My name is Karl Brobakk and I use this RUclips channel to share my travel videos.
I am all about the outdoors and make a lot of hiking videos, but you will also find some action packed activities on my channel.
I live in Oslo, but spend some of my time working as a hiking guide in the Norwegian mountains, as well as leading Northern light trips. And in between spending time in Oslo or leading trips, I travel quite a bit.

Montaña del Viso - Gran Canaria, Spain
We started the hike at the Mirador de San Nikolas, went up to Viso, then decended down Barranco del pino. From there I hitchhiked back to the car.

A really nice hike in Southern Gran Canaria. Close to El Barranquillo de Andres. I did a loop and had to walk for a little less than one hour on the road to get back to the car. Well, I got a ride for part of the way, but it would have been less than one hour!

The Blue eye is a popular attraction in the Theth area in Albania. Most people drive most of the way, and hike up and down again. We hiked from Theth, and got transportation back. Swimming the Blue eye is something you should do, but be prepared for low water temperatures.

I returned to Gran Canaria again this year to do some more hikes: Canal de las ninas, Arco grande, Alto de las toscas/sukkertoppen, from Degollade de las Yeguas to Fataga, passing by Roque Almeida, from Mirador de San Nikolas to Visa, and then down barranco Pino, a loop from the parking near Roque Nublo, up El Montanon, Degollada de la cumbre, La Culata and back to the parking, from La Solana, ...
Lengarica Canyon - Permet, Albania

The Lengarica canyon is an epic adventure. 4-5 kilometers long, with the Lengarica river flowing through it. Make sure to check out the thermal baths at the same time, which is the main reason why people go to this area. Benja thermal baths.

We did a 7 day trip (5 days of trekking) in May 2024. We enjoyed the trek, but I have to point out that animal welfare is not taken care of well enough in this area. The mules carry a lot, and there is no reason why the muleteers should ride the animals on top of that load. This is something I pointed out in my evaluation, and I also contacted G Adventures directly in order to address this issue.

Nice to see both of you again. I like bathing and swimming but Edo, my dog, doesn't.
Does Edo like snow?

Flott med tåka 👍
Nice 👍
Takk!
Unwatchable
Why are you here then?
Det så lett ut 🙂👍

@@KarlBrobakk Ja sjekk siste video 👍🙂
Hi I'm considering visiting Morocco with G adventures - how was your experience overall? And how many people were in your group? I'm looking to visit in December :)
Hi, I had a great time in Morocco. I did three trips with G Adventures, and they were all very good. We had around 12 guests, more or less, in each group.
11-6 why do they always celebrate catching a fish by the water and then drop in the water.
I know right, they always start holding it up and jumping around in joy right next to the water bank 😂😂😂
When you send your pulk to free run, like the dog off leash. Run free lil fella! what a great trip.
Glad you liked the video, and the pulk action :D
Wow , Like the music,
The music is from the RUclips free audio library. Several songs by Dan Lebowitz here!
For these videos to be helpful, all the names have to be spelled out. Also, no point in giving 2 seconds on a transportation map without telling people how to access it. What if you can't bring fishing gear, etc? can these be rented?
The video is meant to inspire people and give an idea of how you can travel Norway on a budget. You will still need to do some research yourself.
You are annoying.
How is this video from 5 years ago called alone season 11
It seems fun, great video :)
@@sa_med It was a good trip 👍
Sjekk og keep up the good work.
👍🙂
Noe spesielt med Skottland 👍

Very nice! Can you do this hike if you are afraid of heights (e. g. as in climbing towers)? Are there any narrow paths that lead over steep slopes on the way up?
You should be ok. I always try to film sections that are difficult/spectacular/exposed, so it what you see seems fine, then go for it. You might want to stop at the top I got to 1,28 into the video though.
Such a beautiful country and you did a great job taking us along on your journey! Feels like we were right there alongside you!
Thank you Biya, glad you liked the video!
In welchem Monat seid ihr da gewesen?
Late September!
Flott! :)
Glad for at du likte videoen!
Hi. Great report. In what month did your trip take place?
Glad you liked it! We did it during the second half of August!
I'm going there this year. I'm wondering which month to go. How was the mosquitoes?
@@JJJakuBBB1 it was just fine in late August. If it droppes below 10 Celcius at night, then the mosquitoes will more or less be gone for the season. I went there in July another year, and that was not pleasant...
This looks like another great trip! It brings back wonderful memories!
It was a great week!
hi man, great video! quick question, how does the alcohol/partying situation look like? I know beer/wine etc is extra on the vessel, but I think it'll be expensive and limited, right? does the boat dock at islands? do the islands have bars and liquor shops etc? i can do ofc without alcohol, in fact im prepared to enjoy a sober week, but just wanted to know what I'm getting into :) esp. I'll be on 18-30s trip as opposed to your more conventional one
Glad you liked the video! It was possible to buy beer on the boat, maybe some wine as well. I think it was about 3-5 usd for a small can of beer. The itinerary we had included stops at some smaller islands, but there was no alcohol to be found there. I would be surprised if you find any liquor stores.
@@KarlBrobakk you've been to phi phi, thailand, as part of the Dhoni Explorer tour?

You mak it look so easy! Kudos.
You could have done this as well David. So let me know when you change your mind abour winter trips ;)
What was life on the boat like?
I liked the boat a lot. Plenty of space, and different areas where you could hang out, or even go to your room and relax. A lot of great food and snacks throughout the day. We played cards and did some music games now and then, and also relaxed up top in the sun, or under the stars. And I spent as much time as possible in the water. Let me know if you have any further questions :)
Smuk video
Takk!

