I play for 2 hours in the evening. I have work and doing a degree.

I played for like 30 minutes the first time, got kinda bored after getting to ginso tree, forgot about it for a few months, came back to finish it and got infuriated at how incredibly tight the timing is on the end of every temple while also being somewhat rng dependent on how the enemies move and whether you’re actually forced to get hit (if you’re going for the light containers in ginso, specifically, bc don’t put them there if you are almost guaranteed to get hit and possibly die from it) or how much shit one shots you for no reason (like the lasers in sorrow’s pass, some of them are very hard to see until they trigger and going back 5 minutes for something I couldn’t really avoid and got brutally punished for is very aggravating. I feel like most of the community just loves it bc it isn’t their first play through anymore so they know where everything is/how to deal with everything. The endings of the temples still infuriates me and I guarantee when I eventually get there on my one life play through it’s gonna be a death at the end of ginso at least 10 times

14 doesn’t need commitment at all. Now FF11 did. You needed a whole year or more just to get a relic weapon back in the day.

If your caught up with each dlc launch then this game of all MMO’s requires the least amount of time for a good experience. If you wanna craft then it does feel like a commitment may be needed. If your starting an MMO fresh with little spare time, try World of Warcraft, I casually completed dragon flight and was ready for endgame far sooner than I thought I would of been as with WoW you don’t need to play through every dlc to get to endgame just one of your choosing ✌️💜

FFXIV is such a casual MMO, by contrast to the long history of MMORPG's. Don't try to say the game requires a crazy level of commitment. Just say it's too much for YOU. Projecting personal bias onto others is just dumb.
