Sorry, took your question too technical) Airplane mode automatically turns off all signals, including cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. But you can manually turn Wi-Fi back on without re-enabling cellular signals.

Bluetooth rules on board are similar to Wi-Fi rules. When you enable airplane mode, all signals, including cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, are turned off by default. Since Bluetooth operates at lower power and doesn’t connect to cell towers, it isn’t likely to interfere with avionics, nor does it use the same frequency bands as airplane instruments. So, why do some airlines still restrict Bluetooth? This is where FAA regulations come in. In their 2013 guidance on wireless devices, the FAA left it up to airlines to decide which devices might interfere with navigation or communication systems. This gives airlines room to interpret “interference” broadly, so even in cases where Bluetooth doesn’t pose a technical risk, some airlines may choose to restrict all wireless use on certain flights. So, always check the rules of the airline you’re flying with.
