A great looking rocket launcher vignette, nice painting and basing!
Many thanks!
Super cool, I'm working on speeder trucks and this is really inspirational. Appreciate your craftsmanship.
Great Model to paint! Enjoy
Great if they expand on this … would be cool. I’ll have to check em out 👍🏼
Agreed!
They have the colour party off centre and I like many other gamers just don’t like the look of it on table. I don’t think the big slabs of figures on a stand means I have to use black powder rules. I think that for 10mm figures you need a base width 3 figures say 15 to 20mm. At the moment the minimum size of a battalion in the rules is IIRC is 3 bases of 20 figures each, that’s 60 figures that’s between 500 and 600 men. I know it’s been explained away. In the rules. Soo!!! I don’t like paperwork to show only the player the state of the regiment as Wargamers often become careless and prone to lapses of memory. The advantage of small figures is to shrink the size of the table or increase the number of miles it represents. I would have bought in so to speak but an epic troop block is around 60mm long, as it happens the same size of a Baccus battalion .
@@leonleese4919 Good Points! I know that I have played Warlords Epic Waterloo range with the Valour & Fortitude rules by Perry Miniatures and its worked out decent.
Nicely done!
This is ace. Thanks!
These guys are great, splitting the one base is interesting. I’ve seen a few folks do that. Trying to gather good info before I glue and paint. Thank you !
By no means is it required but due to the size of table I have to play on, having a smaller unit means more units can fit on the table, and for a unit I end up painting less models in the end. Cheers!
Dude, they look great !!! Thx, inspiration….
Look cool, nice job…👍🏼
Look really good ! Thx.
Great job ! Got the starter box and 5 others … got to get started, geezzz haha. Thx.
takes time, but you got it!
This will be my first Napoleonic miniatures I will buy, this review is nice!!!
Thank you! Enjoy your models
You’ve done a cracking job on those mate they look the dogs!
Thank you!
Awesome
Now this is soldering
Very much enjoyed hearing and watching your V&F entry!!! I am in the process of doing the exact same with the Epic minis and looking forward to a couple learning games. Well Done and looking forward to more!!!!
Thank you, takes a few turns to get it down but it sure was a fun game
Thanks, I enjoyed the replay, also great to see the mix of painted and unpainted on the table - that’s what I do while the painting happens in the background.
Right on! The red and the blue makes it easier to help!
I use V&F with epic scale minis. Way easier to introduce for people new to the period.
Good combo as V&F does seem to require a larger force. Plus the fate cards are fun!
Great job - they all look amazing! Steve
Thank you for the kind words ! Cheers
Excellent work mate I like how you split your unit to form a square, they look impressive
Thank you for the kind words, Cheers!
Very nice, as are your dragoons.
They look great! What bases did you use for the half sizes, did you cut up the regular bases in half?
Nicely done. Some of the best Epic Waterloo painting work I've seen. Have you tried paint pens for the straps? I'm testing that out right now. I've also experimentad with a white dry brush and paint the red around the straps. I like the effect. Might just stick with that.
hi, I have never tried paint pens. I have seen it talked about a lot in painting videos and comment sections so id assume it works decent. Due to the fact I used oil/enamel wash over these(so all colors have a small tint to them), I use a off white paint and I find it covers better than just white acrylics.
Exactly the video I've been looking for. Thank you!
Cheers!
You have done an excellent job with the Epic Napoleonic range. Have you got these on the tabletop yet? If so, what ruleset are you using? I'm considering using 3 bases per battalion instead of 4 and running Valour & Fortitude
Got a team game of Valour & Fortitude in a few weeks. I think I will play pretty nice due to smaller table might cut the measurements in 1/2 or by 1/3
Unfortunately, the location and the attitude of the artillerists around the cannon are incorrect. This is frequently influenced by makers of tin soldiers that don’t understand what was the true artillery regulation of the time, giving inaccurate postures to their figures. No artillerist was kneeling, the rammer was never held in vertical position, etc. Regarding the location of the servants, they should stand on two lines, left and right, 20 inches away from the cannon. It is lighted from the right side, not from the left. Also, the officers’s epaulettes should be gold, not red.
