    Dr. Ostlie did my carinatum surgery in 2011 at childrens Mercy in kc. Any parents with concerns, Dr. Ostlie treated me and my family with the utmost care and respect he answered all our questions, and there were no stupid questions with him. Dr. ostlie went above and beyond in terms of care for me and my family, and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

    I think I have it but it's doesn't really hurt at all. I notice the click when I lean to the left or forward while I breath, also when I'm lying on my bed to the right side. Soo after about three years tonight I decided to kinda grab my rib and slip it forward intentionally, then I noticed I can't do it on my left side, maybe just a liiiiile bit, but not as much like the right side. Sorry for my bad English.

      @kartikeyrajpurohit 3 месяца назад

      Same with me, I started feeling it around 8 to 9 months ago... the click in my right hand side lower rib... it goes in ,comes out when i touch my feet and stand up again, also while laying on bed, a movement i feel in the right side lower rib like it slipping and coming back to position again, and also it doesn't hurting me right now... I told about it to my parents they started laughing on me and took me lightly... What type of doctor deal with this type of problem... Brother do you have any idea about specialist.

      She said that if you have clicking with no pain then its just slipping rib. It's only classified as slipping rib syndrome if you have pain. People live their whole lives with slipped ribs and never have pain associated with it. I think its something you just have to live with because nobody will do anything unless its causing you pain.

    Dr Lisa McMahon nice video but I have so many questions. do you always cut the tips ? Can you mix plates with the Hansen procedure on the tips ? Do you use cartilage as a spacer between the ribs to stop nerve compression? are you using absorbable plates ? Could I request permanent sternum plates? What is the downside to using permanent plates?

  • @JMeyer-qj1pv
    @JMeyer-qj1pv 2 года назад

    There's no mention of Hansen's repair technique here. He has a technique where he stabilizes the slipping rib with a simple figure eight suture to a neighboring rib, which stops the movement and irritation of the nerves. That seems like a much less invasive approach than removal of the cartilage or insertion of a plate.

    • @gustavotonnelli
      @gustavotonnelli 2 года назад

      It’s not only less invasive but it’s also more effective, it basically restores the “normal” anatomy of the ribs. I’ve been suffering from this condition for almost 6 years now and only recently I found out about Dr. Hansen’s approach. I literally cried watching his videos on RUclips and ever since then I’ve been hopeful that one day I’ll finally be able to get rid of this terrible pain.

    • @BrodeyDoverosx
      @BrodeyDoverosx 2 года назад

      @@gustavotonnelli I’m also on 6 years. It doesn’t help that I’ve also had compression injuries in my spine. The spasms are intense and absolutely refer up the back…all of your muscles will become facilitated to compensate for the instability.

    • @nicoo3057
      @nicoo3057 2 года назад

      @@gustavotonnelli the Hansen procedure pulls your ribs outward to ovoid the inter coastal nerve. Doing so creates pain in many patients in the form of back pain and spine pressure on your rib heads . It also creates stiffness in the sides of your ribs . His surgery just substitutes one pain for another and some people have minor new pain and others are bedridden afterwards!

    Please help me. I have been suffering from this for many decades, but all my doctors look at me as if I have 5 heads on my shoulders whenever I bring it up. Recently my GP told me to stop mentioning SRS since my X-Ray and MRI were unremarkable. I have been searching to find a doctor who would perform hooking maneuver since my GP doesn't do it. I also have been calling clinics and hospitals in my state who perform Dynamic flow ultrasound, so far none. I am in severe pain. Thanks in advance.

      Audiobook - I strained my torso somewhat about five days ago when trying to lift the corner of an armoire. I heard a pretty loud pop and felt a stabbing pain at my right rib cage. I still feel a stabbing when I bend my right side over such as by picking something off the floor with my right hand. Tomorrow I'm seeing a sports MD for X-rays. We'll see if it's a minor injury or not. Hopefully I haven't punctured the liver.

    I have found this doctor through doing some research on slipping rib . I have heard multiple stories of this woman helping woman with that and after dealing with severe slipping rib for four years now I am desperate to find a solution . Unfortunately I live in Canada , Have been to MUTIPLE Doctors , Osteopaths , Chiro and my husband is a message therapist, yoga exercising classes etc. The osteopath is costing me $120 every two weeks and although I get a day or two of relief it slips again and I am bed ridden for days . I have lost my left side feeling , sight , bad migraines . No doctor here in my city is willing to help me , the hospital has no clue what to do . I am a mother of a 11 year old amazing boy who has such potential in this world with his smarts and talents .. He needs his mother’s energy back . My family doctor prescribes me 40 Percocets each month more than enough to get me highly addicted which I refuse to take them for that reason . So when I do really have bad episodes and I take one for an emergency I get pain relief but I also then Throw up so hard I tear my stomach lining . I barely eat anymore as I’ve had stomach issues for years now because of this pain and loss of appetite . Please tell me Doctor , If the restrictions ease up , the vaccines start to work and travel is made easier . What are the chances you’d take on a patient from Canada who would save every last dime to get a flight there and hotel for recovery just to get my life back ? Have you ever done something such as that or if not what would be your next recommendation for me as my city is small here in Canada and the doctors have 0 knowledge about this . I have lost numerous jobs due to having to call in sick , for 10 years I managed and ran clubs and bars , worked my butt off and was proud of how I was such a strong worker , very active with friends and now even as disabled as I’ve been feeling I have still managed to push myself into taking care of my family . I am just so tired of not being able to sleep , going to do a photo shoot that I have such a passion for taking peoples photos but losing out on so many career opportunities because I can’t predict how my rib will feel a week from now a month from now . I know most people don’t understand but the fact that you do .. and can fix it .. if you say it’s possible I’ll show you hard hard I will work for it . And then I will continue to show you how strong and powerful I can be . Thank you for your time to anyone who read this . May you all be safe ❤️🇨🇦🥰❣️
