Things of interest - to me, mostly dirt biking.
Finger Lakes ORV SP Columbia
Late Spring just before Memorial Day riding at Finger Lakes ORV near Columbia Missouri, 2 days after it had rained, left a lot of puddles. Some were inches deep and others were the depth of the tallest 4 wheeler that could get down the trail. Many of the trails were overgrown with spring growth and lack of trail maintenance, inspite of this we had a great weekend. We camped in the campground in the State Park and so could ride from the camp straight out onto the trails.
Sorry the intercoms did not always cooperate so you can not enjoy all the chatter and banter back and forth between us, I promise we had a great ride, even though we came back filthy, covered in mud from head to toe.

A Brush with Death in Death Valley
Просмотров 8721 день назад
Riding at Bluff Creek there was a wooden cross at the top of the valley, which then earned the name Death Valley. We have ridden this valley many times successfully and some times unsuccessfully. This time the ride through Death Valley was spectacular. None of the riders in this clip were injured but a lot of adrenaline was pumping, during, after and late into the evening. Thanks for watching a...

We rode in circles and expanded our expertise by opening up a new hill climb or two. When I'm in the lead I don't seem to get as much interesting footage as when I follow, however I know that you will enjoy several of these clips. Enjoy Thanks for Riding Along

When one rider bursts out in song while we are riding... you know they are having a lovely day and enjoying the ride. This ride is just the two of us at Bluff Creek OHV, shaking off the winter blues and getting in some log crossing and hill climb practice. With this comes it's share of spills and thrills, no injuries and almost no bruises so all is good. Thanks for riding along!
A Ride in the Park - Bluff Creek OHV

The riding season is heating up, so we are enjoying the spring weather and getting in miles and miles of riding. Enjoy this ride with us, where most things went well, but we had a few tumbles and unintentional dismounts. Sadly as our riding skills continue to increase the 'entertainment value' seams to be diminishing as we have fewer spectacular crashes. We probably need to recruit a few more n...
Easter Bunnies Just Add Gas

The Yamaha WR450F was overheating riding in the pack, so in this video he is leading at a faster pace to try and keep cool. This warmed us up and provided some additional skill building at keeping up going faster. Three of the five riders have intercoms so that definitely help to keep us together by calling routing instructions and giving location call outs. Yup we had a great weekend. If you a...
Bunnies Keep Riding Easter Weekend

Easter Weekend - part 3 It was such lovely weather after the winter blues and spring rains, we just couldn't stop riding. So this is part 3 of 4 parts for the weekend. There was still a fair amount of moisture under the leaves and on the north slopes so we had a couple spin outs and had to take a couple of runs at some hills and one whisky throttle but all in all a very successful time was had ...

Three KTM's and 2 Yamaha's bound around at Bluff Creek OHV. It is hard to believe we rode 28 miles within the confines of the park. Yes we did ride some places more than once but each time it is a little different. Enjoy the Ride.

Enjoy these snippets from our Easter Weekend ride. These motorcycle bunnies went round and round and where they go, nobody knows.... We had a lot of ups and downs as well as in-betweens, with slow riding, fast riding, technical riding and a great time all around with fabulous riding companions. This is the first of 4 videos from the the weekend. Thanks for riding along and enjoy the lovely spri...
Terry's Wash - a great find

Trail riding taken to the next level. Terry's Wash is has it's challenges but is doable by all skill levels provided you have at least one or two more advanced riders to help the less skilled riders through/over/down the more technical obstacles. Earlier in the day we had met some riders who quite by chance found Terry's Wash and they recommended it to us. Thanks guys it was a great addition to...
Poison Spider Intro and Gate Keepers

Great Scenery, beautiful vistas and moderate challenges for dirt bikers, jeeps, atv's and side-by-sides. Just a short distance out of Moab this ride takes up up to the Portal Overlook that looks out over Moab. The trail has it's 'gate keepers' that can be a bit much for novice or beginner dirt bikers. However choose your riding partners carefully and a little teamwork will take you all a long w...

