Real time train journey | Ourimbah to Morisset all stops | Slow TV
Turn on captions for some commentary & random facts! (Current permanent speeds are shown in the left hand corner for the more interested viewers).
Join us for a train cab view on the Central Coast (just north of Sydney) on an all stations stopping service between Ourimbah & Morisset. Despite being a 'slow' stopping service, the brisk acceleration of the OSCAR electric multiple unit is self evident. The train gets up to it's max service speed of 130kph in a few locations. This one of the few remaining areas around Sydney where trains have the opportunity to regularly operate up to their intended design speesd of 130kph+ (as the speeds were not lowered by the 2007 program of permanent speed ...

Real time train journey | Macarthur to Central via Sydenham Express | Slow TV

Turn on captions for some commentary & random facts! (Current permanent speeds are shown in the left hand corner for the more interested viewers.) Join us for a train cab view into the city of Sydney via one of the 'fastest' corridors... Unfortunately the service was unable to operate to max speed due to a preceding stopping train :(. The weather gets abit knarly around Revesby-Narwee but soon ...
would appreciate lithgow journey, tfnsw slow vids didn't go past katoomba. the scenery is quite pleasant through the mountains
Maybe you could give a link to an article with the reason why the NIF can't go 160km/h
As a suggestion, maybe you could add a speedometer so we know how fast the train can accelerate and brake. Also could you give a link to another video or article as to why Suburban train drivers have to stuck to blue? Also just wondering if a Waratah/Millenium went to Cardiff for maintenance does it stick to blue or white?
Top stuff. Better than my cab ride videos. 👍
This is awesome! I use this exact service sometimes for a trip towards Sydney.
How many signals down the line have to travel through before a signal goes from Stop to caution?
from caution there is one block gap between caution and stop, so it would go from preliminary medium - medium - caution - stop. however some signals may indicate a low speed aspect (red over red over green) which indicates you can pass this signal at low speed but expect the next signal to be an absolute stop.
Thank you for this video. I learned a few things about signalling from this video.
Will you ever do a video on Central to Kiama Cab View?
Great video, well done
I'm surprised you're only new. I'd say you definitely deserve to grow more with what you can cover on the NSW train network.
Many thanks, very informative. Just like learning the Road. Cheers from an old Railcar Driver.
Reminds me very much in terms of track layout to an entry into one of the big London terminals such as Euston or St Pancras from the north. Great journey... We'll maintained track, ballast and trackside compared to Europe.
Why doesn't this use the Illawarra Main, if it's express?
This is great, and I would love it If you gave us even more commentary along the journey, I have learnt so much from your First 2 Videos and could have enjoyed even more with more Info! The line I am absolutely dying to See and there has never been cab footage of is the XPT journey from Goulburn to Albury, there has been footage of Canberra to Goulburn to Central before but never beyond Goulburn. Of course I have done the trip as a passenger but never seen the Cab View!
Hi Tyler, I am planning to get some XPT footage in the near future near Albury.......fingers crossed
@@RailViewAus-i1o is the straight section of lines north of Albury 160kmh still? Or have they lowered it?
You really should have got someone to proofread your closed captions ....
haha yeah I wrote them in a rush.....i'm surprised anyone turns them on.
So why isn't the wiper blade clearing the rain?
This is like Sydney Trains Cab Videos back again with some slight changes! After seeing this video here, I knew I had to instantly subscribe. (As I was to Sydney Trains Cab Videos before the channel got removed) Also, is there a possibility of having a speedometer somewhere so we can see the train's speed?
I will try to find a camera that records instantaneous velocity, but I want high quality picture too!
@@RailViewAus-i1oOn your phone you ccna gera speedometer app so maybe you could screen record your phone while driving?
Thanks for making these available. However, I don't know when these were recorded, but the angle of the sun effects the video quality badly in conjunction with the windshield slant. If you have opportunity to record in the future, maybe try for when the sun is behind you to some degree, like behind your shoulder or even straight behind. Notice when you go under a bridge into shadow, the picture actually improves. Just a thought. Of course, timing in relation to the sun is not necessarily in your control...
happy to take any feedback into consideration!
I found your channel a few days ago and these videos are exceptional! It's a great video to watch whilst doing something else (at least it has been for me). Keep up the great work and I look forward to the future cab journeys! :)
Yeah especially now that Sydney Trains Cab Views doesn't exist anymore
@@shawnd-v1660Yeah and the videos aren’t coming back anytime soon.
@@shawnd-v1660 what happened to sydney trains cab videos
@@BossboyGaming I don't know, looking at their community page it just sounds like Sydney Trains had an issue with the videos. It also says there should be an answer this week or next
ive been on a melbourne train, they dont seem to exceed 80km/h except between Hoppers crossing and werribee
Melbourne is about 20 years behind ex-Railcorp/Sydney Trains tracks are, they still have vast swathes of track in timber sleepers......
You should have the video sped up
Oh nice, this is the one I was on. I remember we were delayed as always and then slowed even more because of the stopper. Lots of people had luggage
It's very unfortunate that this service is never allowed to overtake the stopping service using Platform 2 at Glenfield.
@@RailViewAus-i1o one time a while back now we did use platform 2 but ended up behind the stopper again because of a fault or something
@@RailViewAus-i1o Any thoughts on just finishing the quad tracking from Glenfield to Revesby, reinstating 160kmh running, extending electrification to Picton and bringing the Southern Highlands service into the InterCity family properly with a permanent terminus at Central, or is that overkill and they just need to find a way of enabling these trains to overtake the T8 stopping trains?
Very cool video :)
