Only ever see people bashing this lens and telling folks to get something else. It's a good lens and perfectly usable. Use what you have, don't let anyone tell you that what you own isn't good or good enough. Mic I use - www.amazon.com/Deity-D4-Directional-Microphone-Smartphones/dp/B0BMQ4KPQZ/

Any chance this can squeeze in a 14” MacBook Pro? If not, they need to make one that’s *slightly* bigger!
Unfortunately no. I have a 13 and I can’t stuff that one in there
@ unfortunate…if they made an XL version that could fit a laptop comfortably it would be amazing!!
very excited for the travel vlog!!!
Me too! Excited for the travel and excited for the vlog haha
Great review and comparison! You definitely sold me on them.....just dont know which one to go with now lol.
Haha glad I could help! It's tough to choose but I think the Regular is the perfect balance of size and functionality
@thankyoumisterspell I think that's the one I'm gonna grab! Thanks again!
Nice Video man keep it up
Appreciate it 🙏
love the vibes of the vid man., how do you mount your camera on the car seat while driving?
Thanks for watching! That means a lot 🙏 For that shot I just used a SmallRig friction arm clamp. Comes in handy all the time.
@thankyoumisterspell where do you clip it?
I had it clamped on the passenger door handle
The external stereo microphone with the EM272 capsules is connected to the H1 input. "A couple of questions (I am a beginner...): 1) How the EM272 capsules get the Phantom Power? (It seems to be that the EM272 needs 5V) 2) If I am not wrong, the input of the H1 is just one channel (mono) so you lose the stereo signal. Is that right? I am thinking to connect several stereo mics (with the EM272 capsules) to the H6Essental but, as far as I know, each input only accepts the signal from one capsule (one channel/input). So, if I want to keep the stereo I need to use two inputs/(stereo mic)....
Hey there! Not sure about how the microphones receive phantom power, I don't think the H1n feeds phantom. They just work haha I do know, however, that if your microphones are stereo your recording will still be stereo. It's just one input, but if the microphone is threaded for stereo the H1n can receive stereo.
Dude that lens is great for the car shots you're right. I also just picked up a set of nightwalker lenses from Sirui myself, very excited to use them in the coming months!
I’m stoked about this lens, it’ll probably be my primary vlogging lens! The Sirui Nightwalkers are so sick 😩 now that I have the 24 I definitely want the rest haha You’re gonna love them!
you are absolutely correct with the pizza by the slice take
Thank you!! I don’t get why they don’t all do it
You have some cool shops over there! 😮
Some of these small towns in Texas are pretty fun!
@ will definitely visit some small towns if i’m running Houston marathon some year. Worth taking som extra days before or after 👌
is there a way you can lock the main compartment to make secure? planning to use this bag mainly for travel and will be putting a camera inside the main compartment
There's nothing on the bag that would help to lock the main compartment or make it more secure, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to figure it out. This has actually been my main camera bag since I got it. It works great for that.
Love the video man
Thanks for watching!
Zero calories in that monster you are save 💪 hang in there. cool gear stuff. Just sold two of my lenses kit lens & my 50mm. So the hunt begins for some new/used lenses to play with 😊 of course I’m here 😂 it’s the yongnou 11 mm f/1.8, 238 US dollar + 14 for shipping it’s a steal vs Sony’s 11mm that sits at around 500 $
Oh, well then Monster is back on the menu 😤 I couldn’t remember the name of your vlog lens while I was driving! That thing is a beast, and that’s such a great price. I have a feeling I’ll be buying and selling many lenses this year
Oh no, guess I need dehancer now aswell 😅
haha No you don’t need to! But if you do, i just get the mobile version. It’s a lot cheaper and does the same thing. I air drop a video file from my computer to my phone, give it some film grain and some other small details in Dehancer, and then upload it
@ thanks for the tip 👌
It’s so funny I have an iphone, ipad, apple watch, but I’ve never had a mac. Honestly pretty happy with the pc I managed to build. Still can’t believe I actually fucking did that sometimes lol. Anyway good luck on your productivity. I gotta work on staying focused when I go back to college in a few weeks.
