It's larger than WW2 aircraft carriers (the planes themselves were much simpler and smaller then) but is smaller than most modern aircraft carriers, but not by much. It's ability to carry and launch aircraft is hampered by all the hardware needed to support amphibious operations. For example Frances flagship is about the same size but can carry twice as many planes. It is also equipped with launch catapults which this ship does not have. So if Frances flagship was equipped with F35s it would be able to use the "C" variant which has alot more fuel than the "B" variant this ship uses. Lastly, in comparison to the USA's fleet of "Super Carriers" it is nothing. The Nimitz class, for example, can carry 130 fighter aircraft but usually carries around 64 fighter aircraft to make room for other aircraft. So a proper US aircraft carrier carries anywhere from 3 to 7 times the maximum number of fighters this ship can. True, however it can be configured as a "mini" aircraft carrier if needed. In that configuration it would carry 20 F35Bs plus support aircraft. Edit: In theory, two of these could match up against China's newest aircraft carrier with relatively even odds. And that is assuming China's carrier based fighter planes are an even match for F35Bs.

사실 엄밀히 말하면 전투기를 탑재한다는 면에서 동일하지만, 주 임무가 상륙작전인지(원정강습함), 항공모함 별도 작전인지(항공모함)로 구분합니다.

​​@@thisfloridianlife_briankim6956 The Korean Navy has the Dokdo Class Amphibious Assault Ship. It is slightly smaller and does not carry fighter planes (only helicopters etc). However, Wikipedia tells me it does technically have the capability to carry VTOL fighters. Im not sure if the F35B would be included as it is a STOVL rather than a true VTOL fighter plane.
