I almost pulled the trigger on a Ferris last month. But that B&S engine turned me away pretty quick.
DO NOT BUY ANY KUBOTA PRODUCT I BOUGHT A NEW KUBOTA LX 4020 TRACTOR TO USE FOR A SNOW REMOVAL BUSINESS IN BRIAN HEAD, UT. I HAD TO PURCHASE FROM A DEALERSHIP IN COLORADO AS IT WAS THE ONLY KUBOTA DEALERSHIP WITHIN A 1000 MILE SEARCH TO HAVE THE TRACTOR I NEEDED FOR THE PURPOSE INTENDED. The Dealership, Wickham Tractor in Fort Collins, CO sold me the tractor and added Howes diesel treatment to the tank as well as selling me the remainder of the bottle to use to prevent the fuel from jelling. I Used as per specs. Tractor was purchased on 11/21/23 and I picked it up and transported it back to UT. Tractor was in operation for 17.2 hours before it would not start. Local Kubota dealerships said they would not come out to try to fix it as we did not buy it from them. Took it to Las Vegas, NV, as they were closest Kubota dealership, dropped off on 1/8/24 at 730 am. Kubota dealership said the fuel smelled funny so it wasn't covered under warranty and said $12000.00 plus to fix. The DPF was completely clogged and the only codes were low temp MAF sensor and no communication with EGR. Western area rep said there was no fuel to test because I drained it. This is a Lie. Had more than 6 gallons of fuel in it when i dropped it off. I have all the emails and correspondences and text messages, proving they denied coverage for adding a fuel additive. Sergio at Kubota customer service said, “When I put fuel in the tractor it voided warranty.” Apco, the Kubota dealership in Las Vegas, sent out the injectors for testing they came back as bad due to fuel contamination on 1/23/24. Kubota persisted in their point of me putting bad fuel in the Tractor. When I called the tester, I pressed about the fuel contamination. The person who did the test, said it was visible metal in the injectors that most likely came from the high pressure fuel pump. There was no metal in the fuel tank, fuel filter or fuel water separator. The dealership i bought the tractor from said they were the only ones that could help me at this point due to Kubota policy. Eddie at Wickham tractor told me I needed to bring the tractor back to them, 1367 miles round trip. and they would sell me a new one because I had broken this one. And would see about trying to fix the one I had already bought for a discount. I transported the tractor back to Greely, CO to Wickham on 1/18/24 they tested the fuel that was still in the filters and it came back as fine 2/8/24 so they were going to replace the entire engine. This could take between 3 to 9 months. My warranty coverage says all warranty work to be completed within 30 days. On 2/28/24 I found out there was internal Kubota Service Bulletin that came out to all the dealers the week before I bought the tractor stating the very problems my tractor was having. They knew this, and still denied coverage, and finally, when I presented this fraud to Kubota, on 3/7/24 Wickham tractor said they were going to replace the tractor with a new one, but wouldn't give me a timeline of when I would get a new one and I would have the expense of picking it up from them verses a local dealership. These delays have cost me my business and reputation to move snow I had to pay out my competitors and cancel and refund all my contracts. A service bulletin for this tractor was issued before I bought it stating this very problem. and it was to be fixed at Kubotas expense. They knew the problem existed, they tried to blame it on me for adding fuel supplement, they tried to coerce me into buying a new tractor on top of the broken one so i didn't lose my business. they refused to cover the cost of repair until i proved their fraud, and intent by pushing the narrative and then changing and deleting emails. I have all emails and correspondence showing the timeline, the fraud and intent.
Nice machine but i would recommend getting different engine like kawasaki. Briggs is a garbage company. Dont honor warranty and engines are not reliable

