@@margaretslater6053 it was a total of 6 hours drive to arrive in Xela from the Guatemala City Airport. We did multiple stops so I don’t quite recall we’re exactly. But the Traffic was Insane that day. If you decide to drive anywhere in Guatemala highly recommended for you to always leave earlier than usual. Well it all depends you can probably find a better deal online, I haven’t rented anything before online so I’m not quite sure whats the prices. I always make a reservation with Guatemala Rent A Car you can do it online or once you arrive at the airport, you will need a credit card for a deposit and they will refund you once you drop off. The miles are unlimited and they are very reasonable and reliable cars. They also provide discounts when you book with them for more than 4 days. I highly recommend them that’s the only spot we rent cars from when we are in Guate. @@itfpascual Yes just the basics most importantly enough water and snacks. I would recommend you take an extra set of cloth and a jacket . And if you decide to go with the v-hiking agency they will provide all of the sleeping bags and blankets at their base camp. I hope I was able to answer your question 🙏🏽🙏🏽

At that time of recording and my research Quetzaltenango, was the second largest city with a population of 200,000. But As of right know Cobán is number 4 With a population of 212.047. Villa Nueva is number 2 with a population of 618,397 but it’s still consider to be part of Guatemala City’s population.

Yes the Santiaguito, is one of the most active lava-dome located in the town of Quetzaltenango, The Volcano Of Fuego is the one located near Antigua which is also Active.

We stayed in an Airbnb inside the “Torre La Floresta”. It’s definitely an amazing location and it’s super nice inside the building. It’s also really close to the Center of Xela.

Totally Agree it’s definitely a challenge driving In Guatemala City but not impossible. For the most part Public or local transportation those definitely take much more time to get around. Thanks for watching and i appreciate your support 🙏🏽🙏🏽

@@iluv2_travel My Favorite Towns around the Lake are San Juan and San Marcos. San Marcos definitely has some amazing Airbnbs will full panoramic views and are amazing to relax. San Juan has lots of activities and lots of arts and viewpoints. A town that’s more local and isn’t to touristy that I’ve been too is Santa Cruz it’s also a very safe and relaxing town to stay in. Overall you can stay anywhere around the Lake Atitlan and you won’t be disappointed.

I typical don’t stay in hotels but Guatemala has so much amazing Airbnbs. I stayed in an Airbnb near the Zone 10. You can definitely find some amazing deals with great views.

A drone permit is not required for recreational use but it is required for commercial drone use in Guatemala. I got mine through "uavsystemsinternational" but you can also obtain it through a new kiosks system they have their just ask any security person working there and they can help you with that.
