You now need a bass player. The cajon also needs micing to be loud enough to compete with guitars as it's a bit quiet in the mix. Love this, and I also do this occasionally when playing metal. I don't have the space for a "real" drum set, or the conditions (neighbours hate loud sound) and lack the coordination for metal drumming (I've got great rhythm but on a real set I can only play simple beats, as playing anything fast causes my legs and hands to sync up and I end up just playing everything as one note), so a cajon is definitely a fun way to get a beat down without paying for a session player or sitting and programming drums, which is boring.
