I did another experiment on premiere pro to upmix mono audio to stereo without any artifacts when downmix back to mono. I found out that using invert and delay effect will do the job. I downloaded and used your file and it was a breeze! I have been searching for days for a way to create 5.1 for a theater projection of a drama I videotaped in stereo. I did not want any fancy mix, just convert the stereo track to 5.1because that is how they wanted it in the DCP and this did it effortlessly! Pretty decent results! Btw I get almost the same sound on the fly, when using virtual emulation of 5.1 in PotPlayer - it sounds similar to what Adobe Audition makes.

oh not really, they've added new model which is the dear vr, but you can also use the old ambeo orbit version. The dear vr is a little better personally as it gives better directionality of sounds.

Any upmix is not even close to true 5.1. When creating a upmix file is called Ribbon manipulation that anyone can do with the right software, but it’s not true surround sound…
I made a recent version to it just a basic 5.1 still a basic upmix, not indeed true 5.1 since of course it's just an "upmix" version. Well for this, I just use phase cancellation method, basically just cancels any frequency in the center part or any frequency that is in mono, then keeping the side channels active, it is way more cleaner ruclips.net/video/tIS1Qr5vEDU/видео.html
@@seanrosal458 I had used a software once myself to make a upmix, what it does it manipulates the ribbons to simulate a 5.1 mix in flac formate but as hard I tried I couldn’t get it right. So I end up using a software called Dvd Audio extractor,what this does it extracts music from a true 5.1 music disc so I’m able to place each song in files in a hard drive, what this done was saved me a bundle of cash I’d buy a true surround sound disc say by pink Floyd I’d buy it extract the music and end up selling the disc later. I know have 300 albums.
@@joewatson3261 never heard of that ribbon manipulation thing, but I guess you're referring to Dolby Pro Logic II 5.1 upmix simulation, it's basically the same thing.

Great tutorial! I'm in the process of ripping my 3D Blurays to watch in SBS on my headset, which will be connected to a vacuum tube headphone amp for my studio monitor headphones and I've been trying to find a good method of downmixing the surround mixes to an effective binaural mix for them. Listening to your comparisons at the end of this video was a very surprising difference. Just one question though; where did you get the Dolby trailers from??
