      @@malikfaaiz7018 a turkey egg takes 28 days to hatch. This was filmed about 10 days before hatch date so around Day 18😁

      @@judybrunet6615 nope we sold them before moving from FL to Maine. We Don't currently raise any livestock here besides meat birds in the summer. If you want this specific breed and can't find them anywhere I'd recommend waiting till it's warmer and ordering chicks online when they can ship them😁 there are many websites and companies out there.

    Careful with the ghost peppers. They are the OG superhot. Several times hotter then the average habanero.

    I live in Gainesville and it’s January 6. I still have green papaya on the tree without any signs of ripening. It’s supposed to get down in the 20s this week. What do you recommend?

      @@lauriemitchell7835 there's not much unfortunately. You can try wrapping them up in a blanket if your trees aren't too tall. Ours used to get super tall so that wasn't really an option. Only other thing is to go ahead and pick them and be prepared to make some recipes with green papaya😋 You can try and let them ripen on the counter but in my experience they usually just rot when picked too green.

    I'm in NH zone 5a. I just received my 3rd order from MIGardener this year. I had one order of garlic and 2 orders of veggie and flower seeds. I always have good luck with his seeds.

    Porcupines will also mess with fruit trees. They destroyed our crabapple tree.

      @@debbiemower could be, I assume it was deer because we have such a heavy deer population here & see them all times of day. They knocked over the cages around some of the trees and ate off the leaves. But I think they'll bounce back in spring since they didn't eat or damage the actual stems🤞

Out of them all, the three that didn't work out were the carnations, strawflower and cilantro. They all germinated but sort of disappeared in the garden after transplanting. This will be only our 2nd yr gardening in Maine so we will see how it goes🤞🤞

      @@ourvisionfarm2893 I wish you luck with the second year of Maine gardening! I imagine it is similar to my PNW Gardening, so feel free to reach out to me on Insta or FB. I had mixed results with the MI Gardener sunflowers. The Teddy Bears took forever and barely reached a foot time. I had some others in the same soil reach 12' from a different brand. The mixed sunflower seeds were great and fun!

      @@alejandrocabrera3380 We order chicks online all the time, usually it goes very well, only a couple times we've received a couple dead ones in the box but for the most part we've had great experiences! Usually I search for the most affordable prices, I don't have a favorite website.

      @alejandrocabrera3380 usually it depends on their next hatch date available. Once the company updates you that they have shipped it will take from 2-3 days depending how far they are traveling. We just use chick starter , the one you got is fine. I like to use unmedicated but what you got is fine to get them started ☺️

      @@ourvisionfarm2893 thankbyou again for the quick response and sharing your experience. I did buy the medicated one because on the chicks description it was recommended to avoid a type of disease that I cant remember now. If not I wouldn't buy any medicated food. Thank you again.

      @@debbiemower I made this video a couple yrs ago on how to make a white chocolate unicorn themed one! basically the same steps but I use a smaller silicone mold for Christmas ones, and I use Ghirardelli dark chocolate melting wafers, hot cocoa mix and white marshmallows inside instead of all the unicorn themed things.ruclips.net/video/ECnS7pAennc/видео.htmlsi=qgnJowsV4egt83d7

    Get used to the rocks. They'll get pushed up from the ground with the frost. Even so, a great garden is worth the rock picking!

      @@debbiemower good to know! I was wondering why it seemed like we have more rocks now than the first time we tilled this spot lol. Luckily we've only hit 1 very large one that we couldn't dig up, so it has been a great spot for the garden 😁

    I had White Rocks once, They laid well and got really nice sized(Meyer Hatchery). Of course, White Rocks are the foundation for many meat chickens(monstrosities). UPDATE: After much study, it seems, that the Delaware chicken was the broiler of the 40's until roughly 1960's. Perhaps a Delaware rooster over a White Rock hen will produce a serious meat bird...

      @@jaynagala5819 we are not sure actually. They were supposed to be "yellow petite watermelon" from true leaf market, but they turned out to be huge 25-30lb+ watermelons instead lol. They were yellow at least but I think there must have been a seed mixup somewhere.

      @@AngelPedralvez high protein game bird feed, it's been a while for us but I believe there is a chick starter crumble for game birds to start them on. If not you may need to crush up the regular game bird feed into smaller pieces ☺️

    I use saved coffee grounds on ant hills. Very effective. You have had a great first year's growth!

      We didn't notice any hills in the garden this yr but that's nice to know! Wish we would've tried that in FL, ants were definitely a problem in the gardens

      @@MarjorieMarriott-t3v I've only ever grown them from store bought papaya. When you get a really good sweet one save the seeds! The ripe ones on the tree are very soft with yellow skin,they almost fall off on their own when you touch them.

    I love your video I live in Florida and I have papayas also my papayas are huge The soil here is sand and I don’t fertilize is easy and they are delicious. Do you know you can use the green papaya I make what is called picadillos and use them on salads. Good job

    Have you ever made zucchini pickles? A friend used to make them for big occasions, like cookouts, and they were wonderful. We were never lucky with watermelons in a garden, so I'm a bit jealous.

      @@debbiemower I've made sweet pickles using yellow squash before! They were super good now that I remember, never tried with zucchini but I imagine they'd be just as good. And I have a recipe for zucchini relish saved too. Me too on the watermelon! We've tried many times in FL but they never hit it off so I am just counting the days till we can try one soon🤤

      Not sure if you're a coffee drinker but If you try watermelons again the only thing I have done with these is dump our used coffee grinds mixed with water on them about once a week. No idea if that helped but worth a try!