I have a new Toro lithium, it sucks, drive wheel falls/self-powers off in 2nd hour, battery shorts, and on-line Toro will not take it back. They do not take items back if you use it for 1 minute! Their rear left geared wheel unbolts itself from the bracket, it self destructs! Two others have the same problem. Their repair dealer literally told me "with Toro, its Buyer Beware". I have a Toro case number, a BBB case number, and a US Consumer Product Safety Commission case number. Save yourself and learn from my mistake, and stay away from Toro.
Why did you buy a battery powered machine?
@@rontopping7811Quiet...wish I had my Honda back...17 years, not one trouble! The wheels also come off Toro's gas mowers.
Thank you for the comparison, it's a great help. Seems pretty equal between them.
I have a 15 year old Ferris and it is very reliable and of solid construction. I am planning on buying a new one next year.
If the front goes down in the low ground, it’s going to cut the grass very low because of the two spring at the front
Nope. Thats not how it works. I own an ISX2200 which has the same suspension. That comment is from someone whom I’ll bet doesn’t own one.
I also own a ISX800 with same setup and has no problem scalping at all.
I’ve had the ISX 2200 61” with the Vanguard oil system. Absolutely Love it. The only thing I don’t like is the rediculous 30$ price for the Vanguard oil filter. I like the system and the concept, but 30$ for an oil filter is nothing but a ripoff in my book. I think they could have easily used an externally mounted spin on filter.
You probably spent over $13k for that mower and you’re complaining about spending $30 every 500 hours on an oil filter element? I like how I don’t have to get down on my hands and knees to screw a canister filter off of the side of the mower and then clean up the spilled oil that runs out. I don’t even need tools! Clever design if you ask me.
Need a 42 inch, but not buying a Briggs & Sratton piece of junk motor.
100% briggs is a garbage company.
I want something that rides like a Cadillac without breaking my back or scalping the grass. I currently have a JD Z-960 and it is a tank. Granted, It was overpriced in my opinion but I couldn’t ever foresee a time that I would break anything on it other than maybe a belt. The forks and spindles are solid cast iron. Pretty much most commercial mowers today with the exception of a few, will hold up to everything you put it through. As long as you have a good reliable engine and service it regularly, they will last a long time.
Give us a call at 731-882-1244. Ferris is known for its ride and durability. You won’t be disappointed
Good maintenance is the key to longevity. The ones with the Vanguard oil guard system claim You can go 500 hrs. I know it is a good system, but there is now way I’m going 500. I change it at 50 hrs before it even gets dark. I know it’s overkill but it makes me happy and the engine doesn’t complain.
People can't afford mowers to mow their flicking lawns they so expensive
They cost more than we used to pay for a good used car!!!
Finally got a ISX 800 with the Kawasaki, love it!
I'll stick with Exmark
That much money to cut grass and pollute the air, it better cut the grass all by itself without any human intervention. No wonder Americans are bankrupt. Not to mention sick and fat.
I want a White Seat, MY ASS GETS HOT !!!!
For crying out loud, get a lapel mic…
I have a 2018 ck3510 hse cab model. Absolutely love the thing and it’s been a real workhorse for us. In orange or bobcat white you can’t go wrong
Good video!
Thank you
I have the 3200z mower. It does ride very nice, the one issue I have is that it doesn’t cut the grass near as well as an Ex-mark. When I cut the grass it will not cut the grass at the same height where the tires run over the grass. Where the tires run over the grass and is pushed down the blades can’t suck the grass up enough to cut the grass, so I always have longer grass where the tires run over the grass. Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks
If your gonna rank decks it gonna go Exmark/Toro,Scag,Ferris. I don’t know about you but cut quality is key. Bad boy is on the come up as well.
I’ve had the 2200ISX for 3 years. No problem with leaving anything uncut or uneven. Couldn’t be happier.
Can’t hear what you’re saying for the background noise
Yes sir sorry about that. I noticed that too. It was really windy that day
Yeah poor video is ok. But poor audio is a real killer. Couldn't watch. Sorry. Maybe some Rode or DJI wireless mics to really step up that quality and fix that issue
Turn on captions.
Like john deere way over priced
There isn't a commercial zero turn less than 12-15k now!! You get what you pay for!!
Go get a residential at Lowe’s and see how that works out.
@brianw8963 it'll be back at Lowe's in 2 months. Then a 6-8 week wait time on repairs
@@hairstonpropertymanagement2937 Well, to be fair, and it probably has a bit to do with luck and more to do with maintenance and not abusing it, but- my wife bought a little JD Z335 7-8 years ago. We just use it for trimming and zig zag mowing around the trees etc. . It now has over 250 hrs on it and never had a single issue with it. But then again , I’m meticulous with maintenance never get aggressive with it. What I hate about this one and most box store zero turns is that You cannot service the hydros, which is critical for longevity. It can be done on the JD, but You have to REMOVE them to turn them upside down to drain them, which is a real pita to do. They easily could have put a drain plug on them. This is simply planned obsolescence in my book.
@@hairstonpropertymanagement2937Has a lot to do with maintenance and care. These box store machines are for light duty residential use. To be fair, my wife bought a JD 335 seven years ago, has over 250 hrs, and we never had a single issue with it. But, as with most of these, the hydros cannot be serviced which is critical for longevity. It can be done on the JD’s if you want to remove them to turn upside down to drain the oil but it is a pita. They easily could have made them with a drain plug. That is planned obsolescence in my book.
I’ve never heard of Ferris! I’ll have to look into that company
They are a great company. They have been making mowers for about 40 years
They’re actually owned by Briggs and Stratton. Great machines.
@@brianw8963 Other-way-around, B&S owns Ferris.

I’ll be glad to get you a price Tuesday when we return to work

VERY nice! 👍
I hear the phones ringing already.
What engine would you recommend/ choose on an isx 800 52" (2024) ?
Most go with the Kawasaki
i was looking at a diesel kubota wich more strong mowing power and shaft driven decks wich i like most plus it can run a snowblower and blade on front
Good video...but really need to work on better audio.
I bought a new white Kioti 40hp. I'm patiently waiting for it to arrive.
You ordered a white kioti I thought they only came in Orange color
Didn't say the package price
@@terrytate6006 Bobcat tractors are white, made by Kioti
I liked the part where they showed the belts, spindles , idlers deck build. All easy to get to and replace by owner, I'm sure.
Doesn't have a suspension on the mower cause the deck to raise and lower with bumps, causing scalping and uneven cut? Toro put the suspension on the rider, not the machine.
No sir it does not at all. They have a state of the art design that does not allow the deck to dip down at all when you hit bumps or have to slow down quickly. It was designed by a nascar engineer. We are also a toro dealer and the myride system on the toro is very nice as well but the Ferris will out ride it for sure. I explain that in the video
If you watch some ferris videos and see the metal control arms on sides by shocks it articulates the deck. It keeps it flat and floats. That plus the big casters help scalping. Same thing with ferris stand on mowers. But the rider with full suspension seat and coil overs front and back just floats like a Cadillac.
That’s fine but most of the affordable ones only offer Briggs engines.
@@robertspreitzer8126 they offer kawasaki as well
the kubota has a deck that floats up and down and shaft driven wich no lawn damaging plus has comfort air ride seat
You guy's need clip Mics, to much echo
I'm sure it's a good video, too bad i can't hear it
Are those Spartan mowers made by BadBoy😊
