Yours looks to fit properly in, but mine doesn’t seem to look right. Adam makes a special helicopter helmet with mic boom too.
@@terrencejackson4587 I don't recall any mods.
Very well balenced rotors i fly helis too they are very hard to fly nice job
Thank you very much David.Yes they are quite a challenge.
Need a red Ferrari driving around the tarmac. 👍
Now that is a great idea!
Are these available?
They are available at motion RC
Hello! I have the same heli exactly I almost lost it because the tail metal gears in the 45 degree part of the tail got completely worn out after 25 flight that they slipped. How do you protect your from wear?
Hi Boris. That is not my heli.It belongs to a friend.Im not sure what he uses if anything.I know on all my metal tail gears,I will occasionally brush some synthetic or lithium bearing grease onto the gears.I have a 3 year old MD500 with at least 200 flights and tail gears are not worn.Hope this helps.
I know it's pretty off topic but do anyone know of a good website to watch newly released tv shows online?
@Avery Raymond try flixzone. You can find it on google =)
@Ethan Arjun Definitely, have been watching on flixzone for since april myself =)
@Ethan Arjun Yup, have been watching on FlixZone for years myself =)
I really want one bad.
How different is on size and features compared to the 800 model?
The 800 is a super scale with cockpit and many more added details included. The 800 is much larger. This 600 was just the fuselage so I had to build it like I wanted it.
Nice flight Todd beautiful Airwolf
Thank you for the compliments!
Sick
Sweet
Thanks John!
What mechanics did you use?
William,I used the Phoenixtech 600.I was commissioned to build this for a friend and he had everything needed to build. He got out of the hobby and since I had possession he made me an offer I couldn't refuse.I would prefer to have used Align mechanics but am quite impressed with these.
@@todddemaria9600 do you think a stretched TREX 550 DFC will fit the fuselage ? I am bit worried since the DFC head is quite low. Is this the ref of your airwolf ?scaleflying.de/product_info.php?info=p1923_airwolf-extended.html ?
@@ilkesmets2899 Mine came from Motion Rc but Im sure its the same one.Stretched 550 will fit fine because of the 600 boom.As always the will be some customization mounting the mechanics.
GREAT job Todd! Man that was spot on man! Thanks for sharing! BIG thumbs up! Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy New Year!
Thanks Fred!Merry Christmas to you!Hope all is well.
You did paint the nose of your chopper to high in the bottom of the wind shields. Look's weird.
I didn't paint anything on the outside. Its probably the angle and the glare throwing the perspective off. This kit comes pre painted.
The preformed windshields have the white trim around them adding to the white color of the nose.
@@todddemaria9600 Ok
That is sweet Todd !
Thank you!
Very nice maiden flight of the Airwolf Todd! Looks pretty dialed in to me! Thumbs up! Best regards!
Thanks Fred!I was very pleased the way it turned out.
I agree. Did you set it up outside of the fuselage first or directly build it in before spooling it up for the first time?
@@Wolfhound_81 I set up the mechanics outside, then built the framework for mounting in the fuselage. It was a small challenge.
How did you set up your main landing gear, with the newer big tiller arm that came with the fuselage or the older long pushrods that go towards the front? I'm having issues trying to get these to work well. If you have any pictures of your setup I would appreciate it. What servo(s) did you use also. Thanks!!!
I used the single servo,3 rod set up.I tried the long arm and it kept overloading the servo.I can send some pics but We have to find another way other than RUclips. The servo I used is a BL2208 Torx from Helidirect. It has I think over 360ozs of torque.
Gah, I want a Roban so bad!!
