@GoldJack10 borderlands 2 is the best one. Pre-sequel and the 1st one are pretty good but not as good as bl2. 2nd one is very well written, very smooth & has an addictive loot grind. The dlcs are also some of the best dlcs ever made. Nothing bad to say about BL2 except that the gameplay in BL3 is better. But in BL3 the mission design is worse, and the previously amazing writing falls off so hard. In BL2 there are tons of lines that still make me giggle. BL2 hits the perfect balance between satire and serious storytelling. In BL3, they miss the mark on the writing, cringe humour, and too much cringe humour. Loads of characters are really cringey. Some are actively annoying. I would happily replay borderlands 4 times before I have to grace my ears with BL3’s voice lines. But then other times I prefer that smooth gameplay, and better gun designs & sounds in BL3. Guns are VERY satisfying in BL3. Borderlands 1 is chill, serviceable game, amazing for its time… but it can feel a bit barebones. And in my opinion the only vault hunter worth playing in BL1 is Lillith. That’s my personal bias tho. Funnily enough I think Roland is the worst one. He’s both not that fun & he isn’t great balance wise either… If u playing through the whole series, my vault hunters to NOT PICK are: -Roland in BL1 -Gaige in BL2 (my main but she’s the worst character in the series, can be fun at low levels tho) Wilhelm in the pre-sequel (the other characters are both better & more fun) All of them are good in BL3 These are just the ones I’d advise against. Roland & wilhelm serviceable I think but they just ain’t as good as the others in their games Gaige in BL2 just sucks at high level, the ONLY way to play her is to give her a 1000% accuracy penalty, which means she ALWAYS misses & you have to sit for hours trying to stack it up. And her action skill is good very early on but becomes completely useless later on. F tier character. Can run a shock build, but unless you shoot shields, you’re doing about a quarter of the damage than you’d do on any other character. So you either can’t shoot, or u do a quarter of the damage most of the time. It’s a lose lose situation. Paired up with the worst action skill, being a bot that gets insta 1/2 tapped late game… and she is the weakest character in the series by far. Pretty much any other character except gaige in BL2 can be made to be overpowered in comparison. Maya is probably the 2nd worst, but she’s good in multiplayer, and she’s still capable of ridiculous stuff. (I just regret picking gaige man, 20 days of playtime on a useless character 😂💀) Aight rant over

@@michaelcasey4248 Maya is still pretty good, I don’t think anyone apart from gaige can be considered actively bad to play. Salv is overpowered asf, but the rest are all about the same. Krieg & zero are capable of some crazy stuff. Maya is strong and cloud ☠️ is insane, along with some survivability, CC and good slag. Axton does great damage, guns feel amazing on him, probably has the best survivability in the game. Without glitches at least - though I think salv might be able to be even more survivable, but I’m not sure. Not really played Salv tbh. Axtons turrets ain’t great for damage in OP levels, but they slag enemies and take a lot of enemy aggro off him, so he can actually be really aggressive, doing high damage while hardly ever getting downed. Oh and grit exists… grit is insane, with a class mod he can have up to 40% chance not to get downed at all times? That’s crazy. Can sometimes activate multiple times in a row. Though it’s a given u use the bubble shields at high level to keep his turrets alive. Putting a longbow turret onto walls can also allow the turrets to barely get damaged. If you place them in good locations, you don’t have to worry about them getting destroyed so much. Often when fighting bandits, and most animal enemies, there is basically nothing they can do to take out the turrets. With the bubble shields u can also cheese quite a few boss encounters, they provide shield gate & they regenerate, so u can stand in them for momentary invincibility if u need it. His guns can deal high damage, he has some of the best ☠️ skills, fast movement speed. He gets a the 2nd best weapon handling skill (ads, movement while aiming, reload, weapon swap speed) in the game, along with permanently super fast reloads very early on. Which krieg can technically do, but it’s dependent on a stacking mechanic. With axton you can shoot constantly, very quickly swapping weapons for elemental damage when needed. It’s a lot more powerful than u think it is. Can more or less constantly deal the correct damage type, without switching weapons affecting damage. More or less instant weapon swaps. Most other characters can’t do that at all in the way Axton can, some have to rely exclusively on BAR rank for those stats. Also just makes gameplay constantly feel snappy and smooth on him. It might even be the best weapon handling skill in the game, considering it’s always active, and though krieg is technically able to do it better, on krieg it’s not constant. Salv might also be able, but like I said… not played salv much. Aggro relief in itself is extremely powerful CC. Having 2 turrets up basically gives 2 mini deceptions that actively aggro enemies, when u think about it. Along with their extra benefits. And as summons, compared to ☠️trap the turrets are SO MUCH better. Because they are actually consistent, always perform as expected and always provide guaranteed benefits. You have full control over its location, you can recall it, etc… ☠️traps AI is horrible, sometimes when summoned it will just stand still. Other times it will use damaging attacks on you and heal enemies. It only heals ur shield reliably at the times u least need it. It’s extremely buggy, and even when optimised for, its spin attack is good, but it generally does no damage, even outside of OP levels. And not having control over it sometimes means it will be on the opposite side of the map, attacking enemies that it probably can’t even take out on its own. And also not having control over ☠️trap’s location, means it’s likely always going to be badly positioned by its AI. It will be out in the open, targeted by multiple enemies & then instantly destroyed. Like I said, being able to choose where the turrets go, means they often can’t be damaged at all… but can still be used to pull aggro. Even if the turrets are at threat u can usually take care of the enemies before they get destroyed. Especially since they slag enemies. Even if their damage heavily falls off, the slag makes them useful regardless, they functionally always amp your own damage. So Axton’s consistent option by contrast, the difference is night and day in comparison to gaige. Idk axton has many strengths and is often made out to be a lot worse than he is. Most people just find the soldier archetype boring, and write him off without knowing what he’s actually capable of. As far as damage capabilities I’m not sure how he exactly measures up, but it’s good damage nonetheless. You don’t really need to overgear much if at all. Can take care of raid bosses at OP 10, without much trouble. Which is good enough. On gaige u basically always need to overgear. Even with good gear raid bosses can feel nearly impossible, anarchy makes her so inconsistent, even with homing shots. It’s also worth talking about Axton’s explosive damage 🤯 U can use certain (common) torgue weapons, put on a very easy to obtain class mod (grenadier) and instantly do insane damage, along with having access to skills that give you up to 20+ grenades that are heavily damaged amped. Which in itself is kinda insane. Equip the magic grenades that regen, and you can do some crazy stuff. But even outside of that Axton is just generally good, dependable and very consistent. The reason I don’t think Roland is good is the insanely long cooldown, and his skill tree has a bit of an identity crisis between a tank, a healer, and dps, yet Roland does none of them very well. Jack of all trades, but not even that. Jack of no trades, master of none. Axton on the other hand, a mixture of tank, utility and dps, does it all extremely well, with loads of synergy between all of it. Anyways, point is just that most ppl think Axton is much worse than he is.
