Is this playeable already? all I can find on the download page is the yavin level with the academy map copypasted from outcast and that's it. Some of these videos are 8+ years old and with the high praise the mod gets, I must be doing something wrong. I mean, surely you people are not praising smoke, there must be something to it that I'm somehow missing.

@@tiranito2834 You can download it and play it. The mod has small sidequests, learning new things, different level of training fights etc. It is short, but it is really good! It's been a while since I played it, so there might be more to it now than I know (on top of all the unreleased stuff seen in these videos).

@@MagSulJA Seconded tbh, this is what I always wanted and expected from Jedi Academy. I was really surprised the Academy wasn’t a hub world that we could explore inbetween missions and select our next mission from. They even have a big chunk of it available to explore in Outcast so I expected something like that with NPCs training and stuff. This mod is beautiful and you’re doing amazing stuff.

That's a fair question! I had the idea to have a Jaden vs. Kyle sparring match that did take place in the +1 year timeline I'd established (since a match between those two doesn't happen with the light side ending, as you know!) In doing so, I learnt how to add new buttons to the menu! So, I thought it would be fun to add a few more levels that enrich the original game. Simply clicking "Play" takes you right into the main story of the mod at the Yavin temple, but alongside that will be a list of bonus one-offs like this. The other one that's already been implemented is a Rosh vs. Jaden level, which takes place before Tier 2 in the base game, just like the one this video showcases. 😃 EDIT: This is also why I tried to make a point of showing the original Rosh model/skin combination, rather than my aged edit for this scene. ^_^

@@MagSulJA Ah, I see. That's cool! I didn't even notice that Rosh, and also Kyle has the default skin, but yes, it's a good way of showing that this happens during the events of the base game. Only my attention to detail failed me this time. :D I would say the "vocal flashback" is a bit on the nose, but since the game doesn't have facial animations that could convey his emotion, I guess it is needed for the narrative. This is not a critique, just an observation. :)

@@starlighter93 That's exactly it! I'd prefer to show, not tell, but there's only so much one can achieve with the tools at their disposal. ^_^ I think it works without the voiceover, I'm still on the fence with it, but we'll see. 😃

@@MagSulJA You know, this got me thinking. I remembered Rosh's voice actor was Dustil Onasi in Kotor. I looked through his voice lines and found some that could be used to that effect. @@starlighter93 I'm aware of a few characters in other games Jason Marsden voiced in much the same way as Rosh, so it wouldn't sound too out of place if I were to use clips from them, as you say. I have thought about it - particularly the KotOR examples you mentioned, but haven't committed to any specific content that would require those options yet. I appreciate the support and the link to the resource though! 😃

Hi! First, thanks for playing. ^_^ The issue with objectives not showing correctly usually implies the mod has not been loaded normally. I.e. It sounds like you loaded JASP and then loaded the mod through the in-game mod menu, rather than using the .bat file included in the download! The night time level is mainly just a walk around and explore. There're six things that need to happen for the level to end: - Check in with Kyle/Jan in the hangar; - Check with Jaden/Rosh in the mission room; - Check with Luke in the ceremonial hall; - Modify your lightsaber; - Repair and then defeat the training droid; - Collected the kolto shipment for the medical droid. Once those six things are done in any order, your objectives will update, prompting you to return to the dormitory and use the bed. This is where the lastest public release ends for the moment. The next level should be ready some time in the Spring at the latest. ^_^
