I see what you’re saying about the German lyrics, but for me it adds to the charm and mystery of Noise. Interesting topic, too! I think I’ll give my takes in another video. Depends on the album for me, but I think a new album takes at least 5 listens to really gain a fully formed opinion on. Others, more than that. 'Foreskin pink'! 🤣🤣🤣 You certainly have a way with words, Beastie Boy! 😂 I've still not got my ears around the new Carnal Savagery or Undeath, but, as you say, I know what to expect! I'll be picking both up in due course. I've not listened to that Kanonenfieber either, but I've heard very good things. Blood Incantation, though? All I can say is 'WOW'. Mind-blowingly brilliant! Excellent update Sean. Ive streamed the Undeath on Spotify 3 times and ill definitely be picking it up. I do however absolutely loathe the colour of that vinyl. Blood Incantation will be getting picked up soon as they're great. I'm intrigued to check out Carnal Savergery. Sometimes albums click with me straight away and some need more listening, the latter day Maiden albums for example. Congratulations on hitting 400 subs mate. Cheers

It always takes me a few listens of a record to really feel like I can form a proper opinion on it. ‘Carnal Savagery’ must be the most prolific band in Death Metal when it comes to releasing new music… unbelievable. Music for me is usually the first listen, if it clicks then it clicks. Sometimes i'll spend time and grow to like an album, but if it doesn't click instantly I don't usually bother. Undeath is on the hit list as I enjoyed the previous one. Wish I bough they debut from Kanonenfieber when I should have as now it's not cheap! Typical haha! Awesome video mate, love that your channel is growing. You deserve it!

Cool to see all the bands represented with physical media! £25 is insane, hopefully I'll make it up one of the years as I can't make it with my current situation. Foreskin pink?!? Someone needs to see a doctor! :D Anyhow, I do like a good first impressions video such as this one. For me, it differs from release to release how lomg time it takes for me to get into it. Some click with me immediately and some take longer to get into. I can usually tell immediately, though, if it's a release I'll probably never get into. In most cases where I'm not too keen on a release upon first listen, I put it aside and listen to it again later, because there's a good chance I'll grow to appreciate it eventually, but the ones I know I'll never get into are moved on immediately so someone else can enjoy them. Regarding what I like about music, that also differs from case to case. For instance, with Dream Theater and Rush, I really like the changes and odd time signatures and all that (and of course the drumming), but with, say, AC/DC it's the energy, the raw guitar playing, and the catchy riffs. In some cases, it's the full picture that draws me in, and, in others, I notice some details that fascinate me or that I just like for some reason (like Lovebites' drummer's use of accentuations on the ride cymbals or pretty much every single guitar solo played by Adrian Smith). Of course there are certain things that I'm a sucker for, like twin guitar harmonies, which will easily win me over. Some people enjoy music on a more cerebral level, others on a more visceral level, and others on both levels. I don't think there's a correct way to enjoy music. I think we should all have the freedom to enjoy music however we want, elitists and gatekeepers be damned.

First off that’s a thumbs up for the Rotpit shirt 😉 carnal savagery are savage! Yet to pick up that! And that Kanonfieber latest record deffo end of year list material son! 90% percent of stuff i listen to resonates because as you know it’s all Swedish hm2 death metal the other 10% I will Have 2-3 listens tops if it don’t resonate it’s sacked off bit like blood incantation 😝 it’s a band I just can’t get into but I did try. Great stuff and massive congrats on surpassing 400 suns mate 😉🤘🏻

Hi Sean, enjoyed the video as always. Further to the first impressions topic, i find it depends on the genre or style, for example old school death metal, i find i know almost instantly if i'm adding it my collection, however some of the black metal (sub-categories) can take me quite a few listens, i guess it depends on how experimental the bands are and how open-minded you are too enjoying something different or outside of your normal listening choices.

Cool new pickups Sean! I've heard of Carnal Savagery but never listened to them. Undeath are a band I was going to check out when their last album came out, and I didn't haha! So maybe I should this time around. I've heard some interesting things about that Blood Incantation, someone called it if Pink Floyd made a Death Metal album. I think what puts me off it all the synth and ambient passages throughout the album. I saw a review for that Kanonenfeiber, it certainly sounds interesting! Nice one 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Good one Sean. Carnal Savagery are very solid. Never been a big fan of Undeath, they have been able to capture me. But seeing them live might be the trick. I mean there's nothing wrong with what they do, but sometimes it just doesn't click. Sooo on the fence regarding the new Blood Incantation, the DM is ace, but the other stuff gets a bit boring, I'm not a big fan of ambient stuff. Cheers. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

The Undeath album was one I was looking forward to. It's got those guitar riffs I like from them and the music overall is decent but for me the vocals have a certain something I don't like. Maybe a slight whisper mixed in or something.

The Undeath is already on the list simply because they have gained my confidence. The Blood Incantation will take a listen before I hunt it down due to the last release. Great job. I enjoy your descriptions

Nice update mate! Desultory rule they were a very underrated band that influenced lots of bands. Lucky enough to see them support cannibal corpse for the bleeding tour back in 94. Top stuff as always beastie lad 😉🤘🏻

FUCKIN 🤘👹💀👹🤘 The double barrel reasons that I appreciate you & your channel are that you're a METALHEAD that is in my age range and that you put me onto METAL that I don't know about. North Korea is referred to as "The hermit kingdom." Virtually nothing makes it in nor out. People, movies, music etc. I would argue that in a lot of ways here in America it's the same way in regards to entertainment. Land of the free and the home to heaps of garbage music, television and movies. There's a lot of great METAL being made around the world, but you would never know it here. Nothing from elsewhere really gets support and exposure. How can someone know about anything without having been made aware of it? Your channel rules because I'm being made aware of METAL that otherwise I wouldn't know about. While owning physical copies isn't likely, I can look it up on the interweb.
