Gavin changes the oil and rotates the tires for the first time!
Did u check spark? If you're spraying Starting fluid, and there's spark, something has to happen, even if it's bad.... If it's been sitting, have u looked in the airbox for mice nest's yet? ( the ether and spark may help find those too!)
@@rodrice1495 I actually didn’t, and didn’t think about it until a day or so later. I had it running when I got it last month, and didn’t think that could be an issue. I don’t think battery was the strongest either, which could have been a factor. Thanks for watching!!
The snapback in the throttle comes from the carb. It could be that the cable is routed improperly, it's too long, or that the carb is gunked up and sticking open.
I’ll check that out. I’m not so sure the cable wasn’t routed properly when I removed it, but the length of the one I installed doesn’t allow much extra room, and it’s for an 86 700. Next step is to address the carbs, but with the throttle cable disconnected, it does snap back pretty well. Thank you for watching and the advice!
@@JustGoofinRound If it's snapping back with the cable disconnected, make sure it's not binding in the handle switch and that the cable is lubricated.
@mrrabbit7056 I was just doing some reading, and I read that it needed lubricating. I’m wondering if my issue is mostly in the grip/housing though. It feels to me like it’s coming from in there.
Your son is cute
Thank you!
Will definitely be keeping up with this build. I have the same bike that i havent started with yet. It and a '04 XVS650 was given to me by an older lady after her husband passed. Neither had been running for well over 10 years. She also had an '83 Honda CB750 that was converted to a trike with a VW engine that we bought from her.
That’s awesome! I’m starting to get parts trickling in so hopefully I can start to make progress on it soon. Sounds like some great project to work on! Thank you for watching!
I love your videos I subscribed
@@MineSackk thank you!
I subbed too
Thank you very much!!
I'm currently bobbing my 750 -93 with good taste (hopefully) this winter. Love the project, love the bike, will follow your journey. Good luck!

Romanian guy here. I have a Virago 535. Love it. Good luck on your project.
Thank you! I have found they are very comfortable!
This is so awesome. I'm right there with you watching Craig and thinking "I can do this" and then having no clue what I'm doing. But it's awesome your boys are so into. That makes me smile too.
Thank you! Yeah, Craig may be getting me into some trouble lol. The boys are what makes it 10x more fun though. Unfortunately they don’t understand the concept of money yet haha! Thank you for watching!
The Kawasaki Versys is a neat bike. I bet that’s a joy to ride over the goldwing. Don’t let tech issues discourage you. Once you get it sorted, you’re set. Clear improvements already man.
Thanks Cody! The Versys is so much better for me. Appreciate your help trying to sort it out last time as well. Hope you’re doing well!
Looks good! Get it all figured out, go to the Desert Rally with me in Az next April.
@@rodrice1495 thanks! Turned out a little better. Send me the dates and I’ll see what I can do.
Get it figured out, we’ll go to the Desert Adv Rally in April
One of these days I’ll get it sorted.
Good job!
Thanks! He was pretty excited about it. We have a Jeep to work on now.
