I have been fooling around with a Blessing that used to be AL Grey's bought it from Claud Black 15 or twenty years ago, the middle and high register is ok but the lower register is stuffy and not as open as a trombone, thanks for the info...

Just curious have you ever played or owned a coolwind tuba? I just bought one due to a back injury. If you ever get a chance you might want to get one for your collection of tubas.

I love the beautiful sounds exercise, but the true path to making a beautiful sound is long tones and lip slurs. The beautiful sounds flow study is the application of what you learn in the more fundamental exercises like Remingtons.

I don't know why everyone seems surprised by these! Drum and Bugle Corps have been using these for decades (as in DCI International). They are not new.

I just started playing the shoulder cannon, which is a tuba you put on the shoulders for marching. And it's much harder.

This piece is JUST GLORIOUS. Huge kudos. I can't imagine a low brass person in the world not wanting to dash out and find a flugabone after listening to this. Very, very cool.

Thanks so much for your video! And my condolences for the deaths of the tuba players that were your friends and teachers. I played E flat and Bb tuba in the 70's when women weren't doing it, so it's so gratifying to see you doing your thing. In 79' I saw an outdoor concert with Joni Mitchell doing Mingus, right after he died. She did "Chair in the Sky" while an electrical storm worked itself up overhead. Chain lightning in the clouds. She would do a phrase then the thunder would answer, another phrase, another roll of thunder that suspiciously sounded like Mingus. Just sayin'.
