i see a lot of areas you could increase or lower the polygon count. for example since not many people look inside the actual barrel you could remove 90% of the polygons inside it. great texture work. what software do you use for texturing?

Nice model! The box could hold a belt/chain type magazine. There is an antique gun that attempted to use such a magazine, it was called the Treeby chain gun. Take a look at that design.
