I haven't had a channel description in ages though I don't want to seem cryptic so here goes:
Hi there, I'm Fun4None and I'm an artist/video archivist/animator. I've been posting public content for 7 years though I became a more serious "RUclipsr" when I started doing archival Beatles videos in 2020, and I also restarted my stop motion animation career. Nowadays I do a mix of video archival work/art projects. If you like the Beatles or Marvel Comics then you might enjoy my page :)

B&W silent footage of the Doors performing at MSG on January 24th, 1969. All clips here have been audio synchronized with the audience tape by me except for the band introduction and The Soft Parade clip which weren't mine. I did want to audio sync the entire 15 minutes but it proved difficult because of how out of order the film was and how blurry and/or short some clips were. I tried my best....

1968 16mm color footage of the Iveys (later known as Badfinger) miming to 'Maybe Tomorrow' for a TV promo film. This was recorded in the basement of 3 Savile Row, where The Beatles would later finish the Let it Be/Get Back project. The full Iveys outtakes are over 30 minutes long but they are in the hands of private collectors. This footage was originally silent but I have audio synced it to th...

16mm color footage of the Byrds performing at Village Theater in New York City. This footage was originally filmed by Ira Schneider. This 6 second clip comes from a documentary while the majority of this film remains unseen. I was not able to audio sync this footage to what they were actually playing but I have added "Lady Friend" for ambiance.
Paul McCartney on The Tonight Show (NBC, 1968)
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.Год назад
On May 14th, 1968 Beatle members John Lennon and Paul McCartney appeared alongside actress Tellulah Bankhead on NBC's The Tonight Show. This show was not hosted by Johnny Carson but instead by Joe Garagiola. As NBC would typically do, the mastertapes to most Tonight Show episodes were wiped and reused. Thankfully, an 8mm film of a b&w TV playing the show survived and so I've hand colorized over...
The Doors - Colgate University 8mm Film, March 15th 1968 (Synced)

Here's a snippet of a color 8mm film of the Doors performing at Colgate University. These 24 seconds were released when the film was being auctioned off. After carefully studying the film, I have figured out which songs they were playing. Sadly a Colgate audiotape isn't available so I used other shows. Credit to Tom Reid for filming this piece.

Simon 98,99%, stupid Garfunkel big noise.
They look like twins! Never knew he had a brother let alone that could play!
Listen to Those lyrics
Damn, I still know all the words by heart.
16:22 The way Paul sings the word "songs" here is great! Never heard him do it that way before.

