if you want a similar sound i’d personally go with a dv spacer at that point. no need to slowly destroy your turbo for a kind of cool noise.
Silly question but is an air intake actually good for you car and has no negatives? I’m thinking of getting one for my Golf R 7.5 but not that clued up and you seem to know what you’re talking about.

@@Michael-wk1kjintakes arent bad for your motor really. They build boost a little quicker and add turbo noise a little. What @allfather1206 is referring to is the blow off valve. These cars come stock with a great diverter valve, and putting a blow off valve on them will slowly ruin your engine.

@@Michael-wk1kj yessir. A Diverter valve spacer gives you almost the same noise, with less risk of damage. But you would also loose a tiny bit of spool speed

@@SIRiAlerion Thank u for the advice MR.GTI, it was plugged with downpipe and resonator delete in the video .. now the car stage 3 apr .. 7 years and still in good health

This is wrong . A45 stock is keeping up to stage 2 r talk more of stage 2 a45 to stage 2 gti please don't fool yourself. Either gti is in stage 3 , bigger turbo and upgraded intercooler and a45 is stock . I'm stage 2 mk6 R owner , and I beat mk7 stage 2 everything, but scared to race them a45 , even stock

@@esoghumedominic13 i have gti 7cs which is same as 7R did u know 0-200km i won 7R easily with 0.5sec-1sec diff? that because gti has no more weight compared 7R and another point 7R and gti 7 cs is same engine and same turbo but 0-100 7R and a45 impossible to beat them gti slow because forward traction*

I actually really like my 2021 GTI in its stock form. Manual trans, plenty of turbo sound for me, and it rides like a family SUV while handling better than my old Corvette. Easily my favorite hatchback of all time.
The GTI is Really fun to drive, handling better than most of american cars, really great car.

@@Abdullah-ry2wq turbo flutter sounds cool, but isn’t good for your turbo. Reconnect the DV, the sound won’t be worth it when you’re picking turbo bits out of your engine.
@@brickson98m It really doesn't reduce the life of a turbo that much, my single turbo 335 is still going strong. Flutter is only very bad if its on acceleration.