I didn’t know much about computers before I built my PC. I still don’t know much about computers 😂 It served me well for years, but having everything in the Apple ecosystem is so nice. Good luck staying focused! Try to come up with some systems to help you succeed. Reminders, calendar events, timers, whatever it takes. You got this.
I got one myself. Have you noticed the strap itself feels bulky and made of cardboard? It doesn't feel as well padded as I had hoped.
Been using it as my everyday bag since I got it, it definitely breaks in well. Nothing is going to feel great fresh out of the package imo
Good call on the mac mini! Love mine. Excited to see what you create this year.
Man, I love it so much already! I remember you telling me about yours and that was honestly a big motivator. Had a rough end of 2024, hoping to create lots of things this year ☺️
Waiting on mines to get delivered. Slow as molasses but I have a good feeling it will be well worth the wait. Been looking for a sling that can hold a two liters of water and some basic hiking gear. I’ll throw up a review when it comes in if I like it
I’m really enjoying this bag, and I actually think it’s going to become my primary camera bag. Would love to see them release a padded camera cube sized to slot into the main compartment. Don’t think it’ll happen, but it would be cool. Looking forward to your review!
hey man great video ✨.. i actually have the same kinda combo since i bought this one and i get a lotta noise when shooting video on a proper daylight.. what would be u suggest on looking out for? or are there any setting i might have ignored!? I'm sorry for flooding u w questions man, but did u shoot this on auto or m/ slog3?
Hey hey! Glad you enjoyed the video, always happy to answer questions! Noise in daylight is interesting. Typically you only get “noise” at night time, when the image looks all grainy in the darkest spots. If you want a clearer video or photo in day time make sure your aperture is up around f16, or higher than that if you can, and you want your ISO to be low. I shoot at 24 FPS with my shutter speed locked at 1/50. I have ISO set to auto, and I adjust the aperture manually. I recommend turning on the zebra stripes - this will show you what parts of your image are overexposed or “blown out.” You want to make sure everything is exposed properly for a clean video or photo. I shoot in slog3 cine, I’m trying to learn how to get better at color grading. It has been fun ☺️
Add one more not apple fan boy, sitting here watching the vlog on my MacBook Pro, setting reminders on my iPhone so I can tick them off from my iPad :D Don't have my Apple Watch, rocking Garmin for my running. fun vlog, keep them up. Inspiring me to take my A6700 for some daily stuff. I just need to take my courage to get infront of the camera, feels awkward to speak English in public when everyone speaks Swedish around me 🤣 But I'm learning more by doing, so why not just get out there 😃
haha it’s hard not to seem like a fanboy when every device I own is Apple 😂 Your English is great! For me I just try to think about the fact that I’m the only one who thinks I look silly. If people are looking or watching, they know what you’re doing and they probably don’t care. Like I said in the video, I have to stay out of my head in order to move forward and keep going. I’m the only one getting in my way
@ yes, just do it! And thank you ☺️
I got a body only with a spare budget for a Viltrox 35mm F1.7, 55mm F1.7 & nextweek (hopefully) a Samyang 12mm F2. I lied, I overbudget 😢 Have spare company ZVE10 MK1 kit lens to play around with, it's versatile, but it's base 3.5 apperture stopped me from using it in a lot of low light situations for mainly videos. Picture are okok.
Sounds like you’ve got a great variety of lenses to play with! I have the kit lens, the Sigma 16mm 1.4, and then I have a Sigma 10-18 2.8 on the way for extra wide angle videos and photos.