It is sadly but a totall clown in the stage.😢
Holy Toledo, they’re actually playing that song patterns from Parsley Sage Rosemary what a killer tune
sure why not, he played it on the record
@ I guess it’s just cool to see it actually played live because I’ve only heard the album version. I’m assuming what I saw was a live performance not them playing along to the recording.
@@jamesmack3314 sure it was live. paul simon could play guitar no joke there. but I see what you're saying. I don't think I've ever seen these guys faking to a pre-recorded backing track, they tended to always be live since it was only the two of them, especially at the beginning. And they wanted to kill each other even back then, think about that.
@ well the latest is they’ve kissed and made up….. but these guys are ancient Garfunkel‘s well into his 80s
@@jamesmack3314 well I've seen nothing of the sort whatsoever...but I would hope so even for their own sanity in the real twilight of life.
Maybe it should’ve been Simon and Simon….and Garfunkel
Their vocals meshed together is an unbeatable combination that few could do as beautifully as they did
There should be a quite long footage somwhere i believe.
Where?
@@Fun4None250 i judge just by the counter overlay.
Best 16 seconds of my life
I thought this was the concert at mount Tam in marine County
@@mattandrickadventures8416 That was 1967, this is 1968.
The BEST duo ever!! These songs were part of my being in the '60s and '70s! Paul -a great songwriter and musician and Garfunkel with a phenomenal voice created some of the best songs of my generation and beyond!
Me are this song spring u r timeline make u a short interwie... worldpeace ...
Wow, December of 69. WHERE has the time gone?
Tell me about it
December 1967
Where did you get the "touch me" part of the concert? I can't find it anywhere.
@@jcorsen It's from the L.A. Forum show since a recording of it at MSG doesn't exist.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🦎👑
Simon and Garfunkel, been following them since the 70’s,they are too good to be true, blessed to be one of their fans
"Angie" probably one of the best and most melodic acoustic guitar Jams ever done, wasn't Paul Simons Brother with a group called " The Cyrkle" 2 songs come to mind "Turn down Day: and "Red Rubber Ball" ( the bigger hit, 1966).. The absolute GOAT Folk Duo!, ah, The 60's, such variety and creativity that came out of that decade alone!
The only song called Angie that I know is done by The Rolling Stones and it’s sublime
Anji, the name of the song is Anji, by Dave Stewart@@jamesmack3314
Paul's guitar is wonderful )
Simon's guitar like Nick Drake is a miracle .
Paul Simon has a guitar playing brother?
Who knew?!
Paul Simon was one of my musical influences growing up
Thank you so very much for putting this together and bringing this to us!!!! It sure takes me back!! I was born in 1948… they were so talented… I didn’t appreciate them so much when I was younger… And I didn’t know that Simon had a brother!! It looks like they were/are twins!!, yes?! Have you found the gospel of Jesus Christ yet?!? He is coming soon!!!! 🩷😊👌🙏😇✝️🇺🇸✡️🇮🇱🎸🎤
Am I seeing double? Paul Simon has a twin brother.
Many thanks! This performance captures them at a wonderful time in their career together. Blessings from the Caribbean 🌴
Wonderful intimate performance of early S&G songs!
'effin brilliant! Thanks for this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Okay, now I'm off to find the episode with Bobby Darin!
Unfortunately that video doesn't exist online (though I imagine Retro Video Inc has it) however if you go on RUclips you can hear the audio on a video called "A Grand Night for Swinging."
'For Emily Whenever I May Find Her,' as sung by Art, is surely one of the most beautiful songs ever.
Artie seems cutely surprised by the audience's applause.
Art Garfunkel has an anazing voice. 😊
Amazing! Thank you! Love and ☮
I can't think of any better popular music that came from the 60's.
There's something bizarre but also very touching about this poem lavishing so much attention on one, lonely man furtively writing his four letter word on a subwaay advert, labelling it a "Poem". " the last train is nearly due, the underground is closing soon, and in the dark deserted station, restless in anticipation, a man waits in the shadows. his restless eyes leap and snatch, at all that they can touch or catch, and hidden deep within his pocket, safe within its silent socket, he holds a coloured crayon. now from the tunnel's stony womb, the carriage rides to meet the groom, and opens wide the welcome doors, but he hesitates, then withdraws deeper in the shadows. and the train is gone suddenly. on wheels clicking silently like a gently tapping litany, and he holds his crayon rosary tighter in his hand. now from his pocket quick he flashes, the crayon on the wall he slashes, deep upon the advertising, a single-worded poem comprising four letters. and his heart is laughing, screaming, pounding, the poem across the tracks resounding, shadowed by the exit light his legs take their ascending flight to seek the breast of darkness and be suckled by the night. But maybe this is all about the "Mother And Child Reunion"...
14:30 Sound of Silence
First concert I saw was S&G and Lovin Spoonful ‘67. Defined my musical taste
Great. Many thanks. Roy Wilbraham
This was brilliant! Thanks for sharing for sure!
Glad you enjoyed it!
These guys seem fairly talented.
Switching to Doc as I am in a Doc Watson frame of mind tonight.
What song is this?
Read the video description.
When Art sings alone I fall into a beautiful dreamlike trance.
Paul Simon is a true poet
Preciosas todas❤❤
Aya donde estés para ti Enrique de toda tu familia que te estraña mucho te queremos siempre con nosotros
Sound of Silence, and Bridge over Trouble Waters represent modern American poetry. They don't need a single note. Now the notes sure as hell don't hurt... but they are not neeeded.
That was really enjoyable. However, they may have been lip-syncing to the album version of “Patterns.” A bass guitar and percussion instruments are audible, but nowhere in sight. Plus, it looks like Paul has his capo on the 2nd or 3rd fret, but it sounds like he doesn’t. No harm, though. All the other songs seem live. And I never knew Paul had a brother. They look like twins!
The backing track of Patterns was the same as the album but the vocals were live.
💖
Bookends is one of the finest albums ever made. It has the vibe of the times but yet somehow doesn't feel dated.
It's one of my favorite album from them too :)
soft parade live, totally badass!
This, and Who Scare You are total bangers right there
Super compilation including some obscure songs and a rare glimpse of Paul's brother.
The best concert I’ve ever seen was on September 19,1981 in Central Park.