Another great ride at Bluff Creek OHV You would think it gets boring, but every ride is different, we ride with different people with differing skill sets and preferences. Some like to just ride trails, others like to ride the tracks and some like a little bit of everything and it's great to mix it up as this provides us with lots of varied riding. We also learn from each other and 'egg' each o...
One Hill - Fun All Day Long
Просмотров 5193 месяца назад
Opening up a new Hill Climb at Bluff Creek OHV, creates a new playground that we keep coming back to, all day long. We ride for a while, then go off and do something else, meet up with friends and come back and do it again. Turns out that the trees at the top of the hill climb are magnetic and attract motorcycles like 'bees to a flower'. What a great day we had. Enjoy
Feb 24 - Bluff Creek is Calling

It's February 2024 and temps are such that we can go dirt biking in Iowa. So we are out Shaking off The Winter Blues. It's a great feeling to have the season starting again, yes we know it will get cold again before spring, but hey, we will take any and every day we can to get some hill climbing, gully practice along with other basic skill building in before the season starts. Enjoy the ride, w...

So many bunnies but no easter-eggs!
Using a GoPro Hero 10, and Davinci Resolve 18, with music from RUclips’s free music library.
This is beautifully shot! What camera and editing software are you using?
Looks like a great outing with John
Things were happening pretty fast, I did however mentally note to anchor the front brake to keep the front wheel from turning as I couldn't go any further to the right as the bank was right there. A parachute would have been useful but probably not too effective. I did enjoy the backwards summersault 😂
Yeesh! Glad both noggins didn't take a harder hit! Looked like you made a great call to lock it down and prevent a spinning wheel from catching any arms or fingers. Always a tough call to make in the moment about whether to try to run backwards and fall to the bottom or to fall first and risk the bike following after. I guess it's official, time to buy a parachute!
It's those Cat Like Reflexes that had me doing a backwards summersault to get away from the bike....
Next year same time everyone will get double the air!
Getting the new year started off right... with a crash!
Nicely done. Try loading the bikes power a bit as you go into the dip before the steep part of the climb. Gain speed early as possible so you can coast up the hill and not rely on traction but rather momentum. Use it, do t use it 😂 thanks for the vid!
True that, timing on power delivery is everything.
Many spots in that wash where Shelley is invincible, can touch on both sides!
Paddles don't come supplied with a KTM, possible optional extra ?
It still remains a 'touchy subject' 😆
Teamwork makes the dream work!
You betchya
Where is Bluff Creek? TX or OK?

