    I have just gotten a sad lamp from a sleep clinic . It’s so bright and my doctor didn’t tell me how far or how to use it. Thanks so much for this explanation, I also find it hard to wake up so I think I might think of getting a sunlight lamp

    Thanks for the list! It's 3 am here and I tend to be one of those overthinkers and get really frustrated about not falling asleep. When in university I used to just try and read the most boring non-fiction book that I had at hand which was sometimes helpful. :D Only thing that doesn't seem to work for me is instrumental music, I've always found that it helps me studying and puts me into a more awake state. I guess for now I'll just go and do some sorting.

      I know what you mean! It can be tough when you're naturally an overthinker, but a big part of this is just about trying to find something that works for you (ideally outside of the bedroom!) and then trusting the process a bit.. Thanks for watching anyway, really appreciate it! :) more sleep and energy videos coming!

    So how do we use the SAD Lumie Lamp in the right way ? I am a bit confused in terms of best practice. Where can I find the info ? I basically have it on my desk for 30min in the morning 09:30 to 10:00 and in the evening from 16:30 to 17:00 I don't look directly at it it's about an arms lenght and I've just started using it (day 2) Am I doing it right ?

    • @IntelligentSleeper
      @IntelligentSleeper 7 месяцев назад

      Great question - generally speaking, SAD lamps are best used as a morning therapy. If you use bright light in the later afternoon/evening, your body's internal systems may start to get a bit 'confused' and still think it's the early part of the day. This may disrupt your sleep cycles. Otherwise it sounds like your using it ok.

    Bro: the NHS simply isn't there to help you - unless it befits Big Pharma, and THE best way to get good sleep is: learn an AUTHENTIC meditation technique - and USE it regularly. WARNING: Side effects may include: detoxification, diminished reliance on alcohol, diminished reliance on Social Media, diminished reliance on clingy tendencies, increased AVALIABLE time during any given day, more self confidence, a deeper natural knowing, lessening of long term aches and pains, increased capability for the body to heal itself 🙏

    • @IntelligentSleeper

      that's a good question. people often reach straight for medicines as the solution, but most people would benefit first from a good foundation of "sleep hygiene". the NHS and other official Sleep organisations provide some good information around this.

    Does having a cup of coffee in the morning or early afternoon affect our night-time sleep negatively? Or only if we have coffee/caffeine later in the day?

    • @IntelligentSleeper
      @IntelligentSleeper Год назад

      Great Q - caffeine is processed slightly differently between individuals but it typically has a half life of 5hrs or so, which means a quarter of the caffeine in a 10am coffee would still be in your system at 10pm. And so yes, even if you don’t feel the effects of it, it can still disrupt your sleep if you have it too late. “No caffeine past midday” tends to be a fairly sensible way to balance effects on sleep vs enjoying your morning cuppa.
