@@americanwholesaleimports2903 Well if it's any help you can put the UK reg into the. Gov MOT checker, while the last 2 mots do back up the milage I'd look at the list of advisories as it makes interesting reading .if it's ex military you can also check on Merlin using its military reg (on a plate mounted on the seat box side) this will also tell you about the engine type. I accept that you need to believe your vendor but a quick bit of Google research or joining a Facebook group will probably help you. I actually own the same year ex army 110, it came with its correct N/A engine and no power steering, the speedo is correct being in KM but the total KM I take with a pinch of salt, I'm not sure what sort of price the Defenders fetch in the US but here in the UK I'd say that's a 4k to 5k vehicle as the chassis and bulkhead have patches welded in. Good luck with the sale.

Correct to a point, the British army didn’t use the 200tdi and carried on with the 12j 2.5na.. this was because the military liked the 24 v system and the 200tdi made it hard to fit.. but I find it hard to believe that few weren’t ordered, the Army, airforce and navy have many different uses for the old Land Rover! Personally I recon this ex military, if not whoever’s made it look like an army Land Rover has gone to a shit load of trouble! They also say that the Army never used the TD5 and carried on with the 300tdi.. this was because of the electrics but I have a ex Falklands Land Rover defender TD5 which we use for pulling ships ropes…it wasn’t painted in the drab green or have the conveyor lights fitted but I have all the paper work and its history. From memory, it went out to the Middle East, then ended up in the Falklands for the paras and then shipped back into the port it now works at bizarrely! Normally they have a military plate mounted on the seat box so I would have a look for that.. as for the milage, I’ve seen plenty of ex army vehicles with less than 40,000 miles on them! Also, our td5 is in miles and not Km.

@@PillSharks actually your not correct, the british Defenders are all 12v for vehicle electrics, ffr veraions have a seperate 24v system for the radio gear, this uses a large 24v alternator and seperate batterys just for the radio. They went back to 24v on the 300tdi wolf for both vehicle and radio, just like the old seris 2 and 3 vehicles. Tgey did use td5 on white fleet vehicles, hence yours having the mph speedo, they also used v8 petrol for rapier 127 and snatch vehicles. I own a 2.5 ex army110 Defender.

@@biancawegener76 whatever… I was just making the point that the army didn’t like the 200tdi because it was harder to mount the bigger generator as the 200tdi defender engine has the sloping timing case…the 200tdi discovery variant is the same as the 300tdi which has a different timing cover and flat on the top with mounting holes… I understood this was one of the reason..hence the reason they went for the tdi300 in the Wolfs and 24v. I could be wrong, it wouldn’t be the first time! I was just trying to give the person who made this video some extra info!

Hi Bob, thanks for the message. Unfortunately the red 110 has had a replacement engine so is not DOT compliant. Basically we wouldn’t be able to import that one successfully.