Exactly what I wanted to see 😃 I have one 11mm 1.8 lens, kit lens and 50mm 1.8. I have looking att the sigma 16mm for more talking head stuff. So hope to see more from you 😊
Hey hey! So glad it was helpful! Got lots more coming with the a6700 this year
Pretty funny review. I just ordered one. I like that the water bottle pocket tells folks, "It's not a murse, it's a water bottle holder".
haha Thank you! I feel like the crossbody style makes it lean more towards a backpack hybrid, but the bottle holder helps for sure!
I wish it was not specific to right/left shoulder. I like to switch it around when traveling/sight seeing trip and switch it over to the other side when my shoulder gets tired! Otherwise looks perfect/
I totally get that, switching sides is a must for a longer day out!
I'm loving your style
Thank you so much, glad you enjoy it! 🙏
This is a great bag from Alpaka but it lacks pockets in the main compartment.
I've seen a few people say that! I actually feel like adding too much organization in this bag would take away from the things that it would be good at, such as storing a windbreaker or a camera like I showed in this video. ALPAKA has several other bags with pockets and organization options. For this Crossbody you could even use one of their smaller pouches and toss that inside this bag if you needed to carry certain things and not have them go all over the place.
The card holder on the front is kinda game changing tbh
It’s an awesome feature with many uses, as you can see! haha
Been wanting to see a review that tests this out as a camera bag so thank you for this!! Any chance you tested the jacket and camera like you did in the video and also tried to see if you still have space for the water bottle? Thanks!
As soon as I saw it my first thought was CAMERA BAG haha I’ll have a more dedicated camera bag video coming soon! As for the camera+jacket+water bottle combo, I think a smaller camera body and a small prime lens would work but it would be a tight squeeze for a full frame camera plus a jacket plus a water bottle.
appreciate it! really love the quick access pocket on the strap too. seems like a great bag
Nice to see you like it. I got the left shoulder configuration too and unfortunately I had to start an exchange for the other shoulder because it caused me alot of pain. Don’t think it was because of the bag itself. I guess I’m cursed to be a righty in both my hands and shoulder. 🙂↕️
I chose the left shoulder option because slinging the bag around to access the main compartment that way made the most sense in my head. But it’s funny because now that you say that it probably has a lot to do with the fact that I had surgery on my right shoulder a couple years ago. Can’t really remember how I would’ve worn a bag like this before then, but I really only started wearing bags about two years ago. Sorry to hear about your pain, I hope they can get the exchange done smoothly for you!
@ Thx, I already got it started. Knowing Alpaka it’s probably gonna take awhile which sucks but oh well, can’t be helped. Least I can still use my Go-Sling. Got a small heroclip and I can use that to clip a water bottle at least. I probably need some surgery on my left shoulder for all I know, but better just stick to using my better one as a cheaper solution. 😁 I like your short reviews. I prefer making longer unedited ones so my partner can have them as comforting background noise. Also I just hate listening to myself over and over.
I have probably watched every single Alpaka review on RUclips, and yours are by far my favorite. I love real people, doing real reviews. Keep it up! Hip.. hip… hooray!
Thanks for the support! I'm glad my reviews are hitting the mark!
I love that it’s a lighter weight bag. Just wish it could fit a bigger ipad. Crossing my fingers they make one more bigger version.
It being lightweight is one of my favorite things about the bag! A 3L version to fit larger electronic devices would be neat
I got the Max, and now I will have to remind myself to not put buttered toast into it. Thanks for the info and the laughs!
I assume no responsibility for any butter-related product defects 😶
Great video. I am considering this between the mini and the regular version. Also was looking at the flight sling. the main reason would be for travel - carry on, small backpack and then a small bag like this for my trip. Things like passport, wallet, AirPods, cable, battery bank, maybe my go pro. Essentially something discrete that I might be able to sneak on the plane or pack it in my backpack and pull it out when on the plane. One question I have is that I have been considering the AirPods pro max would they fit in the regular size version? or do you have another suggestion?
