I saw Grace live for the first time, in Detroit at the Masonic Temple Theater (downstairs ballroom) about...hmm...20 years ago? It was a very intimate setting, definitely a club crowd - lots of younger folks - I was 40 then. A very dear friend of mine asked me to go...I was down because techno rules...😊. I didnt know what to expect. Ol' Grace was 4 hours late!!! No one left the joint, though. By the time she was on stage, it had to have been 2am or so. She was awesome!!!!! The floor was rocking the while time. Everyone danced and danced...she never sat down, her voice was powerful and didn't miss a beat. I'll never forget that performance and I definitely got my money's worth, and some. And to watch THIS, tells me that Grace is STILL underrated.
