The town has several good pizzerias for quick food, a few coffee shops, and a wide variety of excellent restaurants, in concert with several drinking establishments that provide for a suburban bedroom nightlife. You ready to take a dive into this? (⚠️ CAUTION: this is kind of a deep training so heads up) PS.. No I’m not about to tell you to “find your niche” or “attract for your ideal follower/client. You don’t have to worry, that’s not what this caption is going to entail.. (even though those 2 things are still highly important) Let me spill the 🫖 My growth on IG has been quite motionless for the past 5 years up until a few months ago. After experiencing heavier growth between the years of 2012-2018, I think it’s safe to say that we ALL hit a wall of some sort on social media that halted everyone’s growth (unless you’re a celebrity or went viral for some silly reason, lol) Honestly, I was losing followers and I was losing them faster than I was gaining them. Some days I would get between 2-5 followers and that was considered a big Win in my books. I really felt like I was doing EVERYTHING in my power to grow. I was utilizing all the features that IG had to offer, I was using all the growth strategies that big influencers suggested, and always ended up feeling defeated after seeing that none of it worked. As you can imagine, that made me wonder why the growth wasn't happening (I'm a social media geek for Realtors for crying out loud, I of all people should know what the hell to be doing!!) After several years of stagnant growth, I decided to step it up and figure out a new way to go about my brand awareness. So here are the 6 things I did and what I recommend for you to try to grow your Brand + Instagram in 2023: 1] WHEN TO POST: for some it’s best to post at 8 AM and for others at 8 PM. But that’s NOT the advice that I’m going to leave you with here. My tip for you is that if you post something and see very little comments on it, little engagement, little views on your stories, etc. then to LEAVE your Instagram alone for 24 hours. That means DO NOT post, DO NOT leave comments, just let it be for 24 hours and then try posting again after the 24 hours is up. I know, sounds weird, but 8 out of 10 times that I do this my engagement spikes up over 19%🔺 Last time I tried this I went from 565 views on my Instagram story to 2,873. ⬇️ Tips 2-6 in the comments👇 2] CHANGE UP THE POSTING FREQUENCY - for the past 5 years I was posting between 5-10x a day and just about 40+x a week. It worked for me.. until it didn’t. Don’t get me wrong, it absolutely works, but there are better ways to go about it today. So I decided to try a new system which was actually to scale back on how frequently I post. I began to post LESS for the first time since I started growing my IG in 2012. Oddly enough, I started noticing an increase in my following count. I went from posting 40x a week to 20x and my IG has been growing ever since. With that said, posting less isn't always the answer, but it’s been working for me in todays era of IG and so I thought I’d mention it as a tip for you. 3] DON’T OVERTHINK CONTENT CREATION - once I started creating content that I ACTUALLY ENJOYED, I realized that I made it with ease, no stress involved, barely any thought was put into it and lastly it was fun to create (if you know me you probably know I’m talking about my dancing videos 🕺🏼, lol) Now I’m not saying that your content should be silly and pointless just because it’s easy to create, you should still make it a point to create impactful and valuable posts, but what I AM saying is that you don't have to go out of the way and book a professional studio or hire a whole film production to create a reel to make a valuable post. (this Reel is a perfect example). This clip was filmed with an iPhone 13 of me walking down a cool Treehouse/Bridge thing in Hawaii and I used a trending audio over it and then wrote out this caption which took me about 45 minutes to type up. 4] REFI - no, I don’t mean refinance you realtors, I mean REFInement 😅 Listen up because this one is kinda important. As I said before, I got stuck in the mindset that I was “checking off all the boxes” in order for my growth to spike that I actually stopped looking for other places to improve in. The reality is that there is always room for improvement. You can always refine your growth strategies, your systems, your messaging, your captions and even find new ways to refine your brand. Example: I updated my profile profile pictures and bios on all my social medias and while this doesn't directly correlate to my growth on IG, it was a small revision that makes all the difference because it showcases the quality of my business and brand. This leads me right into my next tip... 5] VISUALS + BRANDING - while I've always had brand colors and fonts which are so important, I started to focus more on the visuals on my IG. The bio, the graphics, the designs, the reels, the photos, etc. You literally have 7 seconds to convince someone that they should stick around (yes, that’s a real statistic, look it up) and focusing on the LOOK + FEEL of your profile is how you can do that. So few questions for you to think about.. Would you follow you? Is your account bingeable? If someone compared the quality of your account to the quality of your business, would they be similar? Would they compliment each other? 6] EXPOSE YO-SELF - keep your clothes on for this last one, I mean get out there! Get in front of new audiences and ears that might’ve never heard about you before. This includes trainings, podcasts, speaking opportunities, networking events, content collaborations, and several other creative avenues. If any of these tips resonated with you, try them out and see how it goes. These notes that I leave with you here are what have helped me grow my IG account from 8,761 followers to 51,389.
