Ok . Swietny blusmen .
So damn incredible
I’m a white Gen X’r who loved old Sam Hopkins. I’ve been listening to him for about 15 years. He’s a part of the root of all the other music I love. How could you not love this stuff? I like other Delta blues too, but lightnin is the one that really touches me. He’s one of my favorite vocalists, but his playing is what really sucked me in.
.
I WISH THE SOUNDTRACK WAS remastered LIKE A BOSS
Perez Jessica Thompson Steven Gonzalez Shirley
You can tell it was 1968 because I heard that car drive past. Lol!! Technology was so disrespectful back then.🤣🤣🤣
legend in his own time...i just like playin' the blues, makes me feel good...😊
A wolf in wolf’s clothing… pure magnificence.
This is just the greatest Chicago blues band, Sonny Boy Williamson will be proud, because they got so funky in “Help Me”. Thanks ❤
Me.
Proper blues man. Legend. That harp too btw wow
He is THE MAN, etched in my soul forever. I am 66 and first heard his music after he had passed. Haven’t been the same since. Still have an existential crush on this man.
"""2024 Who's still listening? Like a legend that still stands the test of time"
Wow I saw Buddy live in 74 at the Lighthouse in Hermosa beach.. Otis Spann was there I do not remember a harp player. Myself and date were the only vanities in there. I saw Jimi Wetherspoon there 5 times same color divide. That place attracted greats since it opened. Thanks for posting.
Real black Blues from the howlin wolf
THANK YOU SO MUCH - THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!
18:00 Buddy talking shit about NY being so cold it’s fucking up his amp is priceless.
The audio in this video is actually is actually pretty bad. One can hear the music & singing well enough; but, Son House's speaking voice is so low with audio quality so poor that it's next to impossible to understand fully what he is saying.
These old blues performers were notorious for talking and talking on stage while going away from the mic. They were from the time before they had mics and amplification. Dick Waterman, a manager of all these old bluesmen during the folk revival, would repeatedly have to tell Skip James, Bukka White and all those old guys to ''stay closer to the mic'' while they were performing lol
this is something beyond great. from louisiana and on boats i the pnw.... what a joy to find this. thank you universe. cheers to all!
❤❤❤
eargasm
Does anyone know the source of this recording. It's obviously not Chess
This is after the early record a day stuff, 60s and after the hippie stuff, after a long life and we all saw Les's film on lightnin'. Just a regular supermojo hero at home getting down on the whole town a little high, dark in the blues. Im happy to hear this, didnt know it existed. Just got a fresh crop of blues from the record store - got some old fat possum compilations about chicago and everyone with blind in their name
40:44 ❤❤❤
Two of my favorites
Sou brasileiro , Pantanal MS, Hopkins , agradecemos sua existência na terra !
Brilliant. Thank you.
A true original. Big man, big voice, big heart.
I love this guys voice. So unique. Also a great musician, guitar or harp, surrounded by other great musicians. Had never heard of him but watched Cadillac Records yesterday, and he has been playing in my house the last 24 hours, especially Smokestack Lightnin 🐺
🥰
yes
I am 77 years old but 25 in my heart. I remember some of these songs when I danced with my husband. He would be 100 years old this year. I miss him but I have wonderful memories.
❤❤
damn, I'm in love again...😊
thats a big age gap
I LOVE YOUR MUSIC ❤❤ 👍
Saw this band here in Portland Oregon in 83 or 84 at a place called Key Largo. Buddy Guy walked the club with his long lead and stopped right in front of me and wailed that guitar and Junior called out “ who said that” and that’s “n…ergish music “. After I shouted out Snatch it back as a request. He did actually launch into Papas got a brand new bag though! Scared me😅
2hat is the name ofvyhe actorf who played Howling wolf

Oh, an average concert of Buddy Guy & Jr Wells, at this time. Just stratospheric.
36:50 he couldn’t talk
Wolf did know to manage a band. A special hello for Hubert Sumlin Saw him once with Buddy Guy, and here I could hear how special, unique he was, when Buddy gave the best of himself, and you know what I talking about. Oh, Fred Below on drums, and a fantastic bass player. Was it a dream?
God bless you amigo, you dig it deep 🌻
❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Does anyone know anything about the "Jam" at the end? It most certainly is a version of Bobby Bland's "Turn on Your Love Light". It doesn't sound like its from the same tape. I suppose its a possibility that his backing band played it at some point during the six sets at Tramps, but would love to know if anyone has any more information.
I am Mexican.First time o hear the blues I was 13 years old in Mexico City and I fall in love for this beautiful music since then. And I have the privilege to see all this guys in concert 2 years on the road in the Auditorium National of Mexico City.Muddy waters, John lee hoker , B B king , Coco Taylor , Sonny Terry and Browny Mc guee , Sony Boy Williamson , and many more. That was in 1979 and 1981.Thank God for let me be witness of this event in my life.

They didn't get swept under the rug, the exposure wasn't nearly the same back in the day. Regardless, its Amazing, but drop the virtue signaling. Trust me, lightning would tell you to fudge off with that, that's a guarantee. One love.
What a chillin piece of music!
Motherfucking Wolf Baby
Had not been listening lighting for about ten years ago his music draw me in he could slow the blues and down and speed them up
