Because of the gore I have to show a thumbnail that is not gore. So I will invert the colors or something so its not red. And this is for a video game - BeamNG Though a real life dummy was used as the model for the head you will see. The gore is all animated and not real. Colored Blue to make thumbnail not be gore... This videos shows approximately how a damaged texture swap may look on the dum...

@@MarcMonson haha, that would be no depth lol… This is old video, no telling what crazy things i said then. You also have a depth map that also affects the depth but I am still not sure if it overrides what the groundmodels settings are. There is easier way. Load world editor and go to the menus at the top left and look for ground mode debug. Open that up and scroll to grass. Open the tabs and you can change all that stuff on the fly. Save level. Think this old video I am showing the method of putting a groundmodel.json in your levels root, in a folder called groundmodels. It works too. If you start having issues with the ground, hit the ~ key and look to see if there is a terrain.depthmap.png. It needs to be size of the map, 4k 4096 x 4096 and be greyscale. That causes a lot of on performance issues too. Since the console keeps looking for one. Just make a white sheet. I thing but pure white, look for the error and named the png what the file name is it is looking for. White i am pretty sure is no depth at all, allowing for you to manual adjust it through the text file or the other method.
Textures are from FAB.com unlimited free MegaScan assets until end of 2024. Dark one is a hard lava. and Mud was is some dirt ground. Too many to remember which ones exactly They are both maps made to be tiled like macro maps, but I dont like how they look with high pass filters so I use them here scaled very large but acting as a base color map. The black one has a macro map too to help with some of the tiling. Pond Bottom is another one you may see, but its not using any macro or detail maps, its is scaled 512 x more than it needs to be. It tiled really bad using as base map.

@@Zafira-Fan absolutely, finish it and upload to repo and claim as your own too ;) I wish I had time to finish everything.. but sadly i do not. If you need any help with your journey of completing it. Or get snagged let me know. I may have an unused idea or two still not used. Basically the airbag is already expanding with a lot of force. Only think holding it small is some FLT_MAX beams that can break if a trigger breaks that the beams are sharing through a break group. If it was not done this way then you could never get the beams sting enough to hold the expanding airbag (being expanded by inside of the airbag beams that are using a very high pre-compression..’maybe 10.0 for precompression. The trigger is just node and beam placed near bumper. A crash bad enough to make number go in will break the small beam setting off the break group for the bag wanting to expand but being held back by the flt_max
@@Zafira-Fan it was a fun little project. I had plans to expand this to drag racers but not sure about how the real ones work enough to make mine realistic. It would be cartoony but would work if I did it. Already test a parachute and that worked great

@@jesseu5249 no problem, it might be easier way, or all those steps may not be needed. Just happy It worked . I did not say but the thumbnails are cropped 2:1 and I scale mine to 1200 x 600 but game uses lower than that. Let me know if problem getting a screenshot in, I only have done thumbnails for cars. Assuming the process is similar

@@samuelloomis9714 haha, you must be a football fan or you love playing with the most realistic car crash simulator on the planet :) I’m not a football fan, someone asked for this to go in the car crash sim, BeamNG. Look up BeamNG crash compared to real life and you will see the reason most enjoy it. And modding for it is what I do. But I make crazy stuff that is not l car related, like rat crossing the road or tornado for example

Thank you, you are too kind! I figured it out from a desire to really really want to make something for the game. I knew nobody had videos on replacing Crashhards dummy with my own head, so that was first thing I set out to learn. I was not going to ask him to do that haha, so I did for just personal use. I make my own dummies now though. Once I started learning that I had to also learn Blender. I was from 3dmax. That extended student copy exired...Better for it, max sux for BeamNG it has DAE writting problem or something the dev said. Started learning how to make a track when someone asked me to make it. It was learning as I went along kinda thing. Took an entire month to learn how to do the things needed for making a track and sending to repo. (At some point I plan to do a HD remaster with what I know now) Then I knew I wanted to do what nobody else was doing. So I started learning odd things, to make track unique. In the end it was a nice little track that had many issues, but it was fun. That track is in the repo.. Ukraine. No I am neutral to what has happening there. I made this because someone asked, that was before war started. I have friends everywhere and care less for politics. If you DL it, you have to park next to an outhouse (2 on the map) and walk to it....And you must walk to the little lake in the middle of the map and see the fish swimming in there.. It was a LOT of trial and error more than anything, There was no tutorials out since world edit 2.0 had just came out. So I started making tutorials to help out the next person. Trying to stay up to date on all the changes that happen and inform on them. But its too much stuff to do everything. I do not care for cars, I make the weird stuff because it is more interesting for me to make, and more along the lines of what I like. But I do so some requests. Typically stuff that only takes 1/2 a day or less to complete (no that is not a car tutorial beginning to end-- Trust me, if you or anyone else wants to learn complete car creation, See MortZBNG or Filman86. Enough people already make cars... People do not make many maps.

