Sludge? use fully synthetic oils and change every 5-10k miles. Wet belts in ecoboost just don't buy it. Every car I had had timing chains. Never had issues starting from 1.2L Opel Corsa to 2.2L Lexus. Currently own a hybrid car and it will last years and years with regular maintenance.

It should be mentioned with the 2AZ-FE that there was a service bulletin put out to fix any and all 2AZ-FE's put in any car. The oil consumption was fixed by fitting larger head bolts. The only 2AZ-FE's that burn oil at all will be the ones produced before 2008 and not brought in for warranty service.

2AZ-FE is fine if you can find a vehicle that had replacement pistons and ring set, had mine done in 2015 and the car went 240k before the rot killed it. I believe the salvage yard pulled the engine and hopefully it’s still running somewhere today

I had a friend from my work who was a part-time driver for GM in Arizona. He told me some interesting stories about driving those Northstar equipped Cadillacs on the test tracks. One of those things was that they would drive one of them with no oil until it failed. Another was without coolant until it failed. But the most interesting thing for me was how long they would drive in shifts. For days and days and days !!!

@@logicVSpassion and doing the same to a 6.7 makes it a monster, whats your point? The 6.0 is inferior to the 6.7 in every concievable measure whether its stock or modified. The biggest difference is I dont HAVE to modify the hell out of the 6.7 to make it somewhat reliable. Even when a 6.0 is "bullet proofed" and blueprinted you cannot escape the inherent design flaws of the engine. It has a bad reputation for a reason and any engine you have to dump $5000-$10,000 into to make it moderately reliable is NOT a good engine.

Cut off the fuel supply and cut off the air supply. A carbon dioxide extinguisher will shut down the engine. Usually the problem is either a fault in the governor or a fuel leak.

Ugh.. Why was this in my feed? 0:42 - "A runaway diesel engine".. "occurs when your engine starts to take in external gasses from the air, causing it to accelerate beyond safe limits" Engine Explorer, what you've just said was one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this video is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. For anyone watching this video, a runaway is caused when the engine receives fuel from somewhere it shouldn't. Leaking oil from a blown turbo, or a misconfigured/failed fuel delivery system (old mechanical diesel fuel pumps) are the usual culprits. Yes, flammable gasses/dusts in the air in high enough concentrations can cause a runaway, but this is situational and very rare and you've got other much bigger problems at that point. Block the air intake with something if you have a runaway, and it will shut it down. Don't restart it until the culprit has been found and fixed obviously.

A Chevy 350 ci doesn’t last that long they typically wore out before 100k but they were started during a time where people typically kept a car for no more than 3 years 1950’s to 1980’s. Yes I know your grandfather had an old Chevy truck that had over 600k and all he did was change the oil and a few belt replacements but typically they didn’t last that long. Now the LS series is amazing with its performance and longevity. I’ve seen the early ones (non dod) go over 300k. Chevy learned real quick that was a bad idea and fixed it with active fuel management and dod!
