Nice setup! If you have the instrument cluster you can get it working with assetto corsa using an Arduino Uno and canbus shield.

@@Jaybrn stock m5 was almost as loud as the m2 with resonator delete, now it’s it’s pretty loud. I guess because of the v8, it’s naturally loud. But for both these cars the video doesn’t do justice

@@Proddd.junior it’s perfect amount because the valves closed it sounds stock and valves open only loud when you get on it in sport plus mode

Great video! I really appreciated you walking through the issues you’ve come across and how you’ve created solutions to them. Would you say this car is a good buy for the next 3 years, or to get something slightly more exciting? Even if it’s an M3/M4? I am just mindful of what you said about combustion engines, and them being a thing of the past soon. Scary times ahead for petrol heads! :( I just wanna enjoy it whilst I can. Thanks again 👍

Saw a bit of white smoke on the startup my 22’ gli has that smoke on startup. Was there any issues with that or anything?
Not really. That’s just becuase it cold outside

@@NithinChemmanoor only on startup after letting the car cool off for hours (just thought I saw blue tint in the smoke once) but never again have I seen that
so wish mine was MQB from the factory lmao
Mods like this are the reason the s58 gets a bad rep for a crappy sound. An i-6 with two turbos and exhaust split into two banks make the s58 sound horrible from the start. Reason why the single midpipe (valvetronic, IRL, etc) clean up the sound and make it sound great. That's why BMW muffled the G87 to get rid of the rasp and fart sound, which is why it's so quiet but sounds OK at WOT. Would highly recommend the single midpipe. The equal length midpipes (non-single) still have that weird raspy/tinny sound, which is why the single sounds the best. Also, a downpipe is going to make it sound even worse.
I’ve heard midpipes and in person it sounds identical, if anything the duals sounded louder
