Sims are important to all of us and everyone I seriously mean everybody should try it. Ive yet to meet someone who didnt enjoy it. Some dont give it enough time but its pretty easy to get better at it. Or maybe sime of us are more natural with it idk haha.

Looks like the top drivers in f1 right now will be hard gamers.

I'm sure the f1 drivers who do sim racing were better prepared for the new regs than those that don't. Look down the 2022 grid, each time the sim racer outpaced their teammate. I think it may have something to do with all the setup work you have to do in sim racing. Previous generations of drivers used to drive all sorts of cars during their time off the f1 track. That's not really possible now, imagine getting seriously injured in a gt3 event and not being able to race in f1 while you recover. Teams just aren't willing to take that risk. Sim racing has given these drivers a similar breadth of knowledge with all the other cars you can try.

It's so funny watching his Mclaren promos and then promos away from Mclaren. With their Logitech affiliation, he was always stuck driving a crappy G920 or G29 when we all know he would never race with that entry level gear lol. Look how crazy his personal setup is.

Bro got a near 50K simulator, more than our usual car prices. BUT... as he said, the importance is not the setup by itself, is the setup that matches your goals and performances. Giving a beginner a 50K simulator is like giving a monkey a car haha But for real, he's right, I've recently move toward my dream simulation rig, I've got myself a G29 with 3 Pedals and shifter, a Fanatec Handbrake, a Logitech X56 HOTAS for flight simulations like DCS and MSF20, got myself a GT Omega ART Cockpit with mount for racing and flight sim ON THE SAME rig (which save lots of hassle), tried to install 2 car seats from old parent cars but none fits the cockpit so I ordered one 2 days ago and as a cherry on top, got a Quest 2 for full immersion in all my sims, compatible with 99% of them (Assetto Corsa, iRacing, DCS, MSF20...). The comfort and feeling it give you to have a dedicated simulator rig is light years of clipping a wheel on a desk and with single monitor. I've promised myself to only upgrade from Logitech to Fanatec the day my iRacing rank goes up (I started a week ago). But man, that feels good to get a glimpse of what its like to be on a race, just having the immersion and POV in VR with a force feedback wheel and a dedicated rig with car seat... I'm getting closer and closer to my dream and I wish you all guys the same !

I believe that the simulator has closed the gap between young and veteran drivers.

I just built my dream simulator for iRacing too. One thing i'd love is a pedal tray & seat with automatic adjustability, yet still 100% rock solid. Very cool :)