Thanks for watching! I don’t have a pair of Air Pods Max so I can’t say for sure, but their marketing images show a pair of headphones fitting in the Flight Sling 2L and the Tech Case Max. Again, I can’t say for sure, they look to be Bose headphones and I’m not sure if they fold differently compared to the Air Pods.
I carry a bravo sling max no problem at all so the tech case max won't be any problem for sure because the back sling max is ten liters😁
Need to get my hands on one of those Bravos 😩
What costs more the vertex or the tech case max?
The Vertex is just a bit more expensive at $105 for Axoflux/$119 for Xpac, and the Max is $79 for Axoflux/$92 for Xpac.
I don't want to get the mini because I know ill be kicking myself for not getting the max.
The Max is fantastic, I personally just don’t carry enough stuff to use it all the time
Great review man! I’ve been looking at this bag for a little bit now and I think I’m sold! Don’t carry a lot of stuff, but like you I don’t want it all in my pockets!
Really appreciate you watching! Glad you dig the bag, it’s one of my favorites! Gotta keep those pockets free haha
I appreciate the quick and realistic looks at different Alpaka products. I am a big fan of what they do and hope they continue working with you. Maybe they can send you one of the new Flow Satchel bags they have on kickstarter so you can do a review of it. Either way, thanks for these videos!
Thanks for watching, and thanks for the kind words! I backed the Flow Satchel on Kickstarter so if they send it my way or not, that video is definitely coming!
Thank you! Great video. I'll be purchasing one one. God bless! Be safe! 🤙🪖👮🙏🇺🇸
Love your chilled approach to these videos. Not wanky and self-important, just honest and light. Good insights and humour throughout. Keep going.
Appreciate you saying that! Trying to keep things chill and honest 😊
Will the max fit a sony a6400 without taking off the lense m
Depends on the lens but I would say probably not
@thankyoumisterspell that sucks but I kinda figured, thanks for answering appreciate it 🤜
Awesome review, thank you for comparing it to the vertex pouch and loading it in the backpack, was super helpful!
I know what I would want to see from a review so I’m glad you found it helpful!
I like how to the point this video was. Subbed.
Glad you liked it! Thanks for stopping by 🙏
Off screen height correction was a nice touch!
She couldn’t let it slide 😂
Thank you for the most normal and helpful packing video on this website lmao. If you have a minute, would you mind sharing the internal dimensions of the main compartment? Trying to decide if it's worth taking the plunge on this during their sale. How do you like the padding for longer carry? Heard some complaints of it digging in after a bit. Thanks in advance!
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video, and found it helpful! Absolutely. The dimensions I’m getting are 19” tall. The backpack tapers a bit, it’s 9” at the base and 11.5” at the top. And then a depth of 5”
@@thankyoumisterspell much appreciated, man, thanks! Ordered one with the hope that it will work as a one bag for 10-12 days and as a (big) EDC while traveling, too. Hopefully the loadout fits!
The hub clip was free with preorders. I fold the hood back and it makes it much more accessible. Fold it back over if it rains . Good bag, but some very obvious improvements needed for v2.
Guess I missed that preorder bonus somehow! Glad I got it, I wasn’t sure about the Hub stuff before and probably wouldn’t have bought any of it. Now that I’ve had the clip, I love the system. Yeah, folding the hood back definitely makes it easier! I’ll be posting a follow-up to this video soon now that I’ve had some time with the bag.
Need more likes, for sure.
OOooh Mr. Money Bags with 4 whole dollars!
hardest flex I can muster 😤
RETURN IT THAT RIP IS UNACCEPTABLE
Alpaka’s customer service was incredibly helpful and they sent me a replacement ☺️
@ good to hear man 👍🏻
You are clearly a massive fan #notanad
This one was #notanad but there are some gifted items coming soon!
Can you please post the link for this bag. Also great review, very in depth :)
Added the link to the description! Thanks for watching! ☺️
