33% Throttle Pull | Test & Tune the 2.5L Supercharged Carpenter Rocket III Stroker
A short clip showing what only 33% throttle is like, and only up to 6000rpm.
It can gather speed before you know it, with little effort.
500 trouble free miles since the build, working on the upper regions of the fuel & ignition maps now. The cams are designed to make peak power north of 8000rpm and this will rev to 9000rpm.

Tuning the 2.5L Supercharged Carpenter Rocket III Stroker with a BMW 2.5 Bar MAP sensor
Просмотров 373Год назад
So the factory MAP sensor is a 1 Bar, as the engine is NA from factory so the MAP only needs to see atmospheric and below. When going forced induction, this MAP sensor is no longer suitable, so has been replaced here with a BMW 2.5 Bar MAP sensor. This totally screws the load-based (MAP based) fuel tables, as the factory ECU is configured for a 1 Bar MAP sensor, so one must start from scratch w...
Rocket III 50 - 80mph comparison

When breaking in the 2.5L Supercharged Carpenter Rocket III Stroker engine, I noticed that with seemingly little effort (3-4000rpm in 3rd, and only 28% throttle) that it accelerated from 50 to 80mph quite similarly to the stock bike does at 100% throttle (and seemingly a lot more 'effort'). Makes you wonder what acceleration will be like when the bike is actually tuned and using 100% throttle i...

So after the build in the summer, a few months later on a cold 02-Jan-23 day I finally got to take the monster out for its first spin, pulling over a few times to do some initial tuning, and then getting on with the engine break in. Maximum throttle used was 28%.

Toggling through the gear positions 1-N-2-3-4-5-6 (although 6th position is not used on a Rocket III (2.3L) as it is a 5 speed) showing how the gear selector shaft moves, where the gear position sensor (GPS) mounts to the engine.
Rocket III Not-So-Uncommon problem | Floppy or Stuck Shifter Lever
Просмотров 4,5 тыс.3 года назад
A simple bolt in the shifting mechanism can come loose, due to the threadlock adhesive being applied incorrectly in the factory. This results in a floppy shift level, which will not change gear. The shifter can get jammed also. This is different from the 'detent spring' problem, where the manifestation is the bike won't stay in gear, but the shift lever still works.

is there any tutorial on how to upgrade the brakes??
Good video but wtf are you chewing om with the mic in your throat.
How does one set the voltage correct or does it matter?
@@godackgudalach1 using TuneECU, TuneBoy or Triumph Diagnostics to read back what the voltage is, physically move it until target volts achieved then tighten the bolt on the TPS
@@r-iii-rturbo9157so I have my secondaries removed and just slapped it on. Bike runs perfect now 💪 I guess the voltage don't matter anyhow for me lol thanks for your videos!!!! Really helped me today as I thought the secondary was the device below it that bigger with the adjustment but on the back side for setting the idle. Anyway bikes all fixed and running good now! Thank you!
@@godackgudalach1 great. Iirc there is a tick box in TuneECU (Android version) that's for when you've physically removed the secondary butterflies, shaft and all. It let's ECU ignore input errors from missing secondaries parts and not throw fault codes. But if you've left the shaft in and removed the butterfly plates only then that's not necessary.
@@r-iii-rturbo9157 yup it's all removed and box is checked. With tuning exhaust and filter pods it ran 155tq and 150hp. I'm a happy Rocketeer now! Carpenters 245 kits and back cut dogs coming this winter hopefully. Thanks again!
Serious bike i must look out for it around town 👌
A million thanks ! I was dreaming about buying a Rocket 3 but this failure is just not acceptable ! I just decided not to buy this bike !
Hi! Thanks for sharing. Where can I find a version of the Triumph Diagnostics program? Thanks a lot!
That went from slow cruise to felony speed really quick, especially considering you rolled into it pretty easy. Can't wait to see the final results.
Very nice!
The grin it must put on your face, I hope your cheeks are aching,it sound fantastic and the power it's putting out can be heard, Absolute bliss....👌
I have the same issue with my mirrors too. Bike sounds great,

Which one do you prefer?
I usually use TuneECU on Windows (the Android version has more features but is an absolute headache imo with the bike registration jip). I use Triumph software for bleeding ABS and unlocking ECUs. And TuneBoy and Triumph get used sometimes as a 2nd view on something after TuneECU.
@@r-iii-rturbo9157thanks! Does TuneECU not work well for brake bleeding?
@@hlpang1075 apparently the Android version of TuneECU can do it, but I've not used that function on it yet. When the time came to bleed brakes, TuneECU had introduced the registration of bikes and that put me off using it.
having owned this bike for many years i can tell you to not quick shift this bike or you will run into issues down the road. The motor does and can stress the transmission
This is so useful, I've looked everywhere for a video showing how to align these gears. This a triumph but same thing applies to my Honda cbf600. Thanks!