Such a cool trail. Is this Bluff Creek OHV in Iowa?
Yes this is Bluff Creek OHV in Iowa
Neat! I can learn and tweak a detail or two watching this. Still can't believe what the bikes can handle all on their own!
Yeah, I'll have to try it sometime ;-)
This was awesome! Love the in-ride editorial. So Cool!
With us all having intercoms and having that connected to the GoPro you get the real time chatter that goes on between the riders. Thanks for Watching, I enjoyed the ride and editing the video !
The music is killing it 😖😅🏴
Thanks man, some videos need music, others stand alone, it's a fine line....
go pros do such a bad job of capturing the steepness of hills and cliffs. Ive ridden the pit several times and in real life it look much more gnarly than it does in the vids. I know the area she went up and its not a walk in the park. Hope I can link up with you guys for a ride sometime soon!
Yes GoPro flattens out a lot of the terrain, yes that area is nice and steep. She appreciates your acknowledgment of the challenging terrain. Thankyou.
A great adventure, would love some more practice on similar terrain!
Haha, love the narrative, well edited!
Love this trail!
The whole area is fabulous and it is so difficult to represent it well in a short video. I'm really glad we can enjoy it !
"Ride in the lowest points"... good advice, I remember learning that advice by accident on a borrowed Ninja 250!
Haha, the rain plus three stooges plus silly music is great!
The "Three Stooges"... They will love that !
When I ride under the rock at 24:20 I bump my helmet against it hard enough to be seen on video!
I really appreciate the effort put into setting up the gopro, configuring audio to capture intercom, swapping batteries, and ultimately editing all the footage. The result of all that work is fantastic and I greatly enjoy going back to relive the experience.
An I get to relive the experience all the time in editing it... thank you for the affirmation!
Moving out to UT from Maine. Leaving here on Dec11. Maybe we can meet up at some point. I'm landing in St George area but what's a few hours to ride with some good dudes?
Sadly I'm not based in Utah, wish I was 😢 this was a weekend ride we did over fall break. All the best with your move...
Try going up and down on "slag piles" where everything is loose.
You bet slag piles add their own unique challenges for traction management.
@@braapfield7987 God tires and plenty of horse power gets you up the sloops.
That nail gun sound affect gets old fast, otherwise enjoyed the video. Makes me want to head back to Moab with my dirt bike.
Thank you for the comment, is there a different sound you would prefer? Or would it be better to not mark the scene changes with any sound at all. Let me know what you think.
For what it's worth the soundeffect hasn't bothered me but I can understand both sides. Perhaps shortening the effect and lowering it's volume may still provide an audible break between clips while also being less intrusive?
Lots of lovely riding. Not a fan of the sketchy topple downhill onto a log, glad the spacing wasn't slightly different! I've joked about having remote control on the bike... maybe a springloaded ejection seat to add bike/rider separation would be good addition to that idea!
KTM space program! Well shoved!
John stepped up the entertainment level in this video! Contrasts well against the previous video where his skillful tractoring up a hill was labeled by fellow riders as "boring"!
It's reassuring to see how well the first climb ended despite how out of control it appeared! I was sure the rider would be in a pile on the other side!
Look very fun. This is the area that will be closed?
From what I've seen the closures will be west of Moab. Fins and Things is north east, but I don't know that for sure.
@@braapfield7987 oh okay, thanks you 👍🏻
Sadly we have not seen him since hunting season started... But he will be back!
The whole track was currently laid out is now 5.6 miles. A few connecting pieces are still needed but yes it is a great addition. Earlier this week I rode a complete lap without stopping and it took me 25 minutes.
Haha, Dani's commentary was unexpectedly humorous!
She has a knack for being humorous !!
Lots of ups and downs!
Must have looked at the tree!
We can always depend on Carson to go above and BEYOND!
Following the orange-stick-road looks like a great time!
I don't think I've seen that tire section in the field before. Seems like there's a ton of dirt filling it in though. I've got some techniques to suggest which can be practiced there while it's still super mellow. Hope Frank has radiator guards now!
It is a great addition and is a first installation, improvements and modifications will be made over time.
Dang dudes, watching this set off my bluff creek ptsd. I got stuck out there once during a heavy rain and it was awful trying to get back to the truck. The clay there gets so slick and just piles up on the bikes. Aaah. I especially feel bad for the bro on the 450. Can’t imagine the skill it took to get that monster home. Remember when at bluff, if a storm be coming, you best be runnin’ hahaha
You are so right, we were out at Bluff yesterday and the radar showed rain coming and it took all my negotiating skills to get riders to go out again before the rain arrived. But they did and we made it back to the truck before the first drops fell, and then the storm parted and Bluff hardly got anything, but we did rode through rain on the way home. 😆
Loved good job 👏 👍
where was this at?
Bluff Creek OHV Park near Oskaloosa IA
@@braapfield7987 interesting, ive never seen that little obstacle course there. Where is that located? (The tires and log obstacles and such)
@@HighSpeedTV It is inside what I call the Beginner Track and is a new installation that they put in earlier this summer. Take the main road from the shed and go west, you pass the open field on the right with Gravity Cavity Track to the north, the road curves to the right and then to then slightly to the left and there is an opening between the trees on the left which takes you onto the Beginner Track. Once through the opening you will see the obstacle/training course. It would be easier if I could insert a picture, but I don't find a way to do that here... ;-(
The upbeat ditties and sound effects really 'nail' the clips together! Wish we were riding like this every weekend!
We gotta figure out how to ride together every weekend !!
Good to see Shelley's concern for the fallen Yamaha bike *stacking logs in the background to get over the obstacle 😂 lots of great single track, looks like tons of fun 🙃
Round and round and up the hill is rounding up to a total success! I remember when that hill was fresh, was quite scary! Very bravely done!
Few words, but they're golden! Had Dani laughing for the rest of the video! My side hurts!
I'm running out of complements, the improvement continues but my vocab has a limit! Looking well balanced, well planned, and well managed!
Agreed, we have a limited number of accolades to adequately acknowledge all the obvious improvement.
Famous last words, "this isn't where I wanted to go"! That dip now has some "whisky history"... Having caused a thud now it's full of "thud mud"... The "flip dip" The "holler waller" The Jack Daniels whisky "Jack attack" I bet you've already come up with a better name!
