I fully support the people of Lamelaria upholding their "traditions", however, the world is changing very quickly and the entire human race MUST make changes in how and what we do. Our very survival demands it. These people should NOT be exempt from international and/or national oversight and regulations that stop the killing of any endangered species, and drastically limiting their quotas of other species. It is entirely possible to send a team to closely observe and document the way that the catches are used by the people. If they are allowed to still kill whales then a specific amount for each family should be allotted based on what can be reasonably eaten, and no more. That data can then be used to determine how many whales can be caught each year. What is going on right now in Lamelaria is ABSOLUTELY AND COMPLETELY IRRESPONSIBLE AND WRONG. THEY SHOULD BE STOPPED IMMEDIATELY.

It drives me crazy that scientists are so amazed that animals they thought were not very intelligent are indeed way more intelligent than ever thought!! What makes them think they know everything about all things is incredibly frustrating and I think it's awesome when they "discover " that God's creations in the animal world are either super duper intelligent or at least have a high level of intelligence!! Even insects and the smallest creatures on our planet have intelligence and a society that functions in the best way for them and obviously there has to be some intelligence to be able to first produce a society and then produce the levels of living from the highest 1 (queen) down to the lowest (workers) and they have been doing this for longer than humans have been around!! So in reality who or what is the most intelligent being on this planet?? Of course it just has to be humans, those who make consistent wars against each other, who kill over color of skin, demand that there be a certain hierarchy in order to (keep) everything flowing properly (president). I mean come on we are nowhere near the top of the intelligence totem pole , unlike thesociety's from the past (Egyptians) who made things our scientific minds cannot figure out and we still claim to be smarter than anyone or anything on the planet!? Pulease get a grip on reality and use the mushy thing inside your skull and understand that the LORD himself made animals before man and intelligence was there before man then!!😊
