    I just installed this on my general. Also switched from the mbrp. I notice how close the hmf cans are to touching in the middle on the exhaust tip side. Have you had any problem with it touching from. Vibration? That's my only concern once I hit the roughv trails for hours at a time with all the heat expansion etc.

    With the 30% portals and 35 inch tires on your XP what’s roughly your top speed now? Sometimes we have to ride the main road to get to the trailhead. I’m guessing with the 30% portals and the low range on the XP it’s probably like a mountain goat for rock crawling. I’m torn on which Portals to choose from the 15% or 30% for my new 35s. Thanks for any input.

    I'm looking at doing a gear reduction or portals and 35's on my 22 General XP 4. I ride the highway as it is street legal as well. How fast can you go with the 35's, 30% portals, duraclutch, and tune?

    • @westtexastarantulaoutdoors3751
      @westtexastarantulaoutdoors3751 Год назад

      Good afternoon, I sent with a 30%reducing on the portals. The XP already comes with a 12.3% reduction. I love the lower gearing that low and reverse have but high is on the low side. When I'm showing 60mph my actual speed is 45mph. I bought the gears to raise my high gear only 12%. If you were to install the 15%portals, I think you'd be just right on factory gearing in all the gears. It's hard to say what my to speed is, because I haven't tried to run it flat out since I installed the portals. I plan to install the high gear increase and the heavy duty reverse chain in fur very near future. I will post a video of the install and then another on the first thoughts

    • @BaznastyDave
      @BaznastyDave Год назад

      @@westtexastarantulaoutdoors3751 SATV makes a 13% gear reduction that I think would be about right if I don't do extreme rock crawling. I'm afraid the portals may make mine too wide. I think you said yours is 75" wide now. Hunter works is saying I need a lot more than the 13% though. I have stock gearing now with 32's. I put my friends 35's on the back and tested it on the road in low and high and it wasn't too high geared at all with the stock gearing but on some slow rocks would be different. I'm trying to decide on what would be best for low speed belt grip for the trail and still be able to highway drive it. I know there isn't a clutch system/combo that would do great with both. I'm going to have to settle for something that isn't great at either but ok for both slow trails and highway. I'm leaning towards 13% gear reduction, 35's, and a Duraclutch. Your thoughts?

    • @westtexastarantulaoutdoors3751
      @westtexastarantulaoutdoors3751 Год назад

      If you're concerned about width then portals might not be your best option. However, with the extra width you get way more stability as well as the portals take the beating. What I mean by that is the gear reduction at the portals takes all the abuse and heavy wear away from your drive line. If you do a transmission gear reduction, then keep in mind that your drive shaft aarms axles will bear the stress of the 35 inch tires. Yes the machine is wider, but has become a total beast. Good luck on your decision on which way to go

    Do you have issues with the shock therapy DRS rubbing the shock body(s). I installed the kit on my Canam and also take care of cleaning and clocking the springs and it just keeps rubbing through shock bodies. It’s getting out of hand. I’m getting ready to purchase a general 4 seater and I figured I would stay away from ST on it. Even though the ride quality with there springs is night and day. To keep buying shocks due to rubbing is getting out of hand.

I noticed the interior clutch pack started to have unusual wear and some cracks in places. I sent pictures in to Duraclutch and received a run it verdict from their rep. (2020). The noise sounds like it has a bearing going out now, wired clunking and I am up to 1500 miles and it is 2022. 700 $ for the rebuild and another 50 for the secondary build plus a new belt for 140. Not sure it’s worth it. Anyone else having issues. Sure like the clutch, but the over a dollar a mile figure is what hurts. Thanks Curtis.

My question is how do you get the front ones to stay on?? you have no way of putting your hand in behind to push the plugs in connecting them snug against the machine. ..... or did you just not worry about that and just screw the fenders into the side of the machine? I hope that makes sense.