Bro, You are setting a plot in bit bad way.. I know this is raw video but don't you see good places more compare to bad/dirty places??? or u are also following Hollywood trent 😄
I am not sure what you are implying here. I have made a video that captures my experience in Southern India. I focus on the different attractions we visited, as well as numerous details that I found interesting and wanted to capture, partly due to it beeing different.
Yepp, 10/10 badass. Glimrende!
Your next hike David!
100 ft of 6 ft wide seine is a lot for one man to move by himself. you have to use poles, driven into the mud, to help you move such a seine. What you do is attach each end of the seine to the outside corners of each of the 2 weirs. which are set say, 60 ft apart. then you move the center of the seine towards the shore. after you get to the shore, you keep moving further up the bank and moving more of the seine onto the land. eventually, the fish will all be forced into the weirs.
there's 900 ft of rope in the hammock, 3 strands in the rope, 44 threads in each strand. Cotton gets STRONGER when it's wet, so 6 threads makes a string that's strong enough for netting. You wont be lifting huge catches of fish out of the water. all your netting has to do is be a seine, pushing fish ahead of it, or a weir, trapping fish in a small area. You can make 1200 sq ft of 2" mesh out of the hammock, 6 threads to the string, and still have plenty of rope and strands for camp needs. If you put 5 threads to the string, it would let you make 9 strings, not just 7. so 18% more netting. 1400 sq ft of such netting. can be had and it would be strong enough
you see idiots trying to make netting as they STAND in front of a line stretched between trees. No man, you create a hoop out of a bent and lashed green stick and SIT DOWN. You''re going to be making netting for half of each day, for 2 weeks. the other half of the day, you'll be unraveling the two person cotton rope hammock, unraveling the rope, unraveling the strands, and spinning 6 of the 44 cotton threads into string, then spooling tbat string onto sticks, so it's ready to make netting. There's more work in getting the string than in making the netting.
minnows will detect the rotting fish guts inside of the bait bags of the chumliner and hang around the little holes you've poked in those bags. The bigger fish will come for the minnows. Eventually, LOTS of fish will be in the sweep area of your seine. When you seine such a heavily-baited area, thousands of cubic feet of water, 2-3x per day, you're going to be catching 20+ lbs of fish per day, maybe even 100+ lbs of fish per day This lets you bait in a bear, which is fat for hibernation. Make a stake and log bait box that only a bear can access and set it 10m from your tree blind., That bear's fat will mean that you gain BACK any weight that you've lost on your fish and cambium diet. Bears can detect the stench of a 50 lb pile of rotting fish heads and guts from many miles away and they DARE NOT just ignore such a food source when they need to prep for hibernation. So you'll get multiple shots at bears. if it was for-real, you''d need 400+ lbs of fish and 2-3 bears to get you thru the winter.
once you have the raft, you can make a 400m long 'chumline', with a tarp and tape bait-bag tied to a wooden float every 20m. This lets you bring a lot of fish into the area that you will seine. Pulling a weighted rope thru the area you INTEND to seine will locate the various "snags' that will catch your net. If you can' remove those snags, set your weirs someplace else, or mark the snags with a tall pole and strategist how to work around each one. You can make your seine divisible at such points, letting you divide the net there, move those ends of your seine around the snag and then re-connect the seine-ends., without losing many fish.during your "sweep". Be sure to butcher your fish IN the weirs, so that the resulting blood and guts baits the weirs Some of the guts and heats can be tied into bags, which are tied to some of the weir-posts, so that the baiting does not just dissapate into the water.
You can make the pontoon outrigger raft in one day, using the 3 pairs of coveralls and the backpack as pontoons. Stuff them with dry debris, sew and tape the seams and each one will float a big man. the 8 small logs that make up the FRAME of the raft total 80 lbs or less. It wont matter if the logs float or not, you see. when you tie up the raft at the end of the day, remove the pontoons and secure them vs flooding and wind storms. They are irreplaceable.
If you take the gear that's always been taken, you'll be stuck with being unable to do more than has always been done, which has always FAILED (miserably) other than when pure LUCK got a couple of them a big animal. Those two had no other game plan. If there had been no big animals in their area, they'd just be two more losers whose name you could not remember. Those lakes are PROVEN to be full of big fish. Efficent netfishing will ALWAYS outperform hook and line fishing, especially when it's cold and especially when you cant use organic bait OR barbed hooks.. No, you do NOT have to wait until you finish making all of the netting before it can help you feed yourself. Each days netting can become a baited net-weir, until you have enough more netting made to assemble some of the weirs into a seine and use the seine to force fish from 4-5 ft deep water into the 18" deep water where the weirs are set.
Nice trip! Going on the same trip in April. Where is your shirt from?
Awesome, you will enjoy the trip! My shirt? The rash guard?
Yes the rash guard, i am also thinking about buying one for the trip. I never used one before.
@@nicok8100 I have had that one for years. It says "Huntington beach" on it, but I think I might have picked it up in Central America. It is always good to wear a rash guard when you are snorkeling/free diving. The sun is strong, and you have some protection if you bump into something.

Is this a survival challenge for children because there is something wrong with this guy?! 🤔
US sanctioned 20 individuals and 29 companies for facilitating ISIS and Al Qaeda in Maldives. That says everything that one needs to know about this factory of terror. Maldives is a radicalized country whose citizens join terrorist networks. Visiting Maldives is the same as supporting these terrorists.
