    Commenting prior to watching and sure this will be talked about. Player trading has been clamitously bad for the past two years particularly. A colossal blunder was not backing van bronckhorst a little more in the summer after the europa league run, in whcih demonstated he was clearly a pretty capable manager (he was also the last Rangers manager to beat Celtic in a meaningful game). That summer they did actually do particularly well in sales making large profits on 2 or 3 players in addition to what was a pretty lucrative European run. Those players were replaced with bargain basement rubbish by and large. The next summerl they panicked and in a very haphazard way did back Beale and he frittered the cash on a selection of cabbages with either no talent, a terrible attitude or both (with the sole exception of Butland) and since then it's gone from bad to worse. I think they sold Cantwell, their most valuable player according to transfermarkt, for about a tenth of his value (again accordinging to transfermarkt) this summer and panic bought a replacement for almost ten times that in Bajrami and are now in the midst of a freefall. Despite Aberdeen's result today, I'm convicned that they'll split the old firm this year because I can't see Rangers coming back from this.

    Rangers are only 12 yrs old. Theyre trying to compete with the biggest club in Scotland straight away. Theyve been spending money before theyve earned it since 2012. Theyve been bankrolled by wealthy fans and now the wells are running dry. Rangers need to look at any other start up business and build up their business over time. As long as the fans stick their heads in the sand and think that this Rangers is the exact same as the old then they are screwed. If any person or business goes bankrupt/liquidated that is that as far as luxuries are concerned for a good few yrs

    As much as i dislike the rainjurs, the sad state of affairs is the last time they were liquidated and in the lower leagues, celtic Park closed a stand in the top tier due to falling attendances . Weather we like it or not ,competition is healthy, just look at Aberdeen this season. A procession to the league every year would soon have falling attendances again and that's not healthy

    • @cfcdougiecfc1

    Rangers have too high a wage bill for their revenues. They cant generate the 100 million + revenue because they dont have a big enough stadium, mediocre commercial deals, a poor player trading model and no accese to Champions League income. The Cherry on top is that UEFA will NOT alllow clubs to spend any more than 70 percent of revenus on players and wages. Meanwhile Celtic are starting to use their enhanced revenues to improve scouting and development and Aberdeen and Hearts and Hibs are improving and catching up. Rangers need to downsize their wage bill to about 45 to 50M and then have a few poor years and buy cheaper talents that they can trade for bigger money. If Celtic want to win their first 10 In a Row then they can. The way to seal that is For Celtic to Extend their main stand and increase their capacity to 75,000. Do that and its total domimation.Rangers wont downsize they will keep running the club at a loss until they are Liquidated again. They Simply won't do the right thing, they will risk destroying their club again to chase a structurally bigger club.

    • @philsoro491

      I think with them is they're so focused on keeping up with Celtic, they're willing to pay huge wages to players even though they know that it hurts them. And then they sorta gamble on hoping the players can do it 4 them, but what they should be doing is try to be shrewd & do good business. Instead they're looking at quick short term success rather than preparing for the future. They can't seem to accept Celtic are just better in every way, and the more they fight it, in the end it'll be their undoing. Trying to force it to happen they are. They're just stuck in their ways. That club is in major trouble in so many ways

    • @ajsctech8249
      @ajsctech8249 7 дней назад

      @philsoro491 Agree. And this strategy of the last 10 years will at best only deliver 1 title per 7 or 8 seasons as it stands. They are a smaller club than Celtic and they are trying short-cuts to try appease their fans into thinking they are at least as big as Celtic. Imagine if Celtic got more champions League money again next season and we rebuilt our main stand to have a capacity of 70 to 75K.That would just drive Rangers into constant 2nd and 3rd place battles and consign them the club they were in the early 80s. They need a new model under new owners that pro bablt means 3 or 4 poor years but keeping a wage bills no more than 45 to 50 million and developing a players trading model to allow them to increase their revenue to get closer to that 100 + million Celtic enjoy.We won't see that.Instead we will see more Aaron Ramsey and washed up EPL players on mega wages coming in the door to try and give them stat quality for the derby games. It will fail and they will end up in a dog fight for 2nd and 3rd place for the next decade. They Simply can't and won't act responsibly.

    first time ive watched this podcast properly and enjoyed it,its far better and energetic than the solely hibs focused ones i usually watch,you two seem a good fit very entertaining and relatable,my theory on why hibs seem to consistently fail despite having a higher budget,supposedly better players,seemingly good signings most summers like vente levitt etc and a whole list of players over the years that seem great signings but never work is that when hibs bring players in 9/10 hibs are gonna be the peak of their careers as its a great stadium with top facilities,great training ground,beautiful city to live in and good wages so many of these players think they have ''made it'' so to speak and without a culture of high standards at the club,everything ive listed becomes a negative as players are far to comfortable and pandered to with nobody digging them out for failure so failure is constantly rewarded and if this comfort and lack of desire leads to even a 5 percent drop in performance for each player when u spread that across the team then it leads to the problems we have seen for decades,compare this to say a motherwell or killie things at those clubs arent so cooshy and many of their players are on one year contracts etc so the desire to play well and maybe get a move higher up the ladder is always there and that equates to things we see on the pitch,hibs have consistantly got better higher paid players V teams full of desire to better themselves and this desire on one side V lack of desire on the other gets exposed in late goals and all the other ways hibs manage to lose games,hardwork always beats quality especially in scotland where the game is so fast,obviously there is exceptions to this like a john mcginn or ryan porteous recently but the difference between them and a dylan levitt for example is mcginn would win the battle first thru his desire then his quality and abillity shines through and look at him now

    Our media are utterly clueless. They don't care what happens outside Glasgow, no analysis beyond 5 minutes of googling "Elfsborg" when we have been unbeaten since March and now we have drawn our last three against Celtic. The fact people believe this myth that the players went down with cramp due to time wasting when our tactics are so physically demanding proves my point. Any tactical analysis beyond using the buzzword 'transitions' or talking about "playing between the lines" seems beyond our pundits who would rather talk about Rangers/Celtic. Aberdeen played a Gegenpress against a team who had most of the ball, then surged 4 men forward from their own half after winning possession. Of course they went down with cramp!
