Make an article about the factors endangering the Suriname Amazon Rainforest. I’m talking about deforestation done by big multinationals. I’ve got footage of hundreds of mines that are placed in the middle of the jungle. With big multinationals destroying the environment nothing will be left in 10/20 years so we need to stop that Asap!!

Eco tourism is nothing more than a fancy word use to open up the gates again to colonisation. They should leave the natural resources along. Wealth through exploitation of the land and the people is not just it will always be damaging for the land. I think if Europe is so concern about the wellbeing of surinam then they should organise around reparation. And get rid of the corrupt colonial government ties. Nature has preserved it self not to be discovered!! and exploited.

Only with tourism you can get certain places protected by UNESCO etc. Right now a lot of oil/gold companies are destroying the Amazon rain forest and nobody is even seeing what is happening. The indigenous communities are suffering from this the most.

Nice footage, thank you very much, but I will never quite understand why our beloved country has to be promoted by European faces. Is it because our interior is only accessible by people looking like them? Ahum, I don’t think so!! Put some color in the video! Put my people in the video. Especially if you made this video and if you are from Suriname. Answer to the question that keeps popping up: we don’t want and we don’t need mass tourism and all that goes with it. Given another 20 years, we will be able to explore our country ourselves. Every person of Surinamese descent has the right and will be able to go across the country in due time to indeed see their pristine legacy.

Of the government who lets big oil and gold companies like Iamgold, Roosevelt goldmines and Shell leaving nothing but big craters filled with chemicals. Not much details on any smaller plants. However in the areas where they are living they seem to prefer big trees with large plank-roots. Also we have seen that they prefer living around the Acariquara (locally named: pari udu), especially fallen ones, probably since they have many little water pockets to lay their eggs.