Just so you all know, I am not profiting from this, Any revenue this makes I am giving to Brittany (one in crash). So far its been watched 4.5 hours of time and made 0.50 cents. Because of this crash she will not drive a car.

@@jesseu5249 I am too. 3 years on this stuff I have yet to look into them. I will look into it more. I had an issue with them spawning anything. Kept spawning in the ocean. Last few levels i tinkerered around with I just replaced the devs terrain block with my own, and just reused their spawn spears. Let me see what I can figure out. It’s something I needed to do for a while now

@@dilipkumar7122 if you are talking about a version mismatch and it not loading.. same thing happened to me. If that is the problem you have I don’t currently have anything to provide to help there.. I will look and see if others asked about it and see if there is a solution. May just have to do like me and record with shadowplay and just do the best you can with the camera in real time.. I hate the replay camera performance jitters. The farther away from the reference nodes the part of the jbeam is, the worst it shakes. In my last video at the end I show the goal post looking like someone ghost hand was moving it around. Since the field goal and the leg kicking ball is same jbeam, and reference nodes are in the ball, then it shakes really bad. The replay is more than just a recording of what happened in the traditional video captures. This is basically scripting every event in numbers and code and it’s actually the game engine reproducing the gameplay that looks like the video. And if the game version is not the same, it’s likely there was something changed that is not compatible with recording. Remember the recording is basically the game in a bundle minus the core stuff. Stuff like things that are updated when a new update is made. Separately from user folder. I just use shadow play and try to do cool stuff with camera. Do what CrashHard does for his recordings. Ever notice how smooth they are… that is camera skill but also the video is recorded in slow motion and played back at a faster speed for video processing. Makes it easier to get cameras to do stuff without having to rush.

@@maximkoch8975 I wish I knew how to make the reference nodes sit in a gimbal. That way the gimble can spin all around but the reference nodes stay level. I messed around with this with the velocity camera mode I posted a while back in an older video. I was not a great working gimbal but it helped some. A good kick the ball would do an lot better. The ball is lighter now than it was in this video. I said about having it posted in the morning.. I did not finally get to sleep until the morning. Just now getting up.

@@BeamNGOnly-d6s control - R refresh jbeam, control L to refresh LUA if you edit any of those. Like those that are in the LUA/Ge/extensions/gameplay like forcefield … not sure what ones do not update with game running. But yeah, control R to refresh if updating the jbeam on like a 2nd monitor and saving the. Quick refresh. Something’s I believe do update without having to do that, certain json stuff like groundmodels, that happens in real time as you tweak the settings. Something you can try if your having issue with your update is deleting the user folder temp folder 0.33/temp/vehicles/folder containing cached version of the Dae used in mod. Not sure what it exactly writes to the cache but have had a couple times it was necessary. Also if updating your Dae from blender while game is running sometimes when dealing with multiple updates in real time, the game will try to add a new texture of the same texture in the main.materials.json. If you know dam well you saved a texture and reload and it’s wrong, then you got a duplicate in there. Just remove the one that is the little one. Long one would be the one with the stuff you added to texture beyond the base color. Game will only handle the base color texture from Blender, in case you do that. And it had to be a photo based texture not procedural.

@@Mr.CryCat unreal 5 grass I got from unreal engine. Had a lot of them but they are a little tricky to get if the engine. Got to export them as one thing, import them in blender, redo something’s andn export to beam. Beam don’t use nanite, so when its a lot of polys. You feel it lol.

@@caroftomorrow you have to open the zip, copy the folder in there to clip board, and paste in your levels folders so that it is in there by itself. It’s not jbeam mod, it’s just a track asset DAE with a solid collision mesh. I would like to make a jbeam one though. Would make for a lot more Possibilities. 0.33/levels/smallgrid/decapitator/ For example.

@@MeroGego I hit a dear and it destroyed the Grand Prix I had. His ass kept on going. After being hit. Think if a semi hits it full force it may look like the exploding goats trains hit sometimes. But having a smaller car hit it will kill the car. I likely am not doing anything else with the deer. But anyone has my permission to do whatever they want with it. As with everything I share. The next animal after the exploding dummy is going to be an alligator 🐊 I dont know when that will be. I suck at estimating when things will get done.

@@GangsterStefan tired efforts, sleep schedule is crazy. I just can’t seem to give the game a break. I do go walk around the neighborhood from time to time. Always got the terminator eyes in scan mode… looking for track assets. Rocks mostly. Appreciate the kind words…
