Grizzly Bears are being deported to Washington
Просмотров 1516 месяцев назад
The federal government's plan to introduce grizzly bears into Washington's North Cascades has sparked a heated debate. The proposed plan aims to introduce five to ten grizzly bears per year into the North Cascade region, with the goal of fast-tracking the population growth of this apex predator. D-Jackson, Rep. John Winter on legislative subcommittee looking into the Cody Roberts matter: “There will probably will be some legislation. I don’t think we need to go full bore to accommodate these out-of-state people who don’t have much common sense.” He added that it isn’t certain whether other options will be considered, such as banning the use of snowmobiles or other vehicles to pursue predators. What an ignorant, stupid old man

    not sure how wolves that were hunted into extinction should be controled..tge chain has been broke for awhile...they actully feed the deer etc hay to keep them from starving each other out? isnt that the job of the wolf.. they get compensated for lost cattle..so do they shoot bald or golden eagled when they take down one of their cattle? wolves need fed protection period.

    If State law does not apply then shouldn't this be covered under HR5566 and/ HR 2293 ? 5566 outlaws the distribution of animal torture videos. 2293 is a more straightforward law pertaining to animal torture. I can't speak for anyone else but I'm writing to the congressman who represents Wyoming and also reported this to the US Fish and Wildlife Service #800#344#9453

    I lived in Wyoming for about 40 years, and this mentality is not uncommon. Before I moved from there, I recall seeing 2 open trailers, both probably about 16-18 ft long and side planks about 4 ft tall, full of coyote and wolf carcasses driving through town, right before Christmas. It made me nauseous. Most of these creatures were probably killed by trapping them by the foot, where they lay trapped for days and days, suffering.

    Donald Trump signed a billed before he left office in 2020....The bill, called the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act, makes intentional acts of cruelty to animals federal crimes carrying penalties of up to seven years in prison. Cody Roberts should be charged with this federal felony!

    • @RadSab
      @RadSab 6 месяцев назад

      @@RadSab There should never be a zone where it is ok to torture an animal. I grew up in a household where my family hunted to put meat in the freezer ...there is an ethical way to dispatch an animal whether it is hunting or the unfortunate circumstance that a predator attacks livestock. I hate that people associate hunting culture with what Cody Roberts did...the men in my family would have kicked this guys ass if they saw what he did.

    According to the NPS the last known Grizz in Washington was in 1996. This is a while after the bears were protected. Recovery zones were established in the early 90's. 2022 population maps from US Fish and Wildlife show all but two recovery zones with Girzzleys occupying the space: www.fws.gov/sites/default/files/documents/20230720_occupiedrange%26RZs_website.jpg The North Cascade recovery zone includes a lot of towns that were much larger than they were in the 90's when the zones were created. It is a zone that is much larger than the North Cascade National Park where I think they plan to set bears free. If the plan is to introduce 5-10 a year I see human and bear conflicts becoming a real safety concern within 10 years.

      "Between 2020 and 2024, Roberts’ trucking company worked for the Game and Fish Department at least 12 times, according to the state’s financial transparency platform, WyOpen.gov. In that time, Roberts also worked for the Wyoming Department of Transportation. But he was cited by Game and Fish wardens, not highway patrollers, which is why wildlife advocates are more heavily scrutinizing those contracts. In total, Roberts made $43,050 from the state agency. His work included remodeling, landscaping, habitat improvements, engineering, maintaining roads and sidewalks, and supplying rock, sand, gravel and wood. Roberts did not respond to a request for comment emailed to his business, C Roberts Trucking LLC." Just want to keep the facts straight. It does call into question his fine. I'd take a look at the Podcast I just did with Jess Johnson where she lays out the history of the issue.

    This whole story including the state of Wyoming and its animal laws, the people in the bar and the torturer himself is filled with unbelievable cruelty and horror. An animal is a sentient being and deserves to be respected and allowed to live its life unmolested. Are these Wyoming sadists not aware of the well known implications of animal torturers and the society in which they live. A society which is ethical and kind to the other species will live and prosper. One that does not will not thrive and prosper.
