Today we reflect on the service and sacrifice of those who have served our nation in conflicts past and present. In the words of Colonel Arthur Burke OAM (Retd.) “the Spirit of ANZAC is not confined to the battlefield. It lives in the schools, on the sports fields, in fact, all over these great countries of Australia and New Zealand. The sun invades our bodies and makes us 'mad'; mad for freedo...

A synthesis of film, dance, and music was the centrepiece of the Ku-ring-gai High School Anzac commemoration. ‘Echoes of the past’ provided historic imagery and commentary of conflicts faced by Anzac soldiers. The film served as a backdrop and was complemented by a dance piece, ‘Aftermath’, choreographed by Ms. Dunn and performed by HSC Dance students. A fitting musical item, ‘Safety of Distanc...

+Sarah Thank you Sarah for your words I will continue to view the world and participate in all I can in honour of them... hugs to you as well for your loss
so well worth watching. it brought tears to my eyes a few times. It takes a brave person to do what she is doing.
What a brave, brave woman. I am a mother to 2 boys, age 11 and 13. The way Michelle described Mathew and Brendon took my breath away, she could have been describing my 2, and I realised this could happen to any mother. Michelle, I want to let you know that I will use your video, and do all that I can to educate my boys about the dangers of driving. Your bravery must have saved countless young lives already, and I wish more than anything that you hadn't had to go through such a living Hell in order to do this, but wow, what an inspiration you must be to your 2 Angels, who must surely be looking down on you, bursting with pride and oh how they must love seeing you surfing and trekking in Nepal! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so selfless and using your own pain to try and prevent others, Sally xx
dear Mitchell you are such an amazing women and mother. I am inspired by you.
+Brittany Howard Thank you BrittanyTravel Safe Michelle

Thank you for sharing your story, a very powerful message. The stats displayed in this video are just shocking! I hope that your video stays in the minds of all drivers, and especially youngsters who have only just got their licenses. I absolutely cannot imagine what your family has been through. You truly are a strong lady. I wish you & your family all the best.
This is really well put together!, Keep up the good work man
Hi Michelle, I am so sorry to hear about your sons. I too lost a son, last year in March, to a motor bike accident. He was only 31 years old and has 2 little children. I still remember that knock on the door, that morning. I never thought it would happen to me. It has only been 17 months since, but I still cry and go visit where he died. I have people telling me, I shouldn't go there, but I feel close to him there. I talk to him. I have his ashes at home, but it is not the same. I feel robbed and betrayed. We had a bit of a disagreement a couple of months earlier, so we weren't talking when he died. I would give anything to tell him how much I loved him. You are one brave and courageous lady. I hope your message gets through to these young children. I know it is not going to bring our children back, but might save the heartache for other families. xoxo
I am so sorry for your loss, I'm 18 this year and hopefully will get my Ps, your story has opened my eyes on just how dangerous the roads can be! thank you for teaching others about the dangers of speeding and how tragedy can strike anyone.. Pest in peace Brendon and Matthew.
TessTeeganMastin Thank you Tess..travel safe and follow the rules that's all you have to do :)
I am a 16 year old teen and this video had me crying 5 minutes through. You are so brave and strong, very proud of you !! Your video has inspired me... I lost my brother, 6 months ago he was 22. I watch everyday as my mother tries to live her life without her son, never being able to hear his voice again.
Nessy Elle Thank you Nessy you know only too well what the pain is like, and yes for us mums its super tough, one day when you have children you will understand more from the mums perspective, I miss seeing my boys but especially miss hearing them smelling them and just being able to touch them..their sister misses them terrible but shares good funny memories with me that make me smile..Hugs to you and big hugs to mum its a tough road but if you support each other you will get through it.
Thank you for sharing your story Michelle it really touched my heart as I have 2 teenage boys, my 16yr old is about to drive and this has always been a worry of mine, so I will be sitting down with them and sharing your story. RIP to your 2 beautiful boys Brendon or Mathew <3
Miss Jayde Tahnk you Jayde,it is a worry and the young ones just think we over react hopefully with this video and recent news stories they will realise you just have to treat a car with respect, follow the road rules and get home safely..xx
thank you for sharing your story and teaching others about the dangers of speeding and how tragedy can happen to anyone. i haven't lost anyone to a road fatality but i have children and while my eldest is only 13 its never to early to start educating him on road safety
Big hug.
