i always find things like this interesting but have never tied myself.
haha it happens to all of us when we cant remember anything.
Missed it😢 this your first time live Ben?
I did a handful of lives this summer but it's been about 5 months.
@ ok I don’t remember these. I’ll keep an eye out for the next one 🤘🏻
I feel your frustration with the phone. They shouldn't be labeled as "smart" phones anymore. Thanks for the update on stuff though!
Thanks for watching!
Sorry I missed your live. I understand the phone storage thing as I do all my video and editing on my phone. Wanted to show my support and drop a 👍 Your tanks are nice and heavily planted
Thanks for the support, I appreciate it
Hey Ben. Watching re play
Thanks for stopping by!
I like mystery snails but they eat my pilo moss ha ha ha but they are vary easy to Bread !
Need to try some, I've heard conflicting reports about their survival in unheated tanks. Mine rarely go above 70.
Do the blue berry snails eat moss alot ?
I don't have moss in any of the blueberries tanks, I used to but the scuds have eaten it all. They really like biofilm though.
Just the video I needed to see the bubble size. Order placed!
Now a couple months later still functioning perfectly! Hope they work as well for you as they do for me
I have to try that one time .. as long as my wife doesn't see it
Cool
Thank you!
I had pea puffers for a couple of years and they are a joy. But the hardest part was keeping up with their diet. It's awesome how you manage to keep them like this. A beautiful natural aquarium.
Thank you, hopefully this idea works for you if you try peas again. I just bought 6 more yesterday to add to the tank.
@LakeMissoulaAquaticsandPlants Awesome! I bet it was fun introducing them to the tank. I love how they all have their own personalities. I may go back to them in the future. But for right now, I am in love with my goldfish. They are truly like water puppies 😃
How did you start the green water?
The tank was getting overgrown with guppy grass. I ripped handfuls up and it made the water murky. Within a week the water was yellow green. Tank is in a east facing window with a grow light on top. I feed the guppies at least 6 times a day. They produced the nutrition for the greenwater. The 20 gallon does best with 200-400 fish. Ammonia, nitrite and nitrates rarely ever register in water tests as long as it gets enough light to convert the waste to more greenwater.
I stupidly let mine crash but great starter fry food 👍👍
🍻
Nice ha ha 💪🏻
Thanks!
To collect the vinegar eels. Use a empty corona bottle. Fill from your main culture to where the neck starts and then stuff couple cotton balls down to where it's touching the vinegar. Then full with clean water . Eels will go though cotton and you can you a pipette to remove them to feed . Really easy. Also you can use sugar instead of apple for food
Never had an assassin snail but thinking of getting a few
They never seemed to put a dent in my snail population but a neet addition to the tank
Nice
Thanks!
That is one tiny angry mob
Yeah, they were quite offended that I sat down before feeding them. 😁
Dear Ben: I’ve been culturing vinegar eels, for several years. Last year, during warm weather, I kept my cultures, in my crawlspace, where they expired, due to mold. I had to acquire more vinegar eels, from a friend (to whom I gave vinegar eels). Now that I keep my, vinegar eel cultures, in my, weight room closet, fewer expire, due to mold. I keep my cultures in glass, jelly jars, with coffee filters, held in place, with rubber bands. I believe I’ll try to sort something with lids, like the Mason jar you are using. If I can’t find Mason jars, I may poke holes, in regular lids and use such, to hold coffee filters, in pace. I may also use filter floss, to plug the neck, of a bottle, for a back-up culture. When I feed vinegar eels, to my fry, I use a turkey baster, to suck up the vinegar, and then strain it, through a coffee filter, sitting in a cone. I add some tap water, to rinse most of the vinegar, off the eels. Then I dip the coffee filter, in the aquarium. It might be easier, to use a toothbrush, as you demonstrated. Thank you, for sharing this, informative video. All my best, Sincerely, E. J. Brinegar
Thanks for the tips, and thanks for watching!
Those are fun
Thank you, hope his business venture is successful! Thanks for watching!
Those are pretty awesome.
Thanks, hope they do well for him.
I got mine from Stephen giveaway 😊
Which series did you get?
I haven't opened it yet 😅
I really need to get into more live foods 😩
I am starting to think selling cultures may be more lucrative than fish. Hope all is going well for you and your family
Kyle is the bomb!!!!
Yeah, a solid dude
Now you just need a proper armchair 😅
Haha 😆
Love it! Glad you finally got them
Most anticipated unboxing in a couple months!
Heyyyy you got them!! I'm very happy. Thank you much Ben!
Thank you for creating such an exciting product, looking forward to future series!
Hey Ben, vinager eels ?Have not heard of them. How do you start the culture.
It comes as a liquid sealed in air tight containers or bags, pour into 50% aged water, 50% ACV, add chunks of organic apples. Mine did well right away. This is part 6 in my vinegar eel series.
@ thanks. Interesting stuff
Never tried vinegar eels. Looks interesting !
It's great when baby brine shrimp are too big for your fry. They also disperse in a ring around the top of the tank, same place many fry hang out. Also lives for weeks, so they don't dirty the water.
i think Kyle really struck gold with the stickers
Thanks man just did my first run with the cricut so now I'm automated too. Die cut stickers, and so much more possible now.
Completely agree 💯
Hello Ben. That is awesome. Three time I attempted to keep them , eventually disappeared. They are so cool
Aww they are so small and cute!
Thank you!
Very nice update 👍👍👍
Thank you!
I'll have to pay attention to my green water bucket see if starts to crash now that it's my fishroom
Happy New Year! im glad your blueberries are doing good!
Thank you!
Happy New Year!
Thank you
I’m glad the snails are breeding for you! Did you ever get confirmation on them ?
Yes, originally I reached out to Moonlight Aquatics, took a couple months to hear back, they claim they are the Blueberry subspecies. They have been importing them from Garenelio. I reached out to Garenelio, they claim their snails have been captive bred for about a year and that they haven't experienced any contaminants. They claim the only sustainably caught snails and that any other source that came after them have almost destroyed the natural ecosystem by inialating the wild snails. I asked if I could send them a picture, they declined and asked me to compare what I have to the pictures on their site. He (Kevin) also noted their pictures are taken under multiple light spectrums to show how they look under a variety of lighting conditions. I'll have to keep an eye on them as they grow just to make sure they are not the giant blueberry snails but based on the size of the adults I received they are most likely the standard blueberry's.
@ that’s good to hear Ben! Again I’m glad they’re doing well for you
Nice update Ben! How many blueberry snails did you start with?
I started with 8. Four in that tank and four in a second tank. I've only noticed 1 baby in the other tank.
@LakeMissoulaAquaticsandPlants Very awesome! I should have some arriving either this week or next week. I'm excited! How long have you had the snails?
About 4 months now. Unfortunately all the adults hide in the substrate. Once I have established enough baby's, I'll probably rake through the substrate and try to get an inventory of surviving adults.
@@LakeMissoulaAquaticsandPlants oh wow, i didn't know they did that. I'll have to keep an eye on that.
I am glad your tanks and you are doing well 😊 ☺️
Thanks for watching, should have more updates coming!
now thats a heavily planted tank.
are the blue berry snails blue? cant tell because of lighting.
Yeah, blueberry snails, too small to pick up color with my phone camera. Thanks for watching Gabriel!
Happy New Year 🎉
Thank you, Happy New Year to you as well!🎊