Appreciate the feedback, I will need to add the Gold to the officer's epaulettes, good catch on that one. Certainly Warlord Games took some historical liberties making these scale figures playable for this epic scale! Thanks for stopping by , Cheers.
@@6uptabletopgaming546 thank you for your appreciation of my comments, these were not for the purpose of criticizing but rather help you make something more accurate. By the way, the upper rim on the shako of the officer should be painted in gold too. And in case you prepare more of these gunnery scenes, think about placing the servant with the quick match on the right side, it is the opposite side as for the British regulation. In the French regulation, the servant to the left holds the pricker to pierce the cartridge inside the barrel and then he primes the vent.
@@patrickehresmann2404 the more accurate the better!~
Excellent idea for the horse artillery! I’ll do the same, thanks for the tip
I am wondering. The French had switched to the metric system before the full on Napoleonic era. Is it correct to call these weapons by the weight of shot in pounds or does the book do that? As an interesting side note, the imperial weights and measures were not standard across the board. 1lb as a British measure, an Austrian measure and a Russian measure were all actually different weights despite the description being the same, i.e. 6lbs was the lightest as a British measurement and the heaviest as an Austrian measurement and would be different again if indeed the French used the descriptor lbs. Either way, the French 12 pounders would be formidable to stand against.
Hi, Great question, I'm going off the black powder epic rules book mention of the "Year XI system" which streamlined the Artillery system for the French. Interesting side note indeed, thanks for sharing, always glad to learn more about such an interesting time period in history. Cheers
Yes, it is still correct to call the French cannons by the weight of shots in pounds (actually, in French livres, that were slightly heavier than the British pounds), while the mortars and howitzers were called by the diameter of their muzzle in pouces (slightly longer than the British inches). Although the metric system was introduced during the Revolution, it took a long time for the French people to use it in every day’s life. The artillery dimension tables started to use the metric system during the first empire, but the way to call French cannons in the older system remained for a much longer time, until the mid-19th century. The first cannon to be called by its diameter in metric was the piece rayée de 4 modele 1858, système Ducos de la Hitte, its diameter measuring 4cm.
Excellent!!
Many thanks!
beautifully done.
Thank you! Cheers!
Superb artillery, well done!👍👍
Thank you!
Superb stuff
Thank you!
Great work!
Superb looking unit, cracking job...and new sub!
Thank you for the kind words! Cheers
Excellent!!
Those look great. Well done!
They really do look great! Thnx for sharing
Really well painted, especially since the epic cavalry have almost no details at all from the front and the back
thank you! Make the most with what your given!
I’m so glad your covering this epic stuff it’s rare on youtube. Keep at it
Perfect scale for me, more to come!
First class lancers, congrats from France!
Hi again Josh! Do you mind if I asked what you used to flock your bases?
sure! Vallejo Earth Texture (Dark Earth) then Army painter Tuffs, and then Woodland Scenics Blended Turf (Earth Blend)
Your paintjob is insane damn 😮😂 Love to see some Epic Waterloo content 👍 Im trying to continue the job on my armies and this kind of content makes me want to get back to work 🫡
appreciate it! you got this! one unit at a time, no rush
Funny I found your channel the other day looking for inspiration for emperor’s children painting and here you are again posting about using epic black powder for valour and fortitude. Another project I have on my desk right now. Are you basing the battalions on the bases they come with in the epic blackpowder box? I saw a few people split the infantry lines in half and mount on 30x20mm bases to decrease the footprint of each battalion.
Thank for the comment, and still love me some 30k! I am making each battalion to have 3 bases and using the ones in the warlord box. I cut the 3rd base in half (alongside the models of that base) so that infantry can form square as needed, and units can change formations as needed. Cheers!
Wow !! Beutifull painting job.The most iconic british troops ever.
Thank you, yes indeed a most iconic troop!
Wow, most impressive work!!👍👍
Well done!
Brilliant job on them well done brilliant 🤠🤠🤠
