You remove the bone as you eat the fish.
I have eaten the fish soup since I was small and just pick the fish meat off the bone. There aren't small irregular bones in this fish so picking the meat off is quite easy.
We just remove them as we eat the fish! As others have said, the kind of fish normally used for this soup doesn’t have a lot of small bones so they’re easily removed
Thanks everyone for replying. Actually, I live where seafood isn't common, and all the available types of fish have very small bones, making it difficult to eat.

are banh chung and banh tet same thing????? I know preparation for BOTH are labor intense. are there any differences between two other than it's shape and chung is from North and Tet is from Central and South.
Bánh chưng is only savory, with the mung bean and pork filling, whereas there are savory AND sweet bánh tét. The savory version is pretty much the same as bánh chưng, just different shape. The sweet version can have banana!

Does your garlic ever turn blue?
yea how do you prevent it from turning blue??
You have to make sure you choose REALLY well dried garlic. If the skin sticks to the cloves at all when you try to peel them, the garlic was not dried properly and will turn blue.

@@mmbonappetit Thank you for responding. Did you perfect your recipe? It looked pretty good in your video and lasted a few weeks before turning a little blue, which was a huge improvement from your first attempt. When you say dry, do you mean garlic that no longer has garlic juices on it from cutting the bottom off? I don't understand what you mean by dry garlic because I don't wash it after peeling it.
